President Barack Obama hosts an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan in the East Room of the White House, June 22, 2015. (Official White House Photo by Lawrence Jackson) The Iftar is the evening meal after sunset that concludes the daily fasting during the month of Ramadan. Observers around the world gather with families, loved ones, and communities to break their fast together. For observers, the Iftar dinner and Ramadan are a time to reflect on humanity and to reaffirm commitments to helping the less fortunate. This year, Ramadan, which follows the lunar calendar, is taking place during the longest days of...

Earlier this month at a UFO conference in Mexico City two photographs claimed to have been found in a trunk in Sedona and depicting an alien body that crashed in Roswell in 1947 were revealed. The images, which have created a buzz among UFO believers, depict a small human-shaped figure with an enlarged head—apparently in a display case with an unreadable placard, oddly enough. Low-resolution images had been circulating for some time, and several skeptical researchers (including myself here on Discovery News, I modestly note) identified the “Roswell alien” as a mummified child.

She has firm grip on Democratic nomination and leads three GOP rivals, new survey shows Hillary Clinton has emerged from the rocky launch of her second presidential bid with a firm grip on Democratic voters and leads over three potential Republican rivals, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds. The survey, taken in the days after Mrs. Clinton held her first public rally earlier this month, showed the former secretary of state garnering broad support from voter groups most likely to determine the election, including Latinos and women under the age of 50.

With enforcement of immigration law said to be eroding under the Obama administration, Sen. Jeff Sessions has introduced a new bill to strengthen immigration enforcement. “Congress spends too much time catering to special interests, and not enough time serving the people who sent us here. Advancing this bill would be a dramatic step towards reestablishing the severed trust between the people and their government,” Sessions, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, said Monday.

Which Republican presidential candidates support amnesty? I have analyzed all the major Republican presidential candidates (except Ben Carson and Rick Sanctorum, who are long shots, and Donald Trump, who has undocumented hair). I have found that all the major presidential candidates support amnesty for illegal aliens, except for one. Can you guess which one?

According to a 2013 Pew Research study, 37 percent of households had an adult who owned a gun — 24 percent said they owned a gun, and 13 percent said someone else in their household did. There are about 319 million people in the United States, so that means there are about 118 milion gun owners in this nation. Mother Jones reports there have been 69 mass shootings in the last 30 years. The Washington Post says, a Congressional Research Service report published in 2013 counted 78 incidents over roughly the same period, in which 547 were killed.

Fifty-five scholars signed a letter released yesterday opposing the College Board’s AP U.S. History Framework. Jane Robbins of American Principles Project and retired AP US History teacher Larry Krieger brought this issue to the public’s attention last year with their op-ed in Heartlander Magazine when the framework was made public in 2014. Defenders of the changes have tried to paint those opposed to the framework as ill-informed and politically partisan or as those who want to censor unflattering history.

A formal retraction of a highly publicized same-sex study with falsified results has been made by Science magazine on Thursday for misrepresentation of survey incentives and funding. One of the authors of the article, Columbia University political science professor Donald Green has requested the retraction on May 19, saying co-author Michael LaCour had been incapable of producing the raw data that was applied in the study. The magazine decided to go ahead and retract it after its own investigation even though LaCour did not agree with the decision.

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Are they clever ads with a play on words, or are they just outright sexually-explicit? A valley store's new billboards are at the center of controversy, and Valley Metro has already pulled them off their trains. The ads are nothing new; chances are you've seen them on trucks or billboards around Phoenix. The owner of My Sister's Closet said she entered into an advertising agreement, the ads were approved, so she was stunned when the ads were abruptly pulled. "Wanted: One Night Stand, Buy a Bigger Chest, Make a Booty Call," my sister's closet thought these ads...

MessageToEagle.com - A Mexican archeologist hunting for a royal tomb in a deep, dark tunnel beneath a towering pre-Aztec pyramid has made a discovery that may have brought him a step closer: liquid mercury,' according to Reuters' report. In the bowels of Teotihuacan, a mysterious ancient city that was once the largest in the Americas, Sergio Gomez this month found "large quantities" of the silvery metal in a chamber at the end of a sacred tunnel sealed for nearly 1,800 years. "It's something that completely surprised us," Gomez said at the entrance to the tunnel below Teotihuacan's Pyramid of the...

After months of cynical and predictably tragic racial pot-stirring in Ferguson, Missouri — the bill has finally come due. And as is always the case when the mob-manufactured smoke clears, it is the good people of a predominantly black working class city who are stuck with the check. On top of everything else they have dealt with since the media chose to pour satellite-truckloads of gasoline on the Michael Brown Lie, Ferguson residents are now seeing their property values plummet almost by 50%.

The builders of Toronto’s mysterious tunnel just wanted a place to “hang out,” police said Monday after announcing they had found the two men responsible and would not be charging them. The pair, whom police tracked down thanks to tips from the public, told investigators they built the tunnel for “personal reasons” and their explanation has been verified, Constable Victor Kwong said. Constable Kwong said police have determined there was never any criminal intent or danger to public safety. Toronto bylaw enforcement said they would look into whether any city rules had been breached and whether any tickets or fines...

Plummeting temperatures have broken hundreds of winter records across the country - making February one of the coldest months in history. But in New England, it has gotten so cold even the waves are starting to freeze. These incredible photos of so-called 'slurpee waves' were taken by surfer Jonathan Nimerfroh in Nantucket, Massachusetts. He took his camera out when he noticed the horizon looked strange - and then spotted the surf had turn slushy. The stunning images were taken as snow and icy rain continues to cause chaos across the country - with states of emergency being declared in the...

There are still 10 months to go in 2015, but Mike Barnicle is a strong frontrunner for Clumsiest Comment of the Year. In a Morning Joe segment today on ISIS outrages, and shortly after mentioning the atrocity in which ISIS burned dozens of people to death in Iraq, Barnicle said that the complexity of dealing with ISIS makes "you want to set your hair on fire."
