According to a 2013 Pew Research study, 37 percent of households had an adult who owned a gun — 24 percent said they owned a gun, and 13 percent said someone else in their household did.
There are about 319 million people in the United States, so that means there are about 118 milion gun owners in this nation. Mother Jones reports there have been 69 mass shootings in the last 30 years. The Washington Post says, a Congressional Research Service report published in 2013 counted 78 incidents over roughly the same period, in which 547 were killed.

Mass shootings almost always happen in gun free zones.
Which would mean that only a very few persons would ask for permission.
The liberal asshats who say guns should be banned would be just as reasonable if they suggested that since these crimes occur in churches, schools, theaters and US Post Offices, that we should ban all of those places.
That punk would have been lucky to last 10 seconds in my church. One report said he reloaded more than once.
And that guy could just as easily waited until the people left church and ran them down as they were crossing the street.

The report was that he reloaded five times, though reportedly using a .45 automatic, presumably a 1911/Government model with seven or eight-round magazines, though there are a couple of other smaller designs [Officer's Model] which use fewer, and competing others, larger, which carry more [Glock 21; Croatian XDM .45]
And he shot and killed nine of the people in the same room with him, only those in that room, sparing one congregant and not continuing his activities elsewhere.
I don't think we've heard the whole story, or the true story, quite yet.
You’d think someone would have tried to jump him when he was reloading. This kind of deflates that whole idea that higher cap mags are more deadly, doesn’t it?
I'm guessing that his *.45 Glock* was a model 21/41, with-usually- a 13-round mag.
I expect things might have turned out a bit differently had he chosen to shoot up a group of 9 Gurkhas. Or Sikhs. Or Marines....
