Donald Trump brought a surprise to Thursday night's debate—an endorsement from former presidential rival Ben Carson. The New York billionaire was asked by moderator Jake Tapper what his specific issues were with Common Core when he pivoted to his endorsement. “I was with Dr. Carson today, who’s endorsing me by the way tomorrow morning, and we spoke for over an hour on education,” Trump said. “He wants a lot of different things that are terrific.” “I’m gonna have Ben very much involved with education,” Trump said.

Last week former Republican presidential nominee blasted GOP front-runner Donald Trump in Utah. View image on Twitter Follow Kristinn Taylor ‎@KristinnFR @gatewaypundit Setting up Trump wine, water. Mitt attacked Trump just as his father attacked conservative Barry Goldwater back in 1964.During his speech Romney argued that Trump was a failed businessman. (Trump is a billionaire.) Romney added this: “Wait wait wait. Isn’t he a huge business success? Doesn’t he know what he’s talking about?” No, he isn’t. And no, he doesn’t. Look, his bankruptcies have crushed small businesses. And the men and women who worked for them. He inherited his...

Trump speech roils CPAC Marco Rubio's supporters protest appearance by the GOP front-runner, who has donated more than $100,000 to the event's host. By Kenneth P. Vogel 03/02/16 07:10 PM EST Updated 03/02/16 11:16 PM EST Donald TrumpÂ’s speaking slot at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday is prompting an acrimonious backlash from the conservative critics desperately trying to mount a last-ditch campaign to block the GOP presidential front-runner from winning the partyÂ’s nomination. A top aide to Trump rival Marco Rubio has accused CPAC organizers of being in the tank for Trump and clearing the way for his...

Donald Trump loves to tout his poll numbers. But if he's doing so well, why does he pander to Iowa's ethanol interests? The gambit might garner a few caucus votes among corn growers and ethanol producers. It certainly brings plaudits from renewable energy lobbyists and their political enablers. But it could also cost him votes in many other quarters - beyond the Corn Ethanol Belt and even in Iowa. The fact is, the 14.5-million-gallon-per-year ethanol mandate prolongs policies that are bad for consumers and the environment. And yet many presidential candidates and other politicians support it. The ethanol mandate forces...

One of the interesting assumptions infecting this election season is that a self-funded wealthy candidate is less likely to make corrupt deals. If a candidate doesn't solicit money from the public (which, by the way, every candidate for president does), so the story goes, he won't be beholden to do favors. But what if a candidate had a ready reserve of millions? Could that candidate buy off media outlets, public figures and educational institutions? Answer: probably, if he knows how to do the deal. Expenditures on behalf of a campaign, of course, must be reported to the Federal Election Commission....

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I was almost right. My gut was telling me yesterday that this thing was not over when the show ended yesterday, that the possibility of Trump showing up at the debate was not over. We've learned that the moderators, the moderating crew -- Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly -- even as late 8:45 thought Trump might bop over. There were negotiations going on all during the day. Trump was never serious about it. And I figured it out when I learned that Trump made a demand to Fox News, $5 million donation to his veterans group....

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump began his Thursday-night charity event by touting all of the people --including himself -- who wrote big checks for it. Trump announced that he would suddenly host a fundraiser for veterans as an alternative to going to the Fox News primary debate. Trump boycotted the event after repeatedly complaining about Fox host Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators at the debate, as well as the network overall. "First, we have to talk about people that made a lot of money," Trump began. "They wouldn't have made a lot of money, they wouldn't even be here,...

Trump plans to hold his alternative event at Drake University’s Sheslow Auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event starts at 8 p.m.

An hour after a Ted Cruz-supporting super political action committee announced it would give $1.5 million to any charity if Donald Trump met him for a one-on-one debate, fellow GOP candidate Carly Fiorina jumped in on the action. Upping the ante, I'm free tomorrow at 8pm, @realDonaldTrump. My campaign will give $2mm to veterans' cause to debate at Drake U. (2/2)-- Carly Fiorina (@CarlyFiorina) January 28, 2016 My campaign will also donate $1.5 million to veterans' cause to join debate Saturday in Sioux City, @tedcruz @realDonaldTrump (1/2)-- Carly Fiorina (@CarlyFiorina) January 28, 2016 The former Hewlett Packard CEO tweeted late...

By now most people are aware of the controversy surrounding Candidate Ted Cruz and his failure to reveal $1.3 million in campaign "loans" from Goldman Sachs and Citibank during his 2012 campaign for the senate. At the heart of the issue is a failure of Ted and Heidi Cruz to list Wall Street "loans" on the required Federal Election Commission financial reports. Together with the campaign officials the Cruz's say the non-reporting was an accidental oversight. However, a watch dog group has now filed a complaint with the FEC which is step one to beginning an FEC investigation. cruz goldman...
