Remember our free range Baltimore kids? Apparently their parents have been convicted of “unsubstantiated neglect” for allowing them to walk home from the park alone. The Meitiv kids, engaging in unapproved “dangerous behavior” How can you hold someone responsible for anything that’s “unsubstantiated?” Where, other than government bureaucracies, would that NOT be an oxymoron?Perhaps I need to elaborate; what exactly is “unsubstantiated neglect?” It is something that is not illegal (the law being silent on it) butt that some busybody – in this case Maryland Child Protective Services – thinks should be. Therefore they create an “illegal” act on their own...

In one of the dumbest articles ever to see the light of day, Mother Jones has declared that eating three meals a day is "racist." The piece, titled "Why You Should Stop Eating Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner," was written by Kiera Butler, a senior editor, and was published yesterday. How is eating food racist? Butler explains that white Europeans brought the tradition of eating three meals a day with them to the "New World." "When European settlers got to America, they also imported their meal habits," Butler writes, "a light meal—maybe cold mush and radishes—in the morning, a heavier, cooked...

Democrat support for our Islamic enemies is becoming clearer and clearer. They are becoming bolder and bolder as they steadily drop all pretense of being an American political party. Their boycott of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint session of Congress is just the tip of the “ISISberg” if you will. A recent poll of American attitudes toward Israel showed that just 48% of Democrats support the tiny democracy in the Middle East. That Democrats don’t love America or Israel is a given; but a look overseas at Australia and France will give us an idea of...

Lasers have staggering range, can attack land or air-based targets and are dirt-cheap to fire, making them ideal for a military with one eye on the budget. Now, Lockheed Martin has worked out that the technology could also be used for stopping a car without resorting to lethal force. The company has been testing out a new fiber-optic laser, called ATHENA, which was able to burn through the engine manifold of a truck that was over a mile away. For the purposes of the test, the truck had its engine and drive train running, although the vehicle itself was...

Wednesday, March 04, 2015 The Ages of Purim Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog Tonight begins the celebration of the Jewish holiday of Purim. Like so many Jewish holidays, it is an inconvenient fit for liberal clergy and parishioners who insist that Jewish values consist of social justice. There is no peace process conducted with Haman, the chief villain of the Purim story. No one tries to understand his point of view or figure out how much bowing he will accept in exchange for calling off the genocide. Instead he and his fellow conspirators must die. Purim...

This video shows a brave young clerk fighting off two robbers that are masked when they enter the store. It happened on Friday, 27 February, 2015, in a tobacco store in Lexington, Kentucky. As one robber is trying to grab cash from the register, he puts down a small handgun. While I can not clearly identify it, it looks similar to a RG-14. The clerk, 21-year-old Ara Adil, grabs the pistol, and one robber runs off. Then the remaining suspect attacks the clerk. As they wrestle, she shoots him in the shoulder. Link to the video: The robber...

Did Hillary Clinton Violate the Federal Embezzlement Law? by ANDREW C. MCCARTHY March 4, 2015 Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s systematic evasion of federal recordkeeping requirements involved both the use of private email addresses and a server system installed in her Chappaqua manse. The servers, according to the Washington Free Beacon, may have been set up by shady longtime Clinton lackey Eric Hothem – under a false name (Eric Hoteham) slightly varied from his true name. It may also have been designed to give users the ability to erase emails without a trace. Shannen Coffin’s excellent column today points out...

Ukrainians have released a video of a new crowdfunded tank that they hope to equip with missile launchers and/or machine guns. The small prototype was created together by a local volunteer movement called “the People’s Project” which is fundraising to buy weaponry and necessary items for the military through a dedicated crowdfunding website. Tested The First People's Tank. Analyze and fix flaws. Further establishing combat module and setup software to control it. Who cares-see here: http://t.pp.ua/tanktest1 The complex is intended primarily to save the lives of our soldiers. Why risk the most expensive in the world-human lives, if this work...

Instead of watching helplessly as our republic devolves into crown government, let’s distract ourselves with a counterfactual. What if senators were appointed by state legislatures for indefinite terms? The Senate was designed to preserve the federal nature of our system. Members of the House represent the people, but the Senators were to represent the states — really, state governments.Had this worked, the people would have benefited. (Sometimes, you win by grabbing all the power, but sometimes you win by ceding power to critical allies. The states were the people’s only allies in the War Against the Feds.) Unfortunately, senators came to...

Tavera shoots with the...

One thing you can depend on, Apple is going to pack all kinds of goodies into its technology that offer the potential to transform the functionality of these devices and transform how you communicate with your customers. A case in point is Apple’s Indoor Positioning functionality, which Apple has updated for iOS 8 to provide facility owners with indoor latitude, longitude and floor level via API. To utilize Indoor Positioning in their own app, facility owners will need to survey their facility using Apple tools and upload a map to the Maps Indoor interface. Once that is done, the technology...

Three-dimensional printing has been used to make everything from pizza to prostheses, and now researchers are working on using the emerging technology to fabricate hearts, kidneys, and other vital human organs. That would be very big news, as the number of people who desperately need an organ transplant far outstrips the number of donor organs available. On average, about 21 Americans die every day because a needed organ was unavailable. What exactly is the promise of 3D printing organs and tissues, or "bioprinting?" How does the technology work, and when might it start saving lives? For answers to these and...

Jim Boggess says everyone should be proud of who they are. His sign celebrating his own White History Month has gotten quite a bit of attention.A Flemington business owner's attempt to celebrate his white heritage has caught the attention - and ire - of several of his neighbors, the Hunterdon County Democrat reports. Jim Boggess, proprietor of Jimbo's Deli on Main, displays a sign in the window of the 22 Main St. establishment that reads "CELEBRATE YOUR WHITE HERITAGE IN MARCH, WHITE HISTORY MONTH," the Democrat reports on nj.com. Boggess said other groups have their celebrations, and any racial discrimination...

The actual blueprint of the method of the madness of the Obama regime has been laid bare in White House plans to develop “A Country Within A country” of 15 Million “New Americans”, a story brought to light by Mark Levin’s interview with Susan Payne. “Citizens Will Be Cast Into the Shadows”, warns Susan Payne, a contributor to WCBM, Baltimore and Co-Host of the Pat McDonough Radio Show. (Independent Sentinel, February 28, 2015) Citizens about to be cast into the shadows is only courtesy of the natural order when the current administration in D.C. operates not on the way its...

Even before Bibi Netanyahu spoke, Barack Obama was hammering him: WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (neh-ten-YAH'-hoo) didn't offer any "viable alternatives" to the nuclear negotiations with Iran during his speech to Congress. Obama says he read a transcript of Netanyahu's speech Tuesday. He says "there was nothing new" in the speech. Obama says Netanyahu made almost the same speech when he warned against the interim deal reached with Iran. Obama says that deal has resulted in a freeze and rolling back of Iran's nuclear program. Obama says Netanyahu's alternative to the talks amounts...

Governor Rick Snyder has signed the concealed carry reform bills into law. Governor Snyder, who vetoed virtually the same bills only six weeks ago, signed them just hours ago. Senate Bills 34 and 35 are now Public acts 3 and 4 of 2015. The bills had passed with strong, veto proof majorities in both the House and Senate. County gun boards are eliminated by the bills, with a number of other reasonable reforms. The gun boards were put in place in 1927. In 1925, a black man, Dr. Ossian Sweet, had used a handgun to defend his family...

A teacher describes how the death Trayvon Martin made ger scrap her lesson plan and work on something more relevant with students.Brit in the Bronx teacher created her portrait of Trayvon Martin using red Skittles wrappers and cream and turquoise Arizona drinks labels.Sometimes the people you teach and the events that change their lives can take you to places you weren’t expecting. In 2012, my students had a Hoods Up For Trayvon Martin day in protest against the failure to arrest former neighbourhood watchman George Zimmerman for killing the Florida teenager. They came to class with their hoods up, many...

“Holder whines that the bar is set “too high” for him to do his job.”Michael Brown’s family and the people of Ferguson, Missouri had better prepare themselves. At some point in the near future the Obama justice department will announce that there will be no federal prosecution of his killer. It isn’t hard to make this prediction. Trayvon Martin’s parents were just informed that the federal government won’t lift a finger to bring their son’s murderer to justice. It is particularly galling to watch Attorney General Eric Holder leave office being lionized as a civil rights champion when he has...

Open carry Texas is keeping the heat on the Texas legislature. This time with an open carry march in Amarillo, in the snow. More than 2,300 open carry marches have been conducted in Texas in the last 18 months. No other social movement has been as effective in organizing and gaining followers in the last few decades. Open carry has struck a cord with the Texas gun culture. Many became educated as to the state of the law. Some could not believe that they did not already have rights that are commonly in place in most of the other...
