John Demjanjuk aged 89 is on trial for war crimes in Germany. Pat Buchanan's second favorite Nazi (Hitler is his first) was first convicted of war crimes committed during the Holocaust and sentenced to death in Israel in 1988. The Israeli Supreme Court subsequently reversed his conviction and in a virtually unprecedented opinion acquitted him and dismissed the charges, declaring that he could not be proven by available credible evidence to be “Ivan the Terrible” of the Treblinka death camp, a guard whose brutality was extraordinarily savage even by Nazi standard. As he was only the second person ever sentenced...

Yes, I read the threads about Time's pic of fed chairman Ben Bernanke for "Person of the Year". Heck I even read the article last week, when I was in the dentist's office (about the only time that I pick up that MSM POS). It's occured to me that we haven't had a Freeper poll on the website in quite a while, and I think that it's about time that we pick our own "Person of the Year"

In the style of Sen. Ben "Traitor" Nelson .... can other senators start offering, one after another, amendments to ObamaCare saying, "We want free Medicaid too -- just like in Nebraska!" No, of course I'm not in favor of that. I'm trying to think of ways to stop or slow down this abomination.

This is a rush transcript from "Glenn Beck," December 18, 2009. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated. GLENN BECK, HOST: When you repeat a lie over and over and over and over again, people actually start to believe it as fact. The left did it to George W. Bush and they're doing it again now. That's the topic of this book.

-They now "own" this trainwreck and it will cost them BIG!-Republicans will keep fighting to the last vote on Christmas Eve!Shortly after 1 AM Monday morning Democrats reached the all important 60 vote mark required to begin moving their health care "reform" bill to final passage this week in the U.S. Senate. Not a single Republican voted to end the filibuster. We are only now learning the price Democrats paid for those votes. $100 million for a hospital in Sen. Chris Dodd's state of Connecticut, $500 million for Medicaid for Massachusetts and $100 million for Medicaid in Nebraska to win...

Okay, I need some advice from you guys who know about cars. I always have had Sears Die-Hard batteries, but this time last year, my battery (which was a couple of years past its warranty) died and I called AAA to come rescue me. They sold me a new battery, I think it cost about $100, and installed it on the spot. Today when I tried to start my car, after the DC blizzard of 2009, the battery would turn over, very slowly, but the car wouldn't start. So I had to call AAA again, and now I am sitting...

Did Congress pass Obamacare at 1:00 a.m. this morning? One could be forgiven for thinking so. But one would be wrong. Today's vote was only a cloture vote to shut off debate. But months of vigorous opposition by the American people and a civil war in the Democrat Party has raised the profile of the legislation to unprecedented heights in the public eye. The cloture vote was widely reported to be 'the' vote. To 'Kerry' something is no longer a safe hiding place. If a Senator tries to Kerry this thing by telling his constituents that he 'voted for it...

This right here is Bill Clinton on steroids, after tripling the deficit in 11 months, Obama comes out this morning says we can't continue to spend as if deficits don't matter as if tax dollars are "monopoly money" (Video)

Many experts have pointed to tort reform as a key element of any effort to hold down the costs of health care: Old Democratic presidential aspirant John Edwards won $175 million in judgments over a 12-year period suing doctors, hospitals and insurance companies, everyone but the candy stripers, over infant cerebral palsy cases allegedly caused by mishandled deliveries. As the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists noted in a study in 2003, cerebral palsy could not be blamed on delivery trouble in the “vast majority” of cases. Using bad science, Edwards enriched himself by bankrupting innocent physicians. The effect is...

UBL was 17th of 24 sons and 31 daughters. UBL has stated that it was "not a Koranic union", that (his mother) A'alia was only Mohammed’s maid and concubine (she was referred to by the other wives as “the slave”).UBL became boyhood friends with the future Crown Prince Abdul Rahman (currently 2nd in line for King). In 1967 UBL inherited $300 million. UBL established training bases in northern Yemen. 11 children by Najwa: Abdullah (1976), Abdul Rahman (1978), Sa’ad (1979), Osman...

All I can say is, “WOW”. “Avatar” is a 3-D feast for the eye which should propel James Cameron to the status of legend. In fact, after a decade or two of perspective, I fully expect that this groundbreaking work will be studied in the best film schools, right about the time they are covering Riefenstahl. Seldom has a film been made which combines cutting edge technology, the highest standards of quality, and a deep, self-indulgent loathing of all things which The Left despises about America. I honestly don't remember the last time I found myself booing and hissing at...

For years I have been saying to look towards the UK to see what is coming our way in regards to Islam, and the similarities of the Sharia movement can be seen in this video. The good news is that UK Muslim Anjem Choudary states that US Muslims are about 5-10 years behind in this push. Meaning that we still have time to nip this in the bud. Stating that it is not “all” Muslims and then ignoring the problem does not cut it. Below the video are some comments left by US Muslims on this issue.

Now that Harry Reid and the Democratic leadership have secured the 60 votes needed to override any potential move by Republicans to block the measure, Congress is set to force the public into a 2-trillion-dollar healthcare deal that the U.S. cannot afford. With multi-trillion-dollar deficits and a national debt that stands at 12 trillion (106 trillion when you include unfunded liabilities), the healthcare bill that Obama and his talking mouthpieces in the state-run media refer to as 'historic' will set into motion a truly 'historic' snowball effect that will end in complete bankruptcy and financial and economic ruin.

Sharon Jasper has spent 57 of her 58 years dedicated to one cause and one cause only, and has nothing to show for her dedicated servitude... She has lived in Section 8 housing all but 1 of her 58 years. It was a legacy passed down from her parents who moved into Section 8 housing in 1949 when she was six months old.. She has passed the legacy down to her children, but fears they may have to get jobs to pay for the utilities and deposits. She laments about her one year hiatus from the comfort of her Section...

Kremlin position papers presented to Prime Minister Putin today on his upcoming meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen state that the European-US military alliance has authorized an ‘emergency request’ from President Obama to utilize American and Canadian NATO troops to put down what is expected to be a “rebellion” after the expected January, 2010 ‘declaration of bankruptcy’ by the State of California. According to these reports, Obama’s fears of rebellion are due to the economic health of California (the United States largest State) after the 3rd largest US State, New York, declared a ‘fiscal emergency’ and refused to...

As expected, Senate Democrats pushed Obamacare over the next legislative hurdle at approximately 1:00am this morning at the tail end of the worst snowstorm to hit the capitol in years. Perfect timing if the goal was to sneak the vote past the American people who time and again have voiced their opinions against this version of health care reform. But a little thing like the American people isn't going to stop Mr. Obama and his accomplices from remaking the country and they have the nerve to say we'll thank them for it later. Not willing to acknowledge they have done...

Bogus: ‘Case Western’ Blogger Falsifies Protest Bethany Stotts, December 21, 2009 Blogger “Norman Novus,” who claims to be a Case Western Reserve University Ph.D. candidate, wrote on December 18 that “a group of Cleveland’s less cerebrally engaged have take to protesting outside my research suite at Case.” But at least one of his photos is ripped off Getty Images. “For the past week, a group of Cleveland’s less cerebrally engaged have taken to protesting outside my research suite at Case. The news has been aflame with controversy after controversy for months now, and as I look around, people are finally starting to wake up. This does not mean that we can get lazy and vegitate on the couch once again tuning in the frivolous American Idol style programs. It simply means that we are aware enough of the plan Progressives have for the country that we can stop it. The mainstream media are still mostly oblivious to the threats we all face (them included), as shown by their lack of scrutiny of the so-called "Jobs Summit" the White House held...

So, yeah. I'm a Mormon. :) My rant below is my personal opinion and not to be taken as the official position of the LDS Church. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe the Book of Mormon is a volume of scripture and a companion to the Bible in talking about God's dealings with His other children on the earth...the ones who migrated to the Americas. More about that here. What I want to bring to your attention is that what we've been going through with this left vs. right infighting is nothing new....

Here is video of Rev. Franklin Graham talking to CNN's Campbell Brown about the War in Afghanistan and President Obama's speech in accepting the Nobel Peace Prize. Franklin Graham said "true Islam cannot be practiced in this country (America). You cannot beat your wife, you cannot murder your children if you think they commit adultery, as they do in these other countries." He pointed to Saudi Arabia as an example of a whole nation devoted to Islam that lives this way. Graham said wherever Islamic Sharia Law is practiced, this is how people are treated. Campbell Brown was disbelieving. Graham...

"A wise and frugal government...shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801 The party of Jefferson has come to this: the most reckless, cavalier spendthrifts in the history of the United States. With no regard for public opinion nor for the debt burden they hoist onto future generations, this Congress and this Administration march determinedly toward a Marxist,...

Republican candidate for Governor of Texas Debra Medina’s gubernatorial campaign today announced that she would be at the KERA sponsored gubernatorial debate in Dallas, Texas on January 14. Making the point that KERA is a 501(c)(3) organization, campaign manager Penny Langford Freeman said that unless Debra Medina is on the debate stage, KERA would be in violation of the IRS’ restrictions on political activity.

We Used to Call this Bribery and Corruption... From Landreau's Louisiana Purchase to Nelson's Cornhusker Kickback, congressional crapulence is on full display. Senators who held out got all kinds of goodies for their own states. Ben Nelson got Harry to exempt his state from the medicaid increases caused by the bill, and you and I are picking up the tab. Politico catalogs the greed of these pigs at the trough, from Vermont to Michigan. This craven, immoral display dishonors the man who set the cornerstone of the capitol, George Washington. It is a contravention of everything our founders stood...

Finally finding one government program they could do without, liberals passed the omnibus spending bill which included express language killing the successful Washington, DC school vouchers program. Proposed by former President Bush in 2003, the DC Opportunity Scholarship (OSP) provides school choice to parents of the most disadvantaged students. Passed into law by Congress in 2004, the program provides up to $7500 in scholarship funds to approximately 1700 children who would otherwise be doomed to gang and drug infested academically deficient public schools run by incompetent union protected bureaucrats. The program has been operational long enough now for data to...

Having a great deal of respect for Levin, Hannity, Beck, Rush and many others on the Conservative talk show circuit, I cannot for the life of me understand why the Patriots have such a fear of even mentioning or discussing with their callers the question of Eligibility. I am not referring to the Birther Movement, but the Constitution and the Natural Born Citizen requirement within that document in order to hold the highest elected office in the land. The current resident of the White House has fully disclosed that he is not a Natural Born Citizen as required by the...

While you were busy with holiday preparations and screaming in horror as the Politburo met behind close doors to wreck the health care system; Obama quietly returned twelve Gitmo detainees to their homelands. “The US has transferred 12 detainees from its Guantanamo Bay prison camp to Afghanistan, Yemen and the Somaliland region, the Justice Department says. Six Yemenis, four Afghans and two Somali detainees were sent to their homelands over the weekend, it said. President Barack Obama acknowledged in November that he would miss his January deadline to close down the camp. The US plans to send 116 detainees to...

From Naval Aviator, Commander Jerry Wilson We lived in California during the winters of 2007 and 2008. We became addicted to Fox News and watched O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes every night.. When we got back home, we upgraded our cable to get Fox. I watched the Presidential campaign very closely. Initially because I thought the Democrats would nominate Hillary Clinton and then in astonishment when they chose an even more hard-left candidate. All of last year I told everyone I could that Obama was not a Democrat, he was a Marxist. He is far to the left of any...

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any uglier we get the cash for cloture tally… The CBO reported that Harry Reid spent $1.2 billion to buy off democrats for the Obamacare vote last night. They got their nationalized health care bill and it only cost you $1.2 billion for their vote! The Hill reported, via Sweetness and Light: The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) informed lawmakers on Sunday night that the section of the manager’s amendment to the Senate’s health bill would cost $1.2 billion over 10 years. Nelson managed to win a share of the section of the manager’s...

My new son, Jeff, is out of jail, as of last February. Now this Christmas he put up the tree with his two children—Haley and Jeff Jr. I saw them last evening. Of all the falsehoods and distortions in the political discourse this year, one stood out from the rest. "Death panels." The claim set political debate afire when it was made in August, raising issues from the role of government in health care to the bounds of acceptable political discussion. In a nod to the way technology has transformed politics, the statement wasn't made in an interview or a television ad. Sarah Palin posted it on her Facebook page. Her assertion — that the government would set up boards to determine whether seniors and the disabled were worthy of care —...

Part the first: All I Need Is The Air That I BreatheOn December 7, the EPA dramatically usurped Congressional authority and declared carbon dioxide to be a dangerous pollutant... Part the second: Bridge Over Troubled WaterThe Waxman-Markey bill would have disastrous consequences for the entire nation. But it is a battle the Senate can’t win, at least this year. So the Senate has offered up a smaller power grab which would, of course, have more far-reaching consequences than a first glance might disclose... Part the third: This Land Is Your Land, This Land Is My LandHaving taken over the air...

Their fingers bleed. If they don’t see through their day’s quota — 5,000 bulbs, they are beaten. The next day they report to duty under guards’ eyes. They thread the fine wire through plastic frames for Christmas lights to be strung for selling around the world. But their Christmas celebration is confined to being imprisoned. Their crime? Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. This past year, 600 pastors alone were put behind Chinese bars. Their families? Left to fend for themselves.

Americans admire excellence and authenticity. The rise of the Hollywood movie star was built on powerful performances that projected the idea of authentic emotions. Film audiences experienced a magical connection—often, deeply intimate—with scores of charismatic actors. Lillian Gish’s heartbreaking performance as the abused daughter in Broken Blossoms (1919) cemented the image of a sensitive and vulnerable child/woman. It did not matter that Gish was, in fact, rigid and hard-headed. The huge shadows on the silver screen settled the matter in the public’s mind. Garbo’s close-ups—she was gawky in long shot and her best director, Clarence Brown, kept her in tight...

I had intended to spend this time of my life writing a review for James Cameron’s “Avatar,” but there is a bit of news involving a protect surrounding the film that I feel needs to be addressed. But instead of listening to me talk about it, let’s let the folks over at the Stop Avatar Movie blog: --------------------------------------- On Friday, December 18, 2009 thousands of people will be protesting the release of the James Cameron movie, Avatar. The purpose of the protest is as follows: 1) To make all people aware that heterosexual arrogance, assumptions or exclusions of alternative sexualities...

Are Boys Just “Unruly Girls?” Deborah Lambert, December 18, 2009 Is the so-called discrimination against girls and women in school just another scam that should be lumped into the same category as “global warming” and “health care reform?” According to Phyllis Schlafly, the answer is a definite “yes.” Schlafly pointed to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights plan to investigate whether colleges are “discriminating against women by admitting less qualified men” as the latest attempt by the feminist lobby to “sell the false propaganda that girls are cheated all through the education system, K through 12.” What ever happened to...

Democrats, Liberals and Progressives (DLP) and their media allies are masters of illusion as demonstrated again last week. A scan of world events underscores this statement. Last week’s seminal topics were Health Care, Global warming and Jobs. In all of these topics the vast leftwing DLP front did its best work creating the appearances of something that is not real. On the topic of Health Care there was created in the DLP media the illusion that Conservative efforts were blocking the DLP’s progress to getting their health care agenda passed. That was the illusion. (Not to mention that the whole...

Before Sarah Palin became John McCain's running mate last year, we spent a morning in her Alaska office while she was still governor. We sat down for a one-hour TV interview, and I was most impressed with her insights, traditional values, grasp of issues, and just what a sincere and genuinely warm person she was. The morning in her office made it clear why so many Americans across the board respond to and connect deeply with her brand of politics. However, the former governor has become an icon to many and a disaster waiting to happen for others. America loves...

Barack Obama claims that the individual mandate to purchase health insurance is not a tax. If he is right, he may be dooming a central piece of the health care reform making its way to his desk. Critics of the Obama administration say that the individual mandate—the rule requiring individuals to purchase health insurance or face stiff penalties—is a regressive tax that will hit the middle classes on whom he promised not to raise taxes. Obama says it isn’t a tax at all. But if we accept Obama’s argument that it isn’t a tax, the individual mandate is likely to...

Bills blocking Obamacare should be introduced by Republicans in the state legislatures of every U.S. State. The bills should declare economic sovereignty from Obama's socialist health care program under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. AMENDMENT X The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Every state that passes such a bill should refuse to send health care money to Washington. It's time to fight Obamacare in all 50 States.

Hope For The Future Malcolm A. Kline, December 21, 2009 Believe it or not, someone from academia has actually done a detailed, critical analysis of the accuracy of claims of proponents of the health care reform bill currently before Congress. Of course, that critic is a student, not a professor. “The historic passage of HR 3962 by the House of representatives is not an event to be celebrated,” Eric Staib writes in the December 2009 issue of the Free Market newsletter published by the Ludwig von Mises Institute. “Obamacare will exacerbate the nation’s rising unemployment and will prevent wages from...

Ugly 16-13 Win Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive The Grinch came eerily close to snatching Christmas away from the Texans and all of their fans a few days early on Sunday. Elective Decisions Obama Sets Uprecedented National Security Strategy leave a comment » National Security Strategy Of The United States Of America It is important to note in the past that the United States has waged a great war on the Muslim community. We have done so under the battle cry of freedom, wreaking havoc across the Middle East. This single sustainable model must be changed. We can longer afford this malicious hate across the globe. Therefore, I must alter President Bush’s reckless globalization on which the United States raped, murdered and mutilated thousands of innocent terrorists. Freedom alone cannot dictate...

Our President has once again jetted off on AF1. Yep, he’s back in Copenhagen to save the world from those evil carbon footprints like the giant ones emitting from his 747. The health care debate is at an impasse, at least for a short time, and can wait until he saves the world—again (yaaaaaaaaaaawn!) Despite the efforts of Senators Joe Lieberman and Tom Coburn, a truncated bill of some kind will probably get passed against citizen wishes by about 60% against VS 35% for. All this will do is glorify the “One” currently residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, when he...
