Chicago has just been reeling from a spate of ongoing gang related violence – especially the recent shootings in the 'Back of the Yards' section of the city. Democrats and progressives don't call the violence gang violence, they opportunistically refer to it as 'gun violence', implying that the absence of guns would equate to the absence of violence. That's a false equivalency, but it's one that they adhere to regardless of the actual facts. Yet, we now have a leading Democrat in the state of Illinois, who despite himself, has basically admitted that the answer for 'gun violence' is …...

Three teenagers were charged for the murder of a homeless Hoboken man who authorities claim was the victim of a violent game called “knockout.” The boys, two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old, allegedly followed Ralph Erick Santiago, 46, on Third St. before one of the teens threw a punch at the victim’s head on Sept. 10, prosecutors said. Santiago fell back from the blow and collapsed onto an iron fence, where he died after his neck was wedged between two posts, police said. “He was just a loving person, cared about everybody, very spiritual,” his cousin, who declined to give his...

Washington Navy Yard gunman Aaron Alexis tried to buy an AR-15 assault rifle at a Virginia gun store last week after test firing one, but the story wouldn't sell it to him, CBS News has learned. The reason for the refusal isn't clear. Alexis then purchased a shotgun he used in his rampage, sources tell CBS News. Twelve people died before Alexis was shot and killed by police. CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports that, while law enforcement officials haven't pinned down a motive for the massacre, Alexis was clearly a troubled man with a history of angry outbursts.

The tragic mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard has brought out the opportunistic ghouls from the sick left including Senator Diane Feinstein who are standing on the victims' corpses as bully pulpits from which to preach their anti-gun agenda as reported by Ben Wolfgang for The Washington Times: "Popular conservative blogger and former CNN commentator Erick Erickson admonished the rush to politicize the shooting, saying 'seriously people, grow up. I would not dare step in the way of America's national pastime of bitching about the politics of everything on Twitter, but there has to be a better time for...

"Someone could break in and take the kids," said Marilyn Brook. "Or they could coerce the kids to open the door, take the car and the kids and be gone." "Just leaving them unattended is irresponsible in itself and then to go and do something that's illegal while they're sitting in the car is just inexcusable," said Gabriel Gonzalez. NBC12 wanted to see if Thomas could explain what happened.

Delbert Belton. Chris Lane. An unnamed 13-year-old boy riding a school bus in Florida. What do these people have in common? They are all whites who have been violently assaulted by blacks recently. And on Mother’s Day of this year, 20 people were gunned down in New Orleans by Akein Scott, also black. All of his victims were black. Not white-blacks or white-Hispanic-blacks, but blacks. Alas for these departed souls, unless you attract the narcissistic attention of Barack Obama, you’re unlikely to get the maudlin media mourning mash-up that Trayvon Martin received as a reward for beating George Zimmerman’s face...

“Divorce Court” aired Friday had a one word answer when asked how one man could have 27 children. “Sex,” Nathaniel J. Smith responded Monday. Smith said he was unaware of the court appearance for which he was arrested Sunday morning. The 39-year-old father of 12 sons and 15 daughters by 17 women said he didn’t think about his children’s best interest when he was procreating. “How I lived is wrong. I will admit everything,...

A convicted robber in Nebraska allegedly shot four people in the head weeks after finishing a decade-long prison stint that began when he was a teenager.... . . . Jenkins' early release obviously calls into question the wisdom of "good-time" credit. It also calls into question the notion that prison has any power at all to rehabilitate criminals. Jenkins got locked up as a relatively young teenager and apparently just got more violent. The murder of 33-year-old Andrew Kruger is particularly horrifying. Kruger, a wife and mother of three, was on her way home from work right before she...
