WASHINGTON (AP) -- Court documents indicate a Pennsylvania man who was shot after rushing a White House security gate last month was armed and told police, "I came here to shoot people." Federal prosecutors on Friday charged 31-year-old Jesse Olivieri of Ashland, Pennsylvania, in connection with the May 20 incident. The White House has been placed on lockdown after a woman threw something over the north fence along Pennsylvania Avenue. Reporters were not allowed to venture out of the White House press room and a call to the Secret Service was not immediately returned. However, a woman was detained. She was placed in handcuffs. Fire trucks and a hazardous materials response unit were called to the scene. It is common for officers to sweep the grounds after such incidents to ensure nothing dangerous was thrown over the fence. Officers in Hazmat suits were seen combing the lawn during the lockdown....

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen was a no show Tuesday for a House Judiciary hearing accusing him of misconduct. That didn't stop lawmakers from blasting Koskinen and calling for his impeachment. The hearing stems from a 2013 investigation into IRS official Lois Lerner. Lerner was accused of unfairly targeting conservative and tea party groups by delaying their requests for tax-exempt status. Federal health officials today said they believe "thousands" of people may have contracted the Zika virus before returning to the U.S. as they remain concerned that the virus might start to have ongoing transmission in the U.S. Speaking at a panel at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said the Zika virus remains "pretty concerning" for experts as they learn how it affects pregnant women. BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – An inmate at a Bridgewater prison is being charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama in a “lone-wolf style” attack.
