Obama's Reckless Overseas Attack on Trump
The National Interest ^ | May 26, 2016 | Paul J. Saunders

Posted on 05/31/2016 7:58:50 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

When looking for support for his foreign policy, President Barack Obama wants Republicans to line up behind him because politics should stop at the water’s edge. But when trying to elect a Democratic successor, Mr. Obama takes politics with him wherever he goes, including to this week’s G-7 Summit in Japan. Speaking at a press conference, he pontificated on the ongoing primary elections, including sharp jabs at Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. While he might think that his attacks on Trump’s “ignorance” and “cavalier attitude” will somehow help former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, they in fact diminish not only Mr. Obama and his office, but the country he has traveled overseas to represent.

Mr. Obama’s conduct is especially striking when contrasted with that of former President George W. Bush, who generally declined to become involved in the 2008 election campaign—despite the fact that then-Senator Obama was regularly assailing his leadership. President Bush even had his own opportunity to criticize candidate Obama from the podium at a G-8 Summit in Japan, but refused to do so despite a journalist’s question that provided just such an opportunity. Indeed, when Senator Obama lashed out at Mr. Bush after interpreting some of his comments during a speech in Israel as criticism, a White House aide explicitly stated that Mr. Bush’s remarks were not directed at Obama....

Baraq does not have the best interests of the United State in mind. He never has.

Make no mistake. Obama is terrified that if Trump becomes President, he will begin prosecutions against the Obama commissars that broke the law at IRS and Justice Departments. These underlings are not tough and will turn states evidence to save themselves. Obama is terrified that they have squirreled away evidence that will directly implicate him in these crimes and will turn it over to save themselves. He is desperate to see a Democrat elected President. If Clinton continues to drop in the polls, he will have her indicted so that he can put forth a more viable candidate.

It’s like this for ALL the Democrat presidents and ex-presidents.

Look at Jimmy Carter. He has been out of the White House for more than 35 years and STILL goes on TV every chance he gets to criticize Republicans. Same with Bill Clinton.

The Republican ex-presidents NEVER ever publicly criticize the Rat presidents. If anything, they attack their own base of the party, but never the democrats.

For the moment Mr. Trump is a private citizen.

A sitting US President going out of his way to trash a private US Citizen in front of foreign leaders?

Another Obama first.

Citizens from nation members of the security council cannot become Secretary General of the UN. If Obama claims citizenship from Kenya and moves out of the US to a country (Dubai) where he is protected from extradition he could and probably would be elected SG This, of course, would create such a significant backlash in the US it is likely we would resign and force the UN out of the country.
Wishful thinking, I know.

“Obama should be airing his difficulties like this”

The presser he addressed the “rattled” comment is great;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMegcjv46JE

Trump always rolls stupid criticisms like Obama’s into positives.

In 2008 candidate Obama was extremely disrespectful in the way he talked about President Bush...and of course got no criticism since the media shared his outlook.

I think Bill Clinton publicly attacked Republicans while overseas, but maybe only after leaving office. George McGovern made a speech in England attacking Nixon after Nixon's re-election (I think it was on the day after Nixon was sworn in for his second term), but that did not get much attention.

Yeah, all states do. Two of them, actually. They’re called “senators,” tho . . .

Wonder what Hillary has promised him.

I'm sure they both have enough dirt on each other to put each other away for about 500 years.

W didn't have enough respect for his own foreign policy to forcefully rebut the MSM and the Democrat Party. Then Jeb comes along and he had a piss poor response to MK’s question about Iraq being a mistake. Stay out of politics if you don't have the balls and the will to fight back.

I thought, by founding charter, that the security council members, the US in particular, were barred from being SecGen of UN.
