The House Judiciary Committee voted 19-11 late Wednesday for the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017. This bill would amend the federal criminal code to allow the concealed carry of guns across state lines for all concealed carry permit holders. Should this bill become a law, states will not be able to impose their individual requirements for a concealed carry license on those who have a license to conceal in a different state. The left is already terrified. Republicans rejected Democratic amendments that would ban violent offenders from qualifying under the law (because violent offenders cannot obtain a concealed carry...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ifB8iXfQUk Though it started life as a No.1 MKIII Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle in .303, this single-shot .410 “musket” was an exercise in colonial gun control. With the standard magazine removed and replaced with a wooden plug, the barrel rifling swapped for a smoothbore shotgun load, and the sights fixed on the lowest setting, these guns were used for both constabulary purposes inside the British Empire– much like the Greener Police Shotgun— and for hunting in areas of the UK where the regular military-issue SMLE would require more regulation than a shotgun certificate. Packing heat in the country is no easy task. You need to pass a strict background check and only then can you own a hunting rifle or pneumatic gun. Things were different when the tsars ruled over the land though: Every man and his dog owned a weapon. The famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin enjoyed a rather odd pastime: After waking up he would lie in bed and shoot a pistol at the wall. In Tsarist Russia, people loved guns. Officers, merchants, students, respectable dames, and young ladies all had a favorite handgun, sometimes more than one. However, by the...

John Huber was an avid collector of curio and relic firearms, but he had a problem. He loved the look and feel of his classic Mauser rifle, but he hated to shoot it because of something he refers to as “that darn trigger.” So, like other “can-do” creators throughout the decades, while seeking a solution to a personal dilemma. he ended up starting a company – Huber Concepts (HC) – providing products for men and women who also wanted to bring some fun back to the performance of their classic firearms. (that was 20 yrs ago) Huber's original trigger was...

More than 268,000 women hold active handgun licenses in the Lone Star State, up 35% from 2014. Their rising numbers have led to a booming shadow industry of firearm accessories, including bra holsters, concealment leggings, and leopard-print gun holders for their cars. In an effort to document women's roles in modern gun culture, photographer Shelley Calton took portraits of her gun-toting friends in Texas for her book, "Concealed, She's Got a Gun."

Caliber debate has been going on for every kind of guns even for the concealed carrier. Many gun smarts utilize ballistics reports and mini-science. When it comes to handguns, everyone are looking at what law enforcement are using and they go with that. But is that the right way to figure this debate? As a consumer/concealed carrier, the question is still will a .45cal better at stopping an attacker than a 9mm? What about a .40cal or .22mag? Unfortunately, there is no straight forward answer. Decisions, Decisions For consumers knowing what the different calibers can do can help you decide...

“Obama was good for the gun lobby to use as a foil to make people believe that Obama was after their guns. I don’t think Barack Obama did anything that would have warranted that response. But the people who were most vulnerable to the gun lobby’s claims may also have greater suspicions about the first African-American president.” – Daniel Webster, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research in Fear — and big sales — propelled record-breaking Black Friday gun checks [via nbcnews.com]

Well, for pro-Second Amendment supporters and gun owners the Supreme Court has once again fallen short. The gun rights movement has scored a slew of landmark rulings on Second Amendment rights, but alas—you can’t win them all. The Court refused to hear arguments on Maryland’s assault weapons ban—and the media was, well, in usual form reporting on it. The Supreme Court has refused to hear any further legal challenges on overtly stringent and possibly unconstitutional gun control laws from predominantly blue states since 2010 (via Reuters) [emphasis mine]: The U.S. Supreme Court dealt a setback on Monday to gun rights...

ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A couple from Orange says they'll get licensed to carry after their handgun protected them from danger. The husband held a fugitive at gunpoint. The wife fought him off in the cab of their truck. Jami and Tony Alford were headed to Liberty Trade when their leisurely Sunday trip turned into something they'll never forget. They were trying to get out the way of a high-speed police chase and pulled off Interstate 10 at the foot of the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge. "We took the Park Street exit and was slowing down to get out of...
