Here’s an inside look at the Glock 18C which was designed for the Austrian Counter-Terrorist Unit (EAO Cobra). This 18C series means its compensated with features like this:
-Keystone cut at the top of slide near the front with 4 slots angle towards the barrel.
-a pocket back at the top near the rear of the slide to make this gun run fast.
With a cyclic rate of fire that runs as fast as 1,200 rounds-per-minute, the slide of the G18C can sometimes jog so fast that it can outrun the magazine.
A true machine pistol and not a conversion with a fun switch modification on a more commonly encountered Glock, the 18 features a slide-mounted selector switch and is pretty rarely encountered due to the Hughes Amendment, which tragically relegates it to only LE and military. LOL, look at that barrel bouncing up and down. This thing is completely inaccurate and good only for a wide spray of suppressing fire. What practical application would it have that a rifle or shotgun wouldn’t be better at.
Amen. Think about Las Vegas. Paddock is accused of using a bump stock to get a "machine gun" effect to his firing. No way he could fire accurately with the constant recoil. Of course, his victims, at least initially, were so tightly packed together that aiming wasn't really necessary.
In a situation where there are multiple assailants after your ass, a gun like this might be useful. But in most defensive situations, I doubt it.
You can carry it in a holster?
The Glock 18 is much more practical when equipped with a stock.
Instead of lightening cuts to the rear of the slide to increase cyclic rate, they should make a G18L using the same length barrel and slide of the Glock 17L. The extra mass would reduce muzzle flip and lower the cyclic rate.
I was watching an old “24” episode yesterday and I think I saw a bad guy use one of these. Gonna have to go back and get a closer look.

Terminally innacurate, but would empty a room in a hurry. The psychological effect of hearing automatic gunfire is undoubtedly in play here. I go back to the pump shotgun effect with its unmistakable sound.
Tightly packed rioters, for one. Where individual targeting is superfluous.
Still, wouldn't a real selective fire rifle or shotgun work even better in that situation?
Looks like it would be accurate way out to 36 inches. Maybe.
