Head of Marshals Service in Chicago reassigned AP , Associated Press Sep. 9, 2014 4:02 AM ET CHICAGO (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service has announced it has replaced the head of its Chicago office for the past four years in a re-organization, appointing an interim chief for its high-profile northern Illinois district. On September 8 an armed citizen shot and killed a man he claimed was trying to rob him outside an Indianapolis Kroger store. The allegedly robbery took place at the corner of West Michigan Street and North Holmes Avenue "just before 6:20 a.m." According to FOX 59, the suspect was armed and "was found next to an ATM" when police arrived. Indianapolis Metropolitan police West District Headquarters are located across the street, and officers ran toward the shooting when they heard sound of gunfire outside the headquarters.

It has been over a month since Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Mo., and we have yet to hear the police officer's version of events. Was Officer Darren Wilson badly injured in his scuffle with Brown? Did Brown attempt to seize the officer's weapon? Did Wilson have reason to fear for his own life? NEW YORK (AP) - New York City's comptroller has approved a contract for rooftop sensor technology for the NYPD to help pinpoint and reduce gunfire.

Bakery-cafe chain Panera Bread has joined a growing list of retailers including Starbucks and Target by announcing that customers should leave their guns at home.

I have been going across forums associated with gun owners in CA (i.e. Calgunst.net) with other fellow members seeking support from the firearms community in regard to a situation we have in CA. Last February, the Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over most of the Western United States, ruled that California’s concealed carry law was unconstitutional. The provision in the law stating that one must give “good cause” for a concealed carry permit was deemed too burdensome–and they’re right! After the ruling, Orange County saw a spike in concealed carry permits. It got to the point where the county had to spend an additional $1.6 million–and hire 14 part-time staffers–to process all the applications.

In a regular Monday ritual, Chicago Police display the numerous illegal guns they have most recently taken off the street, and there is always a dismayingly large cache.
