  • Edible weeds

I have decided to start a thread focusing on edible weeds. Many of the common plants we see everyday are edible, and while most are not hugely palatable or nutritious, a few are truly very good. If you would like to post a recipe, please post recipes related to these plants only. As always, an extreme amount of caution is advised. It's probably true that 90 percent or so of plants are actually edible, there is a small percentage that if you eat them, you WON'T have to worry about eating again! Oleander comes to mind, it would take less...

Yes, he's cutting the military budget...in the midst of two wars. Think about that; he is cutting back on supplies, health care, VA funding and everything else while simultaneously pushing a bill that includes $4-billion plus for "neighborhood stabilization"--read ACORN. Obama needs his base right about now and he'll do anything to get their support, including sentencing our men and women of the military to substandard conditions. That will result in deaths to those who joined to protect our nation.

News services in Israel are on fire with talk that Barack Obama has just sent a supporter of the terror group Hamas as his envoy to Syria and Egypt to relay news of his policies to come. Last September Israel's suspicions were heated up about "former" Obama advisor Robert Malley being sent to Syria with a George Soros funded group. It was then claimed by Egyptian sources that Malley was still working as an advance man for Obama which angered Israelis because six months earlier Malley announced that he had held "regular meetings" with Hamas. At that time, Malley's comment...

JERUSALEM – Hamas held a meeting in the Gaza Strip several months ago with aides to President-elect Barack Obama, but the terror group was asked to keep the contacts secret until after last week's elections, according to a senior Hamas official. Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser in Gaza, told the leading Al-Hayat Arabic-language newspaper Hamas has maintained regular communication with Obama aides that even continued during the past week. "We were in contact with a number of Obama's aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out...

"One item apparently on Mr. Obama's agenda would restrict offshore drilling still again. Brilliant, isn't it? Just as the price of gasoline is going down, to the relief of the nation, the president would send a signal that we're not serious about developing our own resources. This would bring warmth to the hearts of assorted mullahs, princes and other managerial types, and the price of gas at the pump would shoot up again. Before signing such an executive order, to appease radical environmental groups, Mr. Obama might consider the meaning of such terms as "political suicide," "approval rating," and "one-term...
  • Obama's win promotes democracy in the Arab world

A curious thing has happened as Americans were choosing their first black president. Democracy suddenly ceased to be a bad word for many genuine democrats in the Middle East. In the aftermath of the war on Iraq and as part of President George W. Bush's attempts to win the hearts and minds of Arabs, a public democracy campaign was launched aimed at injecting Arabs with the democracy virus. Millions of dollars and years later, the effort had been pronounced a failure. Democracy salespeople had a problem selling their goods while the Bush administration was occupying Iraq, supporting the continued occupation...

Nation of Islam leader Farrakhan hails Obama win From correspondents in Chicago Agence France-Presse November 10, 2008 10:36am LOUIS Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, has hailed US president-elect Barack Obama as an extraordinary leader but warns his victory will stir racial animosity. Mr Farrakhan, 75, said Senator Obama's presidential candidacy had excited the nation in a way not seen since Robert Kennedy ran for the White House in 1968, and that he had been moved by the "oneness of spirit" he saw among voters, particularly on election night in Chicago. But he said the country remained...

Barack Obama will enter the White House without any military experience and with a playbook that emphasizes diplomacy, behind a president who waged two wars and presided over some of the largest-ever defense budget increases. So, how will President Obama be received at the Pentagon? Much depends on his first moves. One of his senior security advisers, former Rep. Lee Hamilton (D-Ind.), said even though the president-elect has experience on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he’ll need a strong defense team that works together well.

The insane emperor Caligula made his horse, Incitatus, a Roman consul. In 2008, the people of the United States elected Barack Obama and Joseph Biden. The Romans got the better of the two arrangements, because Caligula appointed the ENTIRE horse. Within 72 hours of his election, Barack Obama has already turned the nation's highest office and the leadership of the Free World into a carnival sideshow. Obama began his career as President-Elect by mocking former First Lady Nancy Reagan, whom he said held seances in the White House. It is an unspoken custom of the Presidency that one does not...

Just yesterday on The MacRanger Show I told you about Mr. Wonderful’s new snazzy website called “Change.gov“, and how it detailed his plan for Iraq. However today, the page is GONE. Except for the Google Cache. In fact the entire plan under the tab “Agenda” is also gone, along with all the other planned agenda of the Obama Monarchy. No doubt somebody hit the post button too fast as just a cursory reading found more than a few eyebrow raising. After all the news inquiries yesterdays me thinks they “withdrew”. Speaking of which here was an interesting portion from the...

'Carter hailed Ceausescu, dictator of the most repressive police state in Eastern Europe, as a "great national and international leader" who had "taken on a role of leadership in the entire international community." Triumphant, Ceausescu brought home a joint communiqué in which the American president stated that his friendly relations with Ceausescu served "the cause of the world..."' - Ion Pacepa (Former Romanian head of intel, who defected). "Hope" and "change" (and a whole lot of money) propelled Obama to victory. After endorsing President-elect Obama last February, MoveOn.org Political Action's 4.5 million members contributed more than $88 million towards Barack Obama's presidential campaign, the organization announced on Wednesday. And more than 1 million MoveOn.org members worked in a trail-blazing field effort in coordination with the Obama campaign. In the 2008 presidential campaign, MoveOn.org and its members admitted they: – Contributed more than $58 million directly to Obama's campaign. – Raised and spent more than $30 million in independent election efforts. – Delivered up to 600,000 battleground state volunteers....

Some on the Left are calling us "whiners" and crybabies because we are not celebrating the coming of "The One We Have Been Waiting For." Some on the Right are congratulating Mr. Obama; one even called him “good.” It seems that they have not learned the lessons of the past. Keeping in mind that dissent is the highest form of patriotism; we see no reason why we can’t be in the vanguard of dissent. In fact, are we not much more patriotic than the supporters of The One who has just been elected "The Man?" Why yes! With that in...

Secret of the Rosary Films is offering a one million dollar reward for the certified long-form birth certificate of Barack Obama. Obama will consider combat positions and selective service registration for women The female college students who enthusiastically supported Barack Obama for president might not know that he wants women to register with the Selective Service at age 18, just as men do. Or that he wants the military to officially open combat positions to women. Although the topic was drowned out by campaign rhetoric and statements on policies that college students find more congenial, his position on registration of women is clear. And Obama’s national security spokeswoman stated before the election that Obama intended to change current policies on women...

Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign slogan, "the audacity of hope," should have instead been "the audacity of deceit." After months of telling the American people that he supports the Second Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from the anti-gun lobby--four initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm manufacturers and dealers out of business: "Making the expired federal assault weapons ban permanent." Perhaps no other firearm issue has been more dishonestly portrayed by gun prohibitionists. Notwithstanding their predictions that the ban's expiration in 2004 would bring...

MOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Muslims hope that U.S. President-elect Barack Obama will be able to improve relations between Washington and Moscow, a deputy head of the Council of Muftis of Russia said on Saturday. "First of all, we congratulate Obama with the victory. We hope that relations between our countries will improve," Damir Gizatullin said. Relations between Russia and the U.S. have plunged to a post-Cold War low in recent years over a host of differences, including the deployment of a U.S. missile defense system in Central Europe and a brief conflict in August between Russia and...
