Trump signs bill targeting funding for abortion providers © Getty President Trump on Thursday signed a bill to nix an Obama-era rule that blocked states from defunding healthcare providers for political reasons. The bill, which Democrats say is really an effort to defund Planned Parenthood, passed the Senate last month after Vice President Pence had to cast a tie-breaking vote. Trump signed the measure behind closed doors in the Oval Office without media present. Republicans used the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to roll back the regulation, which former President Obama signed during his final months in office. Obama's rule required...

President Trump signed a bill Thursday freeing states to withhold federal family planning grant money from Planned Parenthood, marking the first major pro-life legislation to be signed into law in more than a decade. The bill unravels an Obama-era regulation that insisted states couldn’t refuse to spend family planning money with Planned Parenthood or any other organization that performs abortions. “This is a major pro-life victory,” said House Speaker Paul D. Ryan. More than a dozen states moved to strip Planned Parenthood of government funding in recent years as questions arose about the country’s largest abortion provider. In particular, lawmakers...

Surely it must be impossible that a charity overseen by Canada’s Catholic bishops funds pro-abortion organizations in poor countries? No Catholic charity aimed at helping the poor could possibly be involved with something like that. Right? Unfortunately, since LifeSite began investigating the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace’s grantees in 2009, it has found — and continues to find to this day — scads of irrefutable evidence showing that monies collected by D&P are being funneled to partners that promote abortion. LifeSite’s March 28 investigative report on D&P’s current partners was filled with enough evidence to satisfy even a pro-abortion...

The unnamed husband wrote about the situation on Mumsnet, an online parenting forum, and quickly received harsh criticism from other commenters for trying to pressure his wife, the Mirror reported. Though it is difficult to tell whether this particular situation is legitimate, these types of situations occur more frequently than people probably realize. Research suggests women frequently are pressured to...

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Abortion rights advocates say an abortion clinic in northwestern Louisiana has closed, leaving three other such clinics in the state. Owners of Bossier City Medical Suite could not be reached for comment Tuesday. The phone number at the facility was no longer in service and the website was down. State business records show the company's officers are the same Texas-based principals of Causeway Medical Suite, a suburban New Orleans facility that closed last year.

Hillary Clinton will be honored next month in New York City with a “Champion of the Century Award” by Planned Parenthood as it celebrates 100 years of operation. The U.S. presidential election may have went to Donald Trump, but his Democratic Party challenger is still a “Champion of the Century” to Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards. Mrs. Clinton will be honored by the abortion and health services provider on May 2 for “her 40 years of service to women and girls.”

Hillary Clinton will receive a consolation prize from one of her top supporters, Planned Parenthood, in May. The abortion chain announced Thursday that it chose the failed presidential candidate to receive its “Champion of the Century” award for “her 40 years of service to women and girls in this country.” The award will be given to her during Planned Parenthood’s 100th anniversary gala in May. Clinton lost the presidential election, despite strong support and expectations from the abortion chain. Planned Parenthood spent more than $30 million to help Clinton and other pro-abortion candidates get elected. Most of the candidates lost...

There has been an uproar over events at the Catholic University of Louvain, which has suspended and finally dismissed one of its philosophy professors, Stéphane Mercier, for having written in a note for his students that “abortion is the murder of an innocent person.”The matter is not surprising, seeing the track record of this university which is nonetheless endowed with the title of “Catholic,” the hospital of which has for some time been openly practicing euthanasia procedures, “from 12 to 15 per year,” according to the rector of the twin Flemish university of Leuven, the canonist Rik Torfs. But what is...

A Texas State University student who prides himself on tolerance punched, kicked, and tore up several pro-life signs while a local activist set them up in a central campus square. Captured on video by several passersby, politics and government student Ian Ramos shouted obscenities at the unidentified pro-lifer and ran from sign to sign, knocking them over, kicking and punching them. Finally, he later told a reporter, he was calmed down by a professor and escorted to her office to avoid police. ...Ramos later defended his actions to alternative news sources such as the Daily Caller and The Tab. Asked...

In recent remarks to the Citizens Assembly in Ireland, Dr. Peter McParland, an ob-gyn at National Maternity Hospital, pointed to a sign of things to come. “In Iceland,” the doctor said, “every single baby—100 percent of all those diagnosed with Down syndrome—are aborted.” The horrors of the statement above can scarcely be grasped. Iceland has become the first nation to boast of eradicating Down syndrome from its country. Dr. McParland expounded on this systematic annihilation stating, “There hasn’t been a baby with Down syndrome born in Iceland in the past five years.” Iceland is not alone in its aspirations to...

The student who punched in, kicked, and otherwise trashed anti-abortion signs released a video saying that he “engaged his rage” and hopes he was able to “inspire” people. “First off, I reject bigotry,” Ian Ramos, the student who destroyed the anti-abortion signs on Texas State University campus on Monday, said in a video posted on Twitter, which has since been taken down. Ramos, a history and government student, is currently studying “nonviolent social resistance” at the university. “I don’t have to put up with anyone peddling some false, ignorant ideology. I engaged my rage.”

Ivanka Trump quietly requested an in-person meeting with Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards after her father was inaugurated, according to a report. President Trump and Planned Parenthood have publicly clashed over the organization's abortion services. Last month, Vice President Mike Pence stepped in twice to save a Senate resolution aimed at killing an Obama administration rule that prevented states from blocking federal grants to abortion providers. Richards, according to the organization's executive vice president Dawn Laguens, explained to the president's daughter that federal funding "doesn't actually go to abortions."

The United States is ending its support for a United Nations entity that promotes abortion overseas, the State Department has announced. Pro-life leaders are praising President Trump for the move. "We are thrilled that the U.S. is no longer funding forced abortion and involuntary sterilization in China," Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women's Rights Without Frontiers, told LifeSiteNews Tuesday. "The blood of Chinese women and babies will no longer be on our hands ... I have consistently advocated for the defunding of UNFPA over the years, most recently just a couple of weeks ago at the United Nations Commission on the...

The Trump administration announced Monday that it is cutting off funding to a UN agency that has been credibly accused of promoting forced abortion, particularly in Communist China, under the guise of “family planning.”The State Department said it was stopping the flow of taxpayer dollars to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) “based on the fact that China’s family planning policies still involve the use of coercive abortion and involuntary sterilization, and UNFPA partners on family planning activities with the Chinese government agency responsible for these coercive policies,” reported CNSNews.com.

The Trump administration said Monday it was ending funding to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), long a target of conservatives over concerns that its work in China abets the communist authorities’ controversial population limitation programs. The administration’s first confirmed cut to a U.N. agency will cost the UNFPA $32.5 million. Its budget proposal for fiscal year 2018 calls for unspecified reductions to contributions to the U.N. budget, and further “seeks to reduce or end direct funding for international organizations whose missions do not substantially advance U.S. foreign policy interests, are duplicative, or are not well-managed.” The move comes as...

Laying waste to unborn babies and allowing a veritable gang of criminals to enter and roam the nation is perhaps the greatest definition for the word hypocrisy The most prevalent absurdity in modern America is the fact that we have blocked the entrance of 60 million of our own offspring due to Roe v. Wade, while we insist that those who pour across our borders illegally have a perfect right to be here. Nothing lends itself to the definition of pure hypocrisy more than watching parades of protestors carrying signs, including some that say – “No human being is illegal.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has filed 15 felony charges against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt for secretly recording Planned Parenthood officials who thought they were negotiating the sale of body parts from aborted fetuses. The crime: recording without consent. "Inasmuch as the sales being negotiated were of dubious legality it should be obvious that the Planned Parenthood officials whose words were captured on video would not have voluntarily consented," Becerra pointed out. "The covert recording and subsequent airing of the conversations did irreparable harm to the reputations of both the Planned Parenthood organization and the individuals who work there."...

The United Nations (U.N.) is pushing Italy to force more doctors to perform abortions because many of Italy's doctors, in conscience, refuse to do so. In their annual report on Italy released Tuesday, the U.N.'s Human Rights Committee is saying women in Italy are having "difficulties in accessing legal abortions owing to the high number of physicians who refuse to perform abortions for reasons of conscience." The report alleges the lack of willing abortionists is resulting in "a significant number of clandestine abortions being carried out," but doesn't back up the claim with any statistics. The U.N. concludes by urging...
