“Taking the form of a bond-servant” (Philippians 2:7). Christ submitted Himself to the Father’s will. When Christ emptied Himself, He not only gave up His privileges but also became a servant. First, He was a servant by nature. Paul used the Greek word morphe (“form”) again to indicate that Christ’s servanthood was not merely external but His essence. It was not like a cloak that could be put on and taken off. Christ was truly a servant. The only other New Testament use of morphe is in Mark 16:12. There Jesus appears in a resurrection morphe—a form fully expressing the...

The EU is to sue Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic over their refusal to take in third world migrants, the European Commission announced on Thursday. They will be referred to the European Court of Justice for “non-compliance with their legal obligations on relocation”, the commission said in a statement, referring to the three countries’ staunch refusal to take part in an EU scheme forcing migrants on unwilling nations. Passed at the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, the controversial rule dictates that asylum seekers who illegally breach Europe’s borders be “fairly” redistributed across the bloc through a quota...

On December 3, 2017, members of the Trump administration, including Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., and secretary of state Rex Tillerson announced that United States would no longer take part in the Global Compact on migration. That compact, the non-binding New York Declaration for Refugees and Migration, signed on September 19, 2016 by 193 states, purported to commit them to a unified framework – a safe, orderly, and regular organization of all aspects of international migration. Secretary Tillerson explained, a day before a global conference on the issue was to open on December 4 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico,...

Unless I'm missing something Google appears to be ignoring the 76th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. At least the Bing search engine by Microsoft does.

P22 is the most famous mountain lion in the world, living in Griffith Park, right in the heart of Los Angeles. He was born in the Santa Monica Mountains, and crossed two of the busiest freeways in America, the 405 and the 101, before he settled in the park. Yet P22 is now trapped, hemmed in by freeways and the urban sprawl, with little chance of ever finding a mate. Now a new documentary film will explore his plight and the development of the wildlife crossing at Liberty Canyon in Los Angeles. Angelenos and local conservationists alike are battling to...

RUSH: I saw something that was… A new round of criticism from Never Trumpers about Trump, and I’m sitting here thinking, “You know, you want to talk about irony?” You know, some of these Never Trumpers out there are ardent conservatives. You know who they are as well as I do. You know the magazines; you know the blog sites. When you get down to looking at what Trump has done, when you look at Trump’s agenda, you’re gonna find more conservatism than we had with George W. Bush. You’re gonna find more conservatism than we had with George H....

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) grilled FBI director Christopher Wray Thursday morning. The conservative firebrand demanded Wray confirm whether or not Trump-hating FBI agent Peter Strzok applied for the FISA warrant to spy on Trump officials.

Democratic Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones plans to bring in black congressmen like Rep. Cory Booker to rally for him in order to reach black voters as time inches closer to the special election, according to a Thursday report. Jones and his allies are gearing up to make a final push to recruit black voters, a much-needed voting bloc, to try and secure a victory on election day for United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s former Senate seat, The Washington Post reported Thursday. Alabama Democratic Rep. Terri Sewell has been leading the charge to get Sen. Cory Booker and Rep....

So, this has been said over and over again, but the Left is going to continue to play this tune. We’re not going the way of Germany circa 1939. We’re not. We have constitutional mechanisms that would prevent such a takeover, namely we don’t have an actual official act that would allow the president to assume emergency decree powers after a catastrophic event, such as the Capitol Building being set ablaze by someone. Yet, former President Obama decided to make a warning that the U.S. could be charting down that path at the Economic Club of Chicago this week. It...

Blaming the West is debatable According to Igor Strelkov, the outside world is fundamentally opposed to the emergence of a strong, sovereign Russian nation. He even claimed that Vladimir Putin and Russia's ruling oligarchy are in fact Western puppets. Alexey Navalny dismissed the idea of a global conspiracy against Russia, arguing that international competition is normal. Russia's biggest enemy, he said, isn't the West, but the actions of its own political leadership. Navalny also endorsed the West's sanctions against targeted Russian economic sectors and Putin-connected oligarchs, telling Strelkov that Russians should be most concerned with domestic problems. The war in...

Baseball players don’t always go into broadcasting or managing after their MLB career is finished. Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Anthony Reyes took a different path, deciding to pick up a hose and become a firefighter in Los Angeles County. And as an L.A. County firefighter, he’s now reportedly on the front lines of the California wildfires, working with many others to try and contain them.

The UN Security Council will meet Friday to discuss the declaration of US president Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will report to the council about Trump's decision and will state his position. Guterres criticized Wednesday "any unilateral measures that would jeopardize the prospect of peace...

Amid the talk of draining swamps, restoring political might to blue-collar America and turning off the spigot of taxpayer cash that showers Washington, a familiar battle cry is ricocheting through this city: Move the bureaucrats out. It has the ring of a Trumpian fantasy. Dislodge arms of the federal government from Washington and reattach them in faraway places, spreading the wealth generated by these well-paid agency workforces and forcing senior bureaucrats to face the people they affect.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has led the quest for Trump administration documents relating to its decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which delays deportation for minors whose parents brought them to the United States illegally. President Obama introduced DACA in June 2012. It was a controversial move that many on the other side of the aisle said was an overuse of executive authority. Trump announced plans to end the program this past fall, citing those same constitutional concerns. Still, Becerra seems to suspect the administration is guilty of wrongdoing in terms of its own immigration...

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii — Just days before Thursday’s 76th anniversary of the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, marine researchers have found and explored the undersea wreckage of the U.S. ship that was the first to fire upon a Japanese vessel that day. On Nov. 30, the crew of the research vessel Petrel sent an underwater drone 650 feet below to explore and document the remnants of the USS Ward, according to a statement by the USS Ward Expedition. The Ward has rested unseen at the bottom of Ormoc Bay — just off the island of Leyte, Philippines — since it...

In 1985 one of the most audacious space rescue missions was launched by the Soviets to recover a space station that had been dead for months due to an unknown fault. A feat that was unparalleled in space exploration and rewrote the books on what was thought possible: and yet, its story has fallen into obscurity and conspiracy theories. This is the story Salyut 7 and how the Soviet crew of two, Vladimir Dzhanibekov and Victor Savinikh against the odds rescued it in a daring mission that was the first of its kind in space exploration. **Apologies to all the...

White Double THIS ILLUSTRIOUS PONTIFF was deservedly placed in the Calendar of the Church side by side with the glorious Bishop of Myra. Nicholas confessed, at Nicæa, the divinity of the Redeemer; Ambrose, in his city of Milan, was the object of the hatred of the Arians, and by his invincible courage, triumphed over the enemies of Christ. Let Ambrose, then, unite his voice, as Doctor of the Church, with that of St. Peter Chrysologus, and preach to the world the glories and the humiliations of the Messias. But as Doctor of the Church, he has a special claim...

Regem venturum Dominum, venite, adoremus. Come, let us adore the King our Lord, who is to come. De Isaia Propheta. From the Prophet Isaias. Cap. v. Ch. v.

RUSH: I got tell you, folks, I’m stunned, I’m surprised, I’m shocked. I thought that Al Franken would try to hang in there for another week. I thought he would try to make it past December 12th because that’s the key date. I told Snerdley that I was all ready for Franken to continue to stay in the Senate, not resign, defy his party. I told Snerdley, I told Snerdley before the program, just to get it on record, why I thought Franken would do that. Turns out I was wrong. Greetings. Great to have you. Rush Limbaugh and broadcast...
