A federal judge Thursday dropped one of three criminal charges against Marcus Mumford, Ammon Bundy's lawyer, and ruled he'll issue a verdict on the other two charges, not a jury. U.S. District John C. Coughenour dismissed a charge that accused Mumford of creating a disturbance by impeding the official duties of government officers because it encompassed the same conduct alleged in the second count, failing to comply with official signs that prohibit the disruption of federal officers' official work. Coughenour declined to grant Mumford a jury trial as requested, or his mission to dismiss all the charges. Mumford's lawyer Michael...

A former Twitter engineer recently tweeted his belief that the most important thing professional communities can do is to make it difficult to be a conservative.Travis Brown, a former open source engineer at Twitter, recently tweeted his disapproval of the tech conference LambdaConf following the announcement that computer scientist Curtis Yarvin would be speaking at the event.LambdaConf urged attendees to focus on their professional work at the conference, warning of the issues that the introduction of personal political beliefs can have in a formal setting, something which Brown seemed to vehemently disagree with.

The Left camouflages a “rolling coup attempt” as a righteous national security push The so-called scandal involving former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn is 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Iran-Contra, Watergate, proof of presidential fascism, a cynical money-making scheme, and a pro-Russian spy thriller all rolled into one, according to the increasingly deranged rants of howling left-wingers and their truth-adverse confederates in the mainstream media. Despite this relentless barrage of fake news and smears, President Donald Trump pushed back against the orchestrated campaign against him yesterday at what is sure to go down in history as The Best Presidential Press Conference of...

In the weeks after Donald Trump won the election, CNN chief Jeff Zucker watched as one of his employees compared the new president to Adolf Hitler. At a White House press conference Thursday, Trump declared that he was changing his moniker for the network from “fake news” to “very fake news.”There’s been a ton of well-publicized drama between the two camps. The White House has threatened to throw Jim Acosta out of the briefing room. Jake Tapper has bashed Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway for lying on air. And his Sunday show recently declined an offer by the White House to have her come on.You may think Trump is too harsh on CNN.But take a...

On February 9th, Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange was sworn in as a replacement for Senator Sessions. Senator Sessions joined the Trump administration as Attorney General of the United States. From al.com: "This is truly a remarkable time in our state's history," Bentley said in a press release this morning. "Alabama has surely been well represented by Senator Sessions, and I am confident Senator Strange will serve as a fine representative for our people. His leadership on a national level, service as a statewide elected official and long record of taking on tough federal issues are the very qualities...

This morning, as has been the case for weeks now, over half of the articles have been about Catholic church inside baseball. While I'm sure that is of interest to some, it merely squeezes out stuff that is more interesting to others. While I appreciate the importance of the topics to a few, let's keep in mind that it is not at all to others. I don't want to start a flame war but the nuances of some Latin-named paper by some unknown cardinal in a village in Germany (just a hyperbolic example) are wholly unimportant to this good old...

Conservatism is the new counter-culture. I must say, it is refreshingly pleasant to be right and hip at the same time James Delingpole recently observed that Ted Mallach believes that “the Brexit and Trump shocks of 2016…are the counter-reaction to the global takeover by the liberal-left in 1968.” This long overdue counter-reaction is, in fact, (as Milo and PJ Watson note) the vanguard of a new counter-culture—conservatism.

On Friday, President Trump and his entourage will jet for the third straight weekend to a working getaway at his oceanfront Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla. On Saturday, Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr., with their Secret Service details in tow, will be nearly 8,000 miles away in the United Arab Emirates, attending the grand opening of a Trump-brand golf resort in the “Beverly Hills of Dubai.”

According to a statement released by the Pittsburgh Police Department (PPD), the incident began when an unnamed 22-year old man recognized Revis while walking at around 2:30 am. There are timeless classics in literature and film that all people must read or see. In the Catholic world, I would label The Song of Bernadette such a film.Produced in 1943 and starring Jennifer Jones, the film won many Academy Awards. Based off the novel of the same title by Franz Werfel, the film tells the story of St. Bernadette, who in 1858, received 18 apparitions of the Blessed Mother, who identified herself as the Immaculate Conception.I’ve seen The Song of Bernadette so many times, I have parts memorized. Here are five inspiring quotes from The Song of Bernadette.1) “For...

Donald Trump is right — the alt-left fake news media are out of control. “The press has become so dishonest,” he said today, “that if we don’t talk about it, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people.” The pampered pukes have been lying for a long time — just ask the New England Patriots about their “BITTER END.” But this week’s deluge of fake news has just been totally over the top. Trump singled out Wednesday’s New York Times page-one story about the “repeated contacts” of Trump campaign aides with Russians. That, he said, was “fake news.”...

With One Tweet, Chuck Todd Reveals The Truth About the Mainstream Media It’s always the people inside a bubble who think they’re the ones with an outsider’s perspective on things. The mainstream media fits this profile perfectly. The big name press continue to deny there is anything wrong with the way they do things, or the things they choose to do. NBC’s Chuck Todd, for example, is happy to blame Donald Trump for his profession’s problems and abdicate any responsibility. They all are.Todd sent out this tweet when President Trump was going after the media during his press conference...

Relatives and friends of 9/11 victims called Thursday for an end to President Trump’s travel ban — saying it spreads the same hate that killed their loved ones. The group of 10 unfurled a banner in Battery Park that called for “unity” with the Muslim community. “We’re saying after 15 years, stop using our loved ones to support unjust hatred,” said Terry McGovern, whose mother Ann was on the 92nd floor of the South Tower when it collapsed.

Cardinal Coccopalmerio (a FrancisCardinal with the t-shirt) has, bizarrely, deserted his own press conference on occasion of the launch of a heretical booklet ‘splainin’ why the Church was wrong for 2,000 years, but heretics like himself and the Evil Clown are right. This is bizarre, but still understandable in view of the barrage of questions the heretical Cardinal clearly did not want to answer. Even more bizarre, and outright absurd, is the rumour circulated by gay operatives of the Vatican that Coccopalmerio’s press conference would be the way the Pope answers the Dubia. Poppycock. The Dubia are made exactly so, that either...

Nothing conveys anti-Trump angst better than a “Not My President” candy bar in a VIP gift bag at the Academy Awards! . . . Let Hollywood keep funding children’s books portraying Trump as Hitler and promoting “Not My President” candy bars while the media mercilessly attacks Trump, and the Soros-funded protests continue. But remember, Americans are increasingly more hopeful under “our president” then they were under “your president.”

Central Intelligence Agency documents released by WikiLeaks Thursday list Canada as one of several countries asked to assist the United States while they spied on the 2012 French presidential election. The three CIA tasking orders request that current French president Francois Hollande, then president Nicolas Sarkozy and current first round presidential front runner Marine Le Pen all be closely monitored. CIA officers were asked to uncover the secret strategies of the candidates, as well as information on internal power dynamics within the parties. Canada is listed as one of five countries working on human intelligence parts of the operation however...

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) said she is not ready to impeach President Donald Trump until Congress conducts an independent investigation. CNN's Erin Burnett asked Wasserman Schultz whether she thought her Democratic colleagues went too far by calling for Trump's impeachment. Burnett's question was referencing some Congressional Democrats who have hinted at impeaching President Trump. For example, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) recently said it's "legitimate" to discuss impeaching Trump and stated that it's her "greatest desire is to lead him right into impeachment." In her response, Wasserman Schultz never used the word “impeachment,” but instead said that she...
