Carr: Kudos to President Trump for calling out fake news
Boston Herald ^ | February 17, 2017 | By Howie Carr

Donald Trump is right — the alt-left fake news media are out of control.

“The press has become so dishonest,” he said today, “that if we don’t talk about it, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people.”

The pampered pukes have been lying for a long time — just ask the New England Patriots about their “BITTER END.” But this week’s deluge of fake news has just been totally over the top. Trump singled out Wednesday’s New York Times page-one story about the “repeated contacts” of Trump campaign aides with Russians.

That, he said, was “fake news.” And then there was yesterday’s Wall Street Journal front-page non-story, “Spies Keep Intelligence from Trump.”

“Almost as disgraceful,” the president said.

Let’s start with the Times story, which was a rehash of a story last month which was itself a rehash of a story in October.

Third paragraph: “The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.”

So Obama’s stooges were tapping the phones of Trump aides during the campaign — imagine Nixon doing that to McGovern! But they turned up nothing. “So far.” I like that, “so far.”

But wait, the FBI is “sifting through … troves of previous intercepted communications.”

Any conversations about Trump? “It is also unclear. . ."

Wow—I hadn’t put it together that that NYTimes reporter who had called Melania a hooker is the son of Carl Bernstein.

I’m reading “War Hawk”, by James Rollins/Grant Blackwood. Modern war is defined as being three-proned...electronic, cyber, and psychological operations.

Psy-ops is further explained as “the most f**ked up. Its goal is to degrade a populace’s morale by spreading misinformation through both social and news outlets, intending to inspire fear and spread panic.”

So, this is what’s going on...the media and fifth column have declared war on the United States.

And anything coming out of the mouth of Scott Pelly is to be discredited immediately.

His news casts recently aren’t even close to “news” - they are Pelly’s efforts to make the President look bad.

Yesterday they had a story about the “day with no immigrants” and paraded out some woman who had “lived here for more than 20 years” but in her past had stolen Social Security numbers and checks. She was holed up in a Church so as to not be deported - THE WOMAN COULD NOT SPEAK ENGLISH!!!! What the hell! Live here 20 years, make no effort to assimilate, break the freaking law - then go hide when it’s time to pay the piper. And THAT is the hero CBS News posts for all to emulate.

I can’t even watch national news anymore!

A “dishonest” press is nothing new, read some of the very old history 1800-1900’s and the evidence is there, you just need to do some digging. Personally, I never cared for CNN due to the mostly biased news reports that they provided. In my earlier working days, I traveled quite a bit and every airport waiting room I would sit in had CNN on the TV’s. They were disgusting then and still are. I refuse to watch any TV news to this day.

Not panicking. If it dissolves to Civil War, we all will know who to go after.

I haven’t watched the national news for years. You can find anything you want to watch later, after reading about it and then go to see for yourself. I decided last year after hearing some terrible things about Trump, to actually watch an hour long video of a meeting he had. The reporter’s version of what Trump said and did didn’t mirror what I watched. After that, I realized like I never had before, that the media, all media, only tells you what they want you to know, even if it’s untrue or not representative of the whole.

The country has gone through three stages with the media.

For the first hundred years, the press was partisan, and everyone knew it. News outlets had a point of view, and it was known and taken into account.

Then, as the media become more centralized, the media started claiming it was objective. People stared believing it. The “Progressives” alway were dominant in the media, and they completely took over the centralized media by the 1960s. This started the era of the Mediacracy, where nearly all the media told the same story, controlled the narrative, and thus controlled the country. That era ended with the election of Donald Trump.

There is now enough alternate media that the Mediacracy no longer controls the narrative. We are back to an era of partisan press.

I agree with that.

However, in that first era that you cited, newspapers had names like “The Democrat Register” or “The Hartford Republican”. It was a biased press, they admitted it, and they let you know up front which side they were on.

Since the era of President Trump began, we are back to the blatantly biased press, but the press is so dishonest they will not admit it. The Washington Post will tell you that they are unbiased, totally objective and not at all partisan. They will also tell you that Obama was a blessing sent from heaven and that Trump is Hitler. But those are just facts. They’re just reporting facts.

President Trump is (I hope) forcing the press to admit their bias. It’s there. It’s not new. Just be honest: admit that Scott Pelley will never say a kind word about a Republican.
