In the celebration of President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration and the drama of his excellent inaugural speech the most important item on his agenda was left unspoken – the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice to replace the late and great Antonin Scalia. During the campaign, then-candidate Donald Trump released a list of 21 potential Supreme Court nominees that was met with reaction from conservatives ranging from general approval to ecstasy depending on who you Judge William Pryordefined as a “conservative.” President Trump said several weeks ago, that he planned to forward a nomination to the Senate in the first...

A few days before Inauguration Day, my 89-year-old black preacher dad said God is responsible for Trump becoming president. I thought about the scripture in which God says, "My ways are not your ways." Frustrated with Obama declaring America no longer a Christian nation while cramming the left's anti-God and anti-America agenda down our throats, millions have been intensely praying for our country. If I were God, I would have answered Americans' prayers by making Ted Cruz president. But God is smarter than me. Trump is exactly what America needs at this point in time. No traditional politician could get...

For NFL fans around the country the playoffs is supposed to be the fruits reaped from the labor of a 16-game NFL season. It’s a grind, even for Patriots fans I’d imagine, and we’re supposed to be rewarded with the best of the best going head-to-head for 60 minutes, with constant, heart-wrenching drama and lead changes and plays we’ll tell stories about for generations to come. But the two blowouts in the conference championship round may have sealed the deal; this postseason might have been the worst one we’ve ever seen… at least in quite a while.

The filibuster may seem a weapon of obstruction in the hands of Senator Schumer, but the Minority Leader may find himself in a trap of his own making when he uses it. During the Obama years, Republicans campaigned on the promise that "If we control the Senate and the House, we will pass conservative laws to rein in a lawless Obama administration." But after each election Senate Majority Leader McConnell said that that it was almost impossible to get anything done because the Democrats blocked every meaningful action in the Senate. Does that really mean that we have to elect...

As usual...."weak sister" Republican Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, bowed to the demands of Senate Democrat, Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer regarding the approval voting on POTUS Trump's cabinet nominees, etc. McConnell, as the Senate leader could have & should have, forced the Democrat Senators and the entire Senate to stay in unending session through this past weekend, in order to gain the approval of all of DJT'a cabinet nominees. Instead, McConnell opted to bow to the whims & wishes of "no political power" Democrat minority leader, Chuck Shumer!!! If McConnell has any back bone or spine in defense of his...

Don't mess with CNN. That's the unvarnished version of a message that the network's president, Jeff Zucker, delivered to President-elect Donald Trump in an interview published on Thursday by New York magazine. "One of the things I think this administration hasn’t figured out yet is that there’s only one television network that is seen in Beijing, Moscow, Seoul, Tokyo, Pyongyang, Baghdad, Tehran and Damascus - and that’s CNN," Zucker said. "The perception of Donald Trump in capitals around the world is shaped, in many ways, by CNN. Continuing to have an adversarial relationship with that network is a mistake."

Turkish businessman Tekin Acar had contracts to open branches of his leading cosmetics chain in ten new shopping malls this year. A few days ago he canceled nine of them after sharp falls in the lira meant he would struggle to afford the rents. Turkey's currency has lost around a quarter of its value since the middle of last year, causing havoc for retailers selling imported goods or paying rent pegged to the U.S. dollar. Many were already suffering from a sharp economic slowdown and dwindling tourism numbers after a spate of deadly bombings.

The morning after Donald Trump was elected president, Andrea Myklebust’s sheep needed new hay. Distraught by the results from the night before, feeling like this was the first day of a suddenly altered American reality, she walked down the driveway of her farm to meet the man who brings her feed for her flock. Myklebust didn’t know for sure, but she suspected he had voted for Trump, a person she considered odious, dangerous and unqualified for the job he had just won.

American college campuses are becoming the main battleground for the First Amendment, usually because faculty or administrators don’t respect the free speech rights of students. In November I wrote about such a case at Iowa State. Another case showing the authoritarianism that increasingly characterizes the professoriate involves the master’s program in social work at Rhode Island College (RIC). A student who did not believe that lobbying the state legislature for “progressive” causes was properly a part of his education and suffered for it filed suit against the school in state court. This remarkable case started way back in 2004, when...

A liberal watchdog group says it plans to file a lawsuit against President Trump in federal court on Monday alleging that he is in violation of a little-known constitutional provision that bars him from taking gifts or payments from foreign governments. The group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said that because Trump-owned buildings take in rent, room rentals and other payments from foreign governments, the president has breached the Emoluments Clause. That clause in the Constitution says that “no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under [the United States], shall, without the Consent of the Congress,...

One of the best-wired Republican lobbyists in town emails Axios previewing the initial phase of Trump executive actions: Look for a possible hiring freeze at executive branch 5-year lobbying ban on transition and administration officials Mexico City policy, which prevents foreign NGOs from getting U.S. family planning money if they provide abortions with non-U.S. funds. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump could sign an executive order as early as Monday intended to renegotiate the free trade agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico, NBC News reported, citing an unidentified White House official. In addition to wanting to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the new Republican president also intends to sign an executive order pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), NBC reported. Trump, who was sworn in as the 45th U.S. president on Friday, targeted both trade pacts during his White House campaign. Officials were not immediately available to confirm...

It would be interesting to know how many of the useful idiots donning “pussy hats” at Saturday's massive “Women's March on Washington” had any idea—or even cared to know—who the principal organizers of the event were. The answer is undoubtedly close to zero, since the purpose of the entire charade—like all leftist charades—was merely to give the participants an opportunity to publicly signal their own moral superiority while smearing—as racists and fascists—anyone who doesn't accept socialism, identity politics, and perpetual grievance mongering as the ultimate expressions of the American Dream. But for those who actually have an aversion to mindless...

Within a few hours of the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona, there were attempts by the Left to pin the blame on the Tea Party. The suspect turned out to be a lunatic who was a big fan of the "Communist Manifesto" and "Mein Kampf." Not exactly a right-winger. Years ago, I began to sound the alarm about the upcoming Obama thugocracy, and we got a taste of it at the tea party events and town hall meetings in 2009. A few representatives from the Black Panthers were involved in a voter intimidation incident at a Philadelphia polling...
