Thought y'all had to follow the bishop of Rome? This call to resist the pope is sounding like a modern day Reformation.
Bergoglio is Roman Catholic through and through, elevated to Pope by the College of Cardinals. It’s you guys who are Protestant.
Get over it. It ain’t so bad, you might actually get to the truth of the matter instead of being buried by the constant priestly PT Barnum flimflam and flapdoodle raining down by the sheaf.
The pope is infallible only when speaking ex cathedra about faith and/or morals, which relate to the teachings of the Church.
The Protestant Reformation was not a reform of the Catholic Church, it was a splitting away of many from the Church.
"Bad" popes are still Catholic. Francis ain't Catholic.
The Pope’s main job is to defend the faith that was passed down from the Apostles. That’s it. He has no authority to cook up anything new, no authority to decide we’re going in a different direction than Christ already gave us.
Fidelity to the immemorial tradition of the Church is what made us oppose the Reformation, and is what makes us oppose Bergoglio. NO ONE has the right to change Catholic teaching.
The best parallel to a modern-day Reformation is the Bergoglio camp. All that blather about leading the Church in a new direction, cults of personality, radical novelties, sloppy theology.

Guess the Counter-Reformation meant nothing was wrong in Roman Catholicism.
The majority of Catholics won’t give a damn. The majority of priests, bishops and cardinals will think and do whatever pope Francis tells them to do even if in contradiction with their theological training.
Let me help: He’s been taught one thing and he chooses to believe another. We Catholics (convert here) follow Jesus, same as all the rest of the Christians. This man evidently does not follow the Lord. Two paths/ not a difficult choice imho.

We are all the same family and our foe, really, is those who do not believe in God and hold Jesus to be His son, no? There are plenty of enemies out there without in-family fighting. You might save your snarks for them.
Christians don't believe we have to go through Mary to get to Jesus as Roman Catholics do.
We also believe we can go straight to Jesus for forgiveness of our sins without having to go through a priest.
Luther called the Catholic church to get back to their roots.
For that, they ex-communicated him.
Imagine the gall, expecting the Catholic church to get back to the Bible that Catholics claim it wrote. The nerve of the guy.
They have no one to blame but themselves for the Protestant Reformation.
And who decides when that happens?
What if Francis makes an ex cathedra statement about gay marriage or divorced people receiving communion?
You have to accept it, no?
Manifest heretics leave out the guesswork and according to Catholic teaching, manifest heretics are not Catholic and therefore not members of the Catholic Church.
It really isn’t that complicated.
Christianity is not a relationship with a Pope...nor any other man outside of Christ Jesus....
‘Religious systems’ are based on human merit....where you hope if you stay on the path or in the way you’ll come out good in the end when you finally reach the door of judgement or assessment. That is not Christianity.
Christianity is not a ceremony or rite of passage or passing tests of merit, ....Christianity is A Person....Jesus Christ.
We too easily forget that Christ came into the world and said.. “I AM” the door....”I AM” the way...He who believes on my word and him that sent me shall not come into judgement but has ‘already’ passed from death to life....So we can accept Christ NOW at this time and know we’re accepted Now.....
Jesus offers us what no religion offers....forgiveness and ‘certainty in this life’ because of what HE has done not what we have done..........That’s the difference and it’s vast!.... It’s not based in morality but in what way we are “Related” to God...not a man.
It is because of bad Catholics such as this present Pope is why the reformation got its start.
You have a tendency to slip like an eel onto unrelated topics when you don't like an answer.
Let me restate. Neither the Pope nor anyone else has any authority to cook up anything new. Period. If he becomes a manifest heretic, he forfeits his office by that very fact.
Pope Honorius I was anathematized by a council *and a subsequent Pope* for playing cute with the Monothelite heresy. And the Fathers of Vatican I studied that case up and down when they drafted the dogma of Infallibility.
