For him it is "highly unlikely" that Francis, who in his theology is “more a Protestant than a Catholic” will convert to Catholicism. Instead, the realistic scenario is that Francis will produce division and chaos, "Catholics will have to decide whether they guard the faith over papolatry.”

Don't see how this can be when he's been raised up as a Roman Catholic.

Thought y'all had to follow the bishop of Rome? This call to resist the pope is sounding like a modern day Reformation.

Bergoglio is Roman Catholic through and through, elevated to Pope by the College of Cardinals. It’s you guys who are Protestant.

Get over it. It ain’t so bad, you might actually get to the truth of the matter instead of being buried by the constant priestly PT Barnum flimflam and flapdoodle raining down by the sheaf.

“The Cardinals have to declare that Francis is a bad pope who must be resisted.”

"Bad" popes are still Catholic. Francis ain't Catholic.

“...and because of this God gave them over”

What does this mean?

The majority of Catholics won’t give a damn. The majority of priests, bishops and cardinals will think and do whatever pope Francis tells them to do even if in contradiction with their theological training.

Ximinez: Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms!

The Spanish Inquisition has made its choice.

With all due respect to Catholics, they seem to be content with letting somebody else interpret Jesus’ New Testament teachings for them, just like misguided, low-information US citizens seem to be content with letting the “experts” (wolves in sheeps clothing) tell them what the Constitution means.

But this has clearly led to MAJOR problems with respect to correctly understanding the good news of Jesus and the Constitution.

In fact, Galations 1:6-9, particularly verses 8-9, shows that Paul the apostle condemned anybody who taught a different gospel then the apostles did under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

With all due respect to the papacy, Pope Francis seems to be trying to turn the Church into a social networking medium to compete with Facebook.

N.B. Jorge Bergoglio was not only ordained a bishop under Pope John Paul II, JP II also elevated him to the college of cardinals.

HOW can they make claims like this with NO evidence shown to back it up?

We PROTS are used to it; but to treat the Holy Spirited guided folks who ELECTED Francis to the pope position as though they did ZERO checking is just; shall I say; just like the liberal Democratic party and Trump!

We are so blessed to be Lutherans at our house. Lutheran since Martin Luther days, our people lived in Germany back then.
