Christian computer scientist: World will end this month when Jesus returns to destroy planet

A Christian computer expert claims the world will end this month when Jesus will return to destroy the planet.

Nora Roth says she has performed complex calculations and backs up her claims in a 6,000 word blog post on her Mark of the Beast website.

According to the claims from Roth, who describes herself as a Bible student, Jesus will guide his people to heaven before leaving the planet sterile for 1,000 years.

Bible

The calculations have been based on an excerpt from the Bible’s Book of Daniel, which says that ‘Seventy sevens are decreed […] to put an end to sin.’

Ms Roth wrote: “Are 6,000 years of sin almost over? Will Jesus come in 2016? The Bible presents enlightening, logical, and compelling answers to these questions. In short, yes!

“The 70 “sevens” prophecy in Daniel 9:24 has two fulfillments. First, the 70 “sevens” are 70 sabbatical cycles – 490 years, pointing to the first coming of Jesus as our Savior from sin.

Sin

“Second, the 70 “sevens” are 70 Jubilee cycles – 3,431 years, pointing to the second coming of Jesus when His people will be permanently freed from sin.

“In the fall of 2016 the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again.”

The computer scientist, who says she has worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst, said it was ‘most important’ for people to give themselves entirely to God right now.

She added: “Now is the time to seek God, while He may be found. Now is the time to repent. Today is the day to choose to receive Jesus Christ fully and to abide in Him.”

“I was always under the impression that a Jewish generation was 40 years.”

This is in relation to Daniel's prophecy of 70 "sevens", not, I believe, the Biblical length of generations.

Is there a consensus?

Of what, that she's a "crack-pot" or that we're in the "end-times"?

I'm of the latter...

I’m just commenting on the fact that end times prognosticators were almost all in agreement that a generation was 40 years, until 1988 rolled around and their prognostications failed to come true. Then they either decided a generation must be 70 years, or they needed to start the 40 year count from 1967.

When they are all wrong in 2017/2018, I expect them all to agree that a generation must be 70 years AND the counting must start in 1967, and that will give them until 2037 to make more bad predictions.

Sounds like he’s skipping a few prophetic events... including the millennial reign.

The new heavens and new earth don’t come until after that period.

Consider what conditions need be for the majority to not still be waiting for His return? His return is described as a thief in the night... because the majority think He is already here. They took another husband..spiritually speaking.

Well, I saw this on a bumper sticker: “God’s back, and BOY is He mad!” :-)

William Miller could give this person some advice about the silliness of predicting the end time: 1843 came and went.

Note the headline.

The corrupt lamestream media never hesitates to link the word “Christian” with nutjobs.

You rarely see the word in print otherwise.

I’m just commenting on the fact that end times prognosticators were almost all in agreement that a generation was 40 years, until 1988 rolled around and their prognostications failed to come true.

I've seen this as well.

Psalm 90:10 says, "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."

In Matt. 24, Yeshua went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

[Later,] "as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Notice the disciples asked three questions: 1. "When will these things be" (IMO, destruction of the temple). 2. "What will be the sign of Your coming" (i.e., second coming). 3. [Signs] "of the end of the age?" (i.e., end of the world).

These are three individual events often confused as one. However, as often seen in prophesy, and in its fulfillment, duality/shadow events occur. Yeshua's statement in Matt 24:34, "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.", could have/can be used in determining the timing of any of these three events the disciples asked Him about.

For instance, the generation alive at the time of Yeshua's first coming did see the destruction of the temple, aprox. 40 years later - within the 70 year lifespan given in Palsm 90:10.

Secondly, if like some, you use the establishment of the state of Israel to start your 70 year clock, we have until 2018. Some start the clock when Jerusalem was recaptured, and that puts the time out to about what you've mentioned.

Personally, I look at all the indicators I can find, both scriptural and worldly. And there are many signs from both pointing to this being epochal times.

Reminds me of the words of Danish Chess Grandmaster Bent Larsen: “Long analysis, wrong analysis.”

Yea, but the tribulation is supposed to be 7 years and if you subtract out the golf and vacation time I don’t think the current admin gets 7 years of painful stuff done...

Death by puns. I'm telling ya, the Messianic light is going to make the sun look like a half-dead flashlight.

Now I'll go back in here to read the comments. :)
