Evangelicals Didnt Even Study for This Test
...this year, LifeWay used more stringent criteria for evangelical faith, as defined by some group called the National Association of Evangelicals. Only participants who called the Bible their highest authority, said personal evangelism is important, and indicated that trusting in Jesus death on the cross is the only way of salvation, were labeled evangelical. They totaled 586 survey-takers.
Everyone expected them to perform better than most Americans. No one expected them to perform worse. Seven in ten evangelicalsmore than the population at largesaid that Jesus was the first being God created. Fifty-six percent agreed that the Holy Spirit is a divine force but not a personal being. They also saw a huge increase in evangelicals (28 percent, up from 9 percent) who indicated that the Third Person of the Trinity is not equal with God the Father or Jesus, a direct contradiction of orthodox Christianity.
As before, its really the contradictory answers, not the outright heresies, that should most concern us. By definition, the evangelicals in this survey believed that only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive Gods free gift of eternal salvation. Yet nearly half agreed that God accepts the worship of all religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Former Newsday religion reporter Kenneth Briggs recently told Religion News Service that the faith he finds in mega-type churches is a Bible-less, alternative version of Christianity. Scripture, he says, has become a museum exhibit, hallowed as a treasure but enigmatic and untouched.

Nice try to spin attention away from the FACT that the KJV translators CHOOSE to use two different words for ONE Hebrew word.
Try your stuff on folks with a shorter attention span.
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, ' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
Golly!
Why SHOULD we; when YOUR chosen translation states (quite accurately I believe):
John 21:25 King James Bible
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
“God’s preserved word the KJV and have accepted all the NWO translations of the Bible.”
If the KJV was good enough for Jesus to read, it’s good enough for us.
My question was not very clear. What I am asking about is what is written in the King James Bible for 1 Peter 2:7. According to sources on the internet, it is written:
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1 Peter 2:7 (King James Bible)

http://biblehub.com/1_peter/2-7.htm
Is this correct? If so, why is “head of the corner” written in the authorized KJB and not “cornerstone”?
The KJV translation was guided by the Holy Spirit of God, every one of your NWO translations was guided by the spirit of anti-christ. When it comes time for you to make your choice between Barabbas and Jesus Christ, and you are unable to tell the difference between the man of sin, and the Son of God, I hope your hatred for God’s preserved word was worth it to you. Because you will fall harder than your Humpty Dumpty, and then it will be to late for you, even God will not put you back together again.
Right, that means they were not, so here is a warning for you, all that extra biblical doctrine you adhere to. It’s a lie from the enemy.
If you want a great KJV study tool, go here, it's free. I use it every day.
Psalms 118:22
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
Jesus Christ is the head of the body
Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Actually the KJV will lead you to the right Jesus, not the counterfeit one that is going to appear one day.
They all show “head of the corner.” Maybe the the graphic that you used in post 270 is in error. Maybe it should read:
The NIV 1984 is the only version using the phrases
Capstone replaced “head of the corner”

Anyways, yeah it's a another prophecy Christ fulfilled. His body is made up of lively stones:
1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Christ is the chief cornerstone
1 Peter 2:6
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Think of a corner, you have two straight lines coming together at one point (Jew & Gentile) Christ is the head of the corner.
1 Peter 2:7 NIV Blue Letter Bible
And the graphic says, The NIV 1984 (which was their "updated version")is the only Version using the phrases...
CAPSTONE...replaced "cornerstone"
If the graphic is in error, than I won't use it anymore. But if it's right I think people should be made aware of it.
Still here? I'm not going to agree to disagree when you continue to toss false accusations at me. How about you answer the issue with the KJV I asked about where it mistranslates in two places that question the deity of Jesus Christ? Here is my initial question:
The KJV improperly translates both Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1 which muddles the question of the deity of Christ. The KJV translated Titus 2:13 thusly:
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
But other versions do a much better job, such as:
New International Version while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
New Living Translation while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.
English Standard Version waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Berean Study Bible as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Berean Literal Bible awaiting the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
New American Standard Bible looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
English Revised Version looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
Do you see the difference? Then there's II Peter 1:1, which the KJV translates as:
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Others have the following:
New International Version Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
New Living Translation This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.
English Standard Version Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Berean Study Bible Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
Berean Literal Bible Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those having obtained a faith equally precious with ours, through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
New American Standard Bible Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
International Standard Version From: Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus, the Messiah. To: Those who have received faith that is as valuable as ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.
Why, wouldn't I be, as far as I know my account hasn't been banned. Why, were you thinking of putting in a request?
The KJV improperly translates both Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1
Be glad to help you out on this, first tell me, what do you base this assumption on, your feelings? What document, person, website, whatever told you this.
Oh, probably because you told me yesterday when the questions got too hard to answer:
Read my last post to you, that will be it for our conversation. Ive got another thread to work on, which is much more edifying to me then this one is. To be honest this thread is a downer for me.
Did this thread stop being a downer so you decided to stay? I never have yet asked anyone to be banned nor would I. It's a cowardly way to participate on an OPEN thread if you ask me.
The KJV improperly translates both Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1 Be glad to help you out on this, first tell me, what do you base this assumption on, your feelings? What document, person, website, whatever told you this.
I base the facts, no assumption at all, on just plain reading the texts for myself. The KJV, though a good translation that I like and use most often, DOES have some issues with it. Did you read the comparisons between versions concerning Titus 2:13 and II Peter 1:1? I don't need your help on anything. I just would like to hear how you can ignore the real problems that exist with the KJV that prove to me that it is NOT in itself inspired by God. It is a translation of the Divinely-inspired word of God - just as there are other versions (some good and some bad) of the same Holy Scripture.
There is a preface to the KJV written by the group of translators, it can be found HERE. They had this to say about the undertaking they completed for the edification of Christians who spoke the English tongue:
Now to the later we answere; that wee doe not deny, nay wee affirme and avow, that the very meanest translation of the Bible in English, set foorth by men of our profession (for wee have seene none of theirs of the whole Bible as yet) containeth the word of God, nay, is the word of God. As the Kings Speech which hee uttered in Parliament, being translated into French, Dutch, Italian and Latine, is still the Kings Speech, though it be not interpreted by every Translator with the like grace, nor peradventure so fitly for phrase, nor so expresly for sence, every where. For it is confessed, that things are to take their denomination of the greater part; and a naturall man could say, Verùm ubi multa nitent in carmine, non ego paucis offendor maculis, &c. A man may be counted a vertuous man, though hee have made many slips in his life, (els, there were none vertuous, for in many things we offend all) also a comely man and lovely, though hee have some warts upon his hand, yea, not onely freakles upon his face, but all skarres. No cause therefore why the word translated should bee denied to be the word, or forbidden to be currant, notwithstanding that some imperfections and blemishes may be noted in the setting foorth of it. For what ever was perfect under the Sunne, where Apostles or Apostolike men, that is, men indued with an extraordinary measure of Gods spirit, and priviledged with the priviledge of infallibilitie, had not their hand?
...Many other things we might give thee warning of (gentle Reader) if wee had not exceeded the measure of a Preface alreadie. It remaineth, that we commend thee to God, and to the Spirit of his grace, which is able to build further then we can aske or thinke. Hee removeth the scales from our eyes, the vaile from our hearts, opening our wits that wee may understand his word, enlarging our hearts, yea correcting our affections, that we may love it above gold and silver, yea that we may love it to the end. Ye are brought unto fountaines of living water which yee digged not; doe not cast earth into them with the Philistines, neither preferre broken pits before them with the wicked Jewes. Others have laboured, and you may enter into their labours; O receive not so great things in vaine, O despise not so great salvation! Be not like swine to treade under foote so precious things, neither yet like dogs to teare and abuse holy things. Say not to our Saviour with the Gergesites, Depart out of our coasts; neither yet with Esau sell your birthright for a messe of potage. If light be come into the world, love not darknesse more then light; if foode, if clothing be offered, goe not naked, starve not your selves. Remember the advise of Nazianzene, It is a grievous thing (or dangerous) to neglect a great faire, and to seeke to make markets afterwards: also the encouragement of S. Chrysostome, It is altogether impossible, that he that is sober (and watchfull) should at any time be neglected: Lastly, the admonition and menacing of S. Augustine, They that despise Gods will inviting them, shal feele Gods will taking vengeance of them. It is a fearefull thing to fall into the hands of the living God; but a blessed thing it is, and will bring us to everlasting blessednes in the end, when God speaketh unto us, to hearken; when he setteth his word before us, to reade it; when hee stretcheth out his hand and calleth, to answere, Here am I; here wee are to doe thy will, O God. The Lord worke a care and conscience in us to know him and serve him, that we may be acknowledged of him at the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with the holy Ghost, be all prayse and thankesgiving. Amen.
It's a pretty long read but I couldn't find anywhere that these 60 learned men ever considered themselves as Prophets writing under Divine inspiration. Certainly they did their task with much reverence and care and prayerfully undertook their duty for the glory of God.
Yeah, because I believe God's preserved word, you should give it a try, you'll be amazed at what God can do for you on a day by day basis
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Oh, probably because you told me yesterday when the questions got too hard to answer:
Actually, it got too boring. You NWO bible believers are not an exciting lot.
It's a cowardly way to participate on an OPEN thread if you ask me.
Really, then why did you tell me to leave this thread and start my own?
Now, to your answer:
I base the facts, no assumption at all, on just plain reading the texts for myself.
That's what I thought, you are your own authority. What facts? It's all based on what YOU feel you're reading is right, so therefore it must be right!
Thanks but no thanks, it's very dangerous, to be your own authority, because in the end you will carve out a god of your own making. And that is the state of the modern church, "However I want to live, God is Ok with it, because I read in my modern bible"
That is not the God of the the preserved word, that is the god of this world.
How much better to depend on the Holy Spirit who guided fifty-four of the Christian world's foremost scholars and linguists ever, all being peer reviewed by each other for a period of seven years.
Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
"Translated out of the Original tongues: & with the former Translations diligently compared and revised,
All you have with the NWO bibles is the last part, Revised, and boy do they get revised, over and over. So go ahead and trust yourself to what you feel is right, I'll stick with God's preserved word.
Oh and as far as your listed NWO bible translations on those verses are concerned, go invest in a good English dictionary, and find out what the words actually mean. Perhaps then you will realize where the NWO is leading you.
And if you don't like my answer in this reply, please keep it to yourself, because you seriously bore me.
Can you show me a verse, where God used a long drawn out process to reveal Himself to Paul?
I am sure glad God worked you out instantly and you know EVERTHING that God knows..................
You alone have not had to experience sanctification.
I will tell that pride is not a good thing. When you get to heaven you claim you followed the King James Version. I am sure it will get you a special spot.............
