I only signed up to FB a month or so ago. Going through chemo and felt like I needed another place to visit. I don’t like it much, I keep coming back here. Love FR!

I hit "abuse" on a profile this morning on a profile pic (for Cutwest ElijahMuhammed Gutrippah) that was a police officer on this back with a bullet in his head. The caption was "A good cop, is a dead cop"

I’ve never had a FB account, and never will. Even if one day things like having a bank account or a driver’s license or buying food at the market requires having one. And we’re fast heading in that direction, imo.
Almost all Facebook reviews are done from the Philippines.
We heard, and read enough to not bother joining up with facebook. No regrets.

I don't support gov't censorship. Censorship on a privately-owned website by the owner is another matter entirely. On Free Republic, progressives and those who post vile content are routinely banned, as well they should be on a website that promotes itself as a "gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web."
JimRob and Zuckerberg are free to censor to their heart's content, and I have no problem with it. If users deem the content or censorship not to their liking, they're free to leave. It's the way it's always been.
In the case of FB, I personally find their obvious double standards and progressive agenda repugnant, so I'm not a member.
There is a certain genre of internet "humor" that goes along those lines -- "Why do German showerheads have 12 holes A) because Jews have 10 fingers" -- "Why are gorillas frowning A) because somebody told them they're evolving into blacks" -- "How many potatoes does it take to starve an Irishman A) zero." -- "What did the southern sheriff call the black man with 15 bullet holes in him A) worst case of suicide the county has ever seen."
...You get the idea. The intent isn't to target the specific group being "joked" about, but to shock the audience with a jarringly impolite punchline and thus bring a fit of giggles to the immature person telling the "joke."
Here is how I got Facebook off my phone. I went on FB on a computer, in the “About/Basic Contact Info” section, I deleted my cell phone number + then logged off. Tried to get log back on w/ my phone later in the day and it put me to the opening page for my username and Login. Done Deal!

Obviously you’ve never read first hand accounts of camp inmates during the Holocaust - kids being marched into gas chambers and burned in huge stacks. Over a million and a half children under the age of 17 were slaughtered. It takes some kind of insensitive person to see any humor in that picture.
One of the worst things about society currently is that so many people, young people especially lack any sense of the sacred. Nothing is off-limits to cynicism and caustic jokery.
