Several years ago I posted a thread when I got rid of Facebook (only had it a year or two). The responses were about half 'Facebook is great' and half 'Facebook sucks'.

Facebook is unlike any other social media platform. And divorces are increasing exponentially because of it.

Facebook quickly connects you with people in your past that you had long since forgotten. And you had forgotten them for a reason. But now, all of a sudden a spouse finds herself connected to an old lover through a friend of friend. She accepts the friend request, then it leads to a few chats through the Facebook chat app which turns into flirting which eventually leads to sex, yes, an affair. Facebook is quickly becoming a predictor for divorce when it comes to married couples.

What a spouse doesn't realize is that chatting with this old lover is the same thing as picking up the phone and calling them, clearly "out of bounds" for a spouse. Somehow they think it's different, it is not. If a person found their spouse talking to an ex-lover on the phone the marriage could be in real trouble, why do these people think the Facebook chat app is any different?

I get almost nothing like that, if I do that person is blocked. You got it exactly right, FB is what you make of it, surround yourself with good people have cool stuff on your feed.

If you want to complain about Facebook's double standard, I agree. However, I don't support censorship (this is the Free Republic, right?).

If others favor censorship, do not fear: Facebook does plenty of that.

I love ghost towns and abandoned places. I get some really cool pictures on those sites. I also love MT and I get wonderful pictures from that state. I am interested in sunrises and sunsets and again, I get some wonderful pictures. My ancestors built the Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland and I belong to that page. Look it up.

The internet is as good or bad as the person using it. You can find anything, and i do mean anything, on the internet

Also, its impossible to get rid of FB. You can “delete” your account but it is still there and if you remember the password for an old deleted account you can come back 3 years later and re-activate it.
