A real good man who was on my staff in Iraq, an Iraqi national, left the country recently. He received repeated threats from local Al Qaeda and later ISIS for helping the US Army during OIF. There was always something special about this guy and we shared a bond of friendship that still endures. I believe the Lord put him on my heart for prayer and salvation. He made it to Sweden about eight months ago and is awaiting a ruling for asylum as a refugee. My prayers continued. Today I received what I thought was the answer to that prayer, he was approached by Christians and is going to church this Sunday. My jaw dropped and my joy overflowed. However, in a follow up message he told me these nice guys were from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and their book was the book of Mormon. My heart sank. I need prayer for this man and resources that I can share with him to warn him away from Mormon but into the loving arms of the one true God. If anyone has easy-to-understand resources that explain the crucial differences between Mormonism and true Christianity, please ping me or send me a freepmail.
A perfect opportunity to explain the gospel!
“Once they had shown me the Jesus they teach to outsiders (which is the same as any other Protestant church)...” close, but they do drop subtle notes in here and there as they beam their lies in under the radar. To the firm Mormon believer, Jesus is only the son of a previous son who was glorified into god-hood. Jesus taught His disciples (read John 14) that He is all of God The Father Almighty that they could perceive with their limitations of dimensional characteristics. Jesus told them that He is God with them. He is The Son of God, but He is ALSO God with them. The central god of Moronism started out as a son of a previous god, and became glorified to become a god who then has many sons, one of whom took the job of going through the crucifixion to become exalted and go on to god-hood.
Thanks B., that helps. I love this guy like a brother so it is a critical issue for me. After all these years, to come this far physically and spiritually and then this. He has a high IQ but low education. He can understand quite a bit conceptually so I want to offer him some information that will make sense to him and not derail his journey to Christ, just not sure how to do that.
Try these links. It might be helpful for you to read them as well. Start with packham and then go to mormon think.

Well, point your friend to Christ. The only person who combines all our human needs. If you start railing about mormanism that will likely turn him off to you and to God.
Let him know you care for him and his eternal soul, & continue to share the Gospel. Pray.
I will take their literal word over that of the Bible's every time.
It is not such a bad thing to deny the Word of God is it?
Thanks.
Hey thanks! I appreciate these resources.
But as a way of encouragement, I would give him a Bible if he doesn't already have one. May I also suggest getting him Essential Truths of the Christian Faith by R.C. Sproul.

Liars will not enter into Heaven even if the lies are to protect someone you think is doing the wrong thing.
Mormons have always accepted all races, Negro's however were banned from the priesthood until 1979.
Does God change his mind, ask Lot.
If any member of the LDS church is caught having any relationship with the FLDS they will be excommunicated.
We may not agree with their doctrines but the Mormon are good people, law abiding, they don't abide the perversions of the day even when made legal. Talk about their doctrines if you will but don't tell lies about them, please.
I’m exmormon and run a ministry helping people transition out of Mormonism into Christianity. The situation is not uncommmon. Mormon missionaries are taught to target those in life transition and Islam is very very similar to Mormonism - Joseph Smith even claimed to be a second Mohammed. I do have a current Mormon friend who is leaving Mormonism and some exmormon friends in Sweden I can help. Send me an FR.
I am very well versed in the differences between the two and have also pinged some other exmormons on FR.
Do you care enough about your friends to warn them they are walking off a cliff? Or can they make up their own minds?
Not if its from one cult to another.
//If God is moving your friend away from satans grasp, h/
Except he’s not.
So converting from Islam to LDS is walking off a cliff? Metaphorically speaking, I am not sure you know what you are talking about,
I am also including a link to additional apologetics, as presented by my Pastor several years ago. This series of sermons is aimed at a wider spectrum of 'seekers' than only moslems. "Why Believe?" is a series of sermons by Dr. Henry Schorr, a follow on the the Alpha Course.
I see that you have called your girlfriend for support. A weakness of faith.
How cool is that?!! How old were you when you first realized that you were given authority to speak for Him?
The word of God shall not return void
King James Bible Is 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it
[[it shall not return to me void; it is accompanied with a divine energy; it is the power of God to salvation:
but it shall accomplish that which I please; in the conversion of sinners, and comfort of saints:
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it: whether it be the savour of life unto life, or the savour of death unto death; whether for the quickening of sinners, and reviving of saints; or whether for the hardening of men, and leaving them without excuse to perish in their sins, both in the Jewish and Gentile world.]]
