A real good man who was on my staff in Iraq, an Iraqi national, left the country recently. He received repeated threats from local Al Qaeda and later ISIS for helping the US Army during OIF. There was always something special about this guy and we shared a bond of friendship that still endures. I believe the Lord put him on my heart for prayer and salvation. He made it to Sweden about eight months ago and is awaiting a ruling for asylum as a refugee. My prayers continued. Today I received what I thought was the answer to that prayer, he was approached by Christians and is going to church this Sunday. My jaw dropped and my joy overflowed. However, in a follow up message he told me these nice guys were from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and their book was the book of Mormon. My heart sank. I need prayer for this man and resources that I can share with him to warn him away from Mormon but into the loving arms of the one true God. If anyone has easy-to-understand resources that explain the crucial differences between Mormonism and true Christianity, please ping me or send me a freepmail.
So? He may be your friend but you are not his spiritual authority. He should be able to make up his own mind. Besides, what can you do?...fly to Sweden and tackle him?
Pray for him. Pray hard.
He may just be shopping around. Just be happy he may be dropping islam. The Mormons haven’t been beheading people, raping or killing dogs lately.
The Lord moves in mysterious ways
Prayers up for his path to Jesus.
The Mormon Church claimed that non-white people could never be saved until 1979. Apparently the LORD can change His mind on things if the need to be more politically accommodating arises, according to Mormonville. In a similar manner, you could also point out that their alleged denouncement s of polygamy and child marriages are simply public facades, and that many members of the ‘main’ LDS church have been proven to have ties to the notorious child diddler Warren Jeffs and his buddies in the FLDS.
Holy Spirit please guide him righteously!
If God is moving your friend away from satan’s grasp, how much interference are you comfortable with?

Hey it is better than ISLAM where Allah apparently NEVER changes his mind about killing non-believers...
God will give you the words to speak to your friend. You don’t need talking points, you already know the answers!
The Holy Spirit is working on this man, don’t be alarmed or disheartened. If he were my friend I would rather he be taken in by the Mormons in Sweden and kept alive than what is most likely an eventual death sentence in Iraq. The Lord is leading him and IMO his survival is paramount. He could be working on the Mormons too, remember they are not lost yet and they must be your “mission” as well.
Just my thoughts, I pray for your friend
1) After the flood
2) After Jesus died on the cross
Mormons brought me to Christ after 30 years of atheism. Once they had shown me the Jesus they teach to outsiders (which is the same as any other Protestant church), I had questions and their answers were not sufficient, so I left and found a real church.
But without the Mormons, I’d still be dead.
Here is my advice. Encourage him to keep studying the Scriptures. Many of us have journeys that detour, while on our journey with Christ and believers don’t always hit it right on the first try.
I think God understands this part of the journey of the believer and will not hold it against anybody if they don’t get it right. As I read my Bible, our requirements are to accept Christ and become His disciples. Everything else is more details than not.
But don’t push too hard, lest you turn him away.
Interesting that you came to Mormonism from atheism, since the majority of Mormons who abandon the LDS church become atheists.
True, but Islam a faith interested in the truth would have revealed the truth to all of its practitioners, not just practitioners living past a certain time period. One reason the death cult of Islam has so many followers is because they don’t really change their tenets around; they only pretend to do so through their doctrine of taqqiya in order to fool naive liberals into accepting them.
Sorry, remove that first “Islam”. Obviously Islam is NOT interested in the truth.
Both Islam and Mormonism are works based belief systems, so Mormonism is closer to your friends understanding. But neither Islam nor Mormonism is Christianity so there is the dividing point that must be addressed, else your friend will just fall into another demonic trap.
The most glaring fundamental flaw in Mormonism is that the God central to Mormonism is not Creator of the Universe but a glorified previous commoner in a universe.
