Sikhs have a number of reasons to be copacetic with a Christian viewpoint even though they have their own worship system. I think they would hate to see a world without Christians.

I’m a true Catholic. I even attend the Latin Mass. What you just said there is completely wrong. All people who believe in the Trinity and are properly baptized are Christians whether they are Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox (yes, there’s a difference), or Protestant. A Protestant isn’t Catholic, but he most certainly is Christian. And that’s EXACTLY what the Catholic Church teaches and that’s EXACTLY what the pope believes and teaches as well.

I should also point out that the Christians in this world suffering from persecution the most are Catholics and Orthodox in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Protestants are suffering too, but the majority are Catholics and Orthodox.

Agreed and I considered that before posting. However the article is based on a piece in La Journal du Dimanche entitled Pourquoi le pape veut se rendre au Kremlin".

Here's the key line:

So this info has its origin in France (which may not be a whole lot better)rather than the Kremlin.

Since you have mentioned it more than once, I guess it annoys you. I’ll keep it then. Perhaps “you’d be taken a LITTLE more seriously” if you didn’t prove my tagline to be true.

America doesn't have the Catholic/Orthodox traditions that Russia does, and I don't expect it to. However, it would be a big help if His Holiness would quit denigrating traditionalists, who make up a big chunk of American Catholics. It's beginning to look as though he hates us. Given that, it's hard to support whatever efforts he might make to aid Christians in Muslim countries.

Can't argue with that. Even if it is pure posturing on Putin's fact, the mere fact that he says he is doing it to protect Christians is powerful.
