Monsignor Pope Ping!
Only God knows the day, the time or the hour.
Not true!
What do you mean?
Yes what do you mean? Can you elaborate?
Thank you for this Blessing, Salvation.
It’s extremely hard to imagine a person- one individual, who will be followed by most everyone. I imagine it would be like a scorpion sting, appendicitis, or falling in love (or falling into hate). You’ll definitely know it when you see/ feel it. And when you do, it will be like nothing you’ve ever seen or felt before.
Personally, I think we’re getting closer, but how much closer, no one truly knows. Except for God, the Father.
>> Many now live off the carcass of a culture built by the Christian vision of sacrifice, discipline, tolerance (properly understood), family, generosity, and accountability to God.
That is one well-crafted statement. Concise, graphic, and true.
I really love these posts. He has a special insight regarding these matters.
I agree that the low lifes are living off the good and generosity of the Christians of the world.
It is. And right on time, too. It’s something many of us are especially aware of right now.
I love ‘hearing’ this man!
He’s just figuring this out?
Non-Catholics have been saying this for years.
Is someone Catholic now going to admit that a non-Catholic could be right about something?
Who would have thought?
We have been in the last days since Christ ascended into Heaven.
Now are we at the end of that period? Seems like we are getting pretty close.
The answer to the question is almost certainly no. Throughout the last 20 years people have predicted the end of the world and the imminent doing of Jesus. As you may know those predictions are all false. So nail biting and chicken little behavior is not going to change anything. Either we will see it or we will not. Interpreting events is subject to individual interpretation and has always been wrong.
Is this a caucus thread?... LOL
>> I love âhearingâ this man!
I deeply appreciate and enjoy good preaching, and Msgr. Pope is among my very favorite “preachers”. He is an excellent Bible scholar and analyst and historian as well as a great “exhorter and reprover” in the best sense of those words. All this, and conservative too!
And I’m not even Catholic. I’m Protestant. :-)
I’m not meaning to offend anyone, but you could take Msgr. Pope and dress him up like a Baptist or a Presbyterian or a Lutheran or a Methodist or an Evangelical clergy, stick him in a pulpit in a CONSERVATIVE congregation (those DO exist, by the way), let him preach any one of about 80% of his blog entries, and he’d get rave reviews and a plea to come back soon.
I’d love to meet the man.
I know exactly what you mean. LOL I’m not Catholic, either. DH is- & we share our faith back & forth, but I was raised & remain, Church of Christ. There is a Southern Baptist preacher here who is Msgr Pope’s counterpart in that church. They have online media & I listen to him, too.
He, too, seems to be talking about exactly what I need to hear when I need it most. And I ‘’stumbled across’’ him they same way I did this. :-) Kinda like the stray that ‘’knows’’ to come up to you when they’re hungry & thirsty.
It’s great that we can access all these points of view & they mesh together beautifully. Sometimes, almost like it was planned that way (hmmm).
I agree with you, so doesn’t offend me!
Ditto. I would drive several hundred miles to hear him speak.
God Bless!
But we are commanded to know the season
That’s funny right there....
:D
