>> I love âhearingâ this man!
I deeply appreciate and enjoy good preaching, and Msgr. Pope is among my very favorite “preachers”. He is an excellent Bible scholar and analyst and historian as well as a great “exhorter and reprover” in the best sense of those words. All this, and conservative too!
And I’m not even Catholic. I’m Protestant. :-)
I’m not meaning to offend anyone, but you could take Msgr. Pope and dress him up like a Baptist or a Presbyterian or a Lutheran or a Methodist or an Evangelical clergy, stick him in a pulpit in a CONSERVATIVE congregation (those DO exist, by the way), let him preach any one of about 80% of his blog entries, and he’d get rave reviews and a plea to come back soon.
I’d love to meet the man.
I know exactly what you mean. LOL I’m not Catholic, either. DH is- & we share our faith back & forth, but I was raised & remain, Church of Christ. There is a Southern Baptist preacher here who is Msgr Pope’s counterpart in that church. They have online media & I listen to him, too.
He, too, seems to be talking about exactly what I need to hear when I need it most. And I ‘’stumbled across’’ him they same way I did this. :-) Kinda like the stray that ‘’knows’’ to come up to you when they’re hungry & thirsty.
It’s great that we can access all these points of view & they mesh together beautifully. Sometimes, almost like it was planned that way (hmmm).
I agree with you, so doesn’t offend me!
Ditto. I would drive several hundred miles to hear him speak.
God Bless!
Amen!
