The madness of King George III is alive and well. Even today.

When mans law contradicts God’s law then we msut choose who to obey and serve. The RC’s must now decide who they will obey, Christ who is the God of life or obama who serves the god of death.

They cannot serve and obey both.

I’m sure that there are some compassionate judges that believe it will ‘only be fair’ if the fines they levy against these discenting Catholic organizations will exceed the entire worth of the universal Catholic Church. And I wonder which one of the judges will think it is only proper that they get the Pieta as their share of the fine?

(Sarcasm that may, unfortunately, verge on the truth)

I did not expect ever to see this level of oppression in the United States of America. I underestimated the evil of the political left, a common mistake and one that may be a deadly error for millions of people. Restoring freedom could well be the most costly task in the history of our country. I pray that it will be done - peacefully if that is an option.

They will not force you to violate your faith...

They will just fine you, take away tax exempt status, and take away school certification.

The best thing that these religious institutions in Washington DC is to close shop. Move to a more friendly states. Then tell these liberals, socialists and communists in the DC government to operate without them. Let’s see how long they last.

Well, this is where the rubber meets the road. The days of religious freedom are all but over in the US.

The days of avoiding the fight are over, and individuals as well as the Church at large is going to have to make a choice. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Don’t worry folks, the Pope will be here in September and he will straighten everything out with his good buddy Obama. The Pope is coming here to promote religious liberty isn’t he?

This is a badly rogue regime.

Maybe it needs a travesty of this magnitude to get people to care about the Lord again. When the only plausible help left is that from heaven.

If the Obama administration were so bent on furnishing the product, it could come up with other ways to do it. That isn’t the goal. The goal is to subjugate faiths to the secular will, and every one of them should take sharp notice here.

“We concluded that the regulation challenged in this case does not, as a matter of law or fact, give plaintiffs’ conduct the contraception-facilitating effect of which they complain,” stated the majority ruling, written by Judge Nina Pillard, in denying relief from the mandate under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

The plaintiffs have to pay for it. I guess that is not enough of a nexus to convince some judges that there is a nexus.

I know, I know: under the Obama accommodation, it is true that the plaintiffs don't have to pay for an insurance policy containing contraceptives as a stated benefit. Instead they have to pay exactly the same price for a policy which is silent on contraceptive benefits, with said benefits, as a matter of law, being provided "free" by the insurance company. I guess you have to go to an elite law school to perceive a difference.

Paging His Emminence Cardinal Dola, who cut the deal with his Obamaness and then sold it to the flock.

These lower courts keep ignoring the rulings of the Supreme Court on these issues.

If I was a Supreme, I would be pissed off.

If an issue has already been decided, if there something the Court can do to rule on a case without hearing it?

So difficult to understand:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

In 1914 the Catholic Bishops as a corporate body demanded socialized medicine. Now they and we have it. They don't like it, but unfortunately it's the Catholics in the pews, not the Bishop in the Chancery, who will bear the brunt of it. I find it doesn't really help to say, "We told you so."
