Remember this. Everything that once was Christendom, is now, after 1400 years Islam due to at least 548 Islamic Crusades.

The fact that Jesus is being called over and over, the son of Mary, is telling to me. Men were referred to as the son of their father. Calling him the son of his mother is another way of calling Jesus a bastard with no father. It’s actually an insult and most likely meant to be.

I agree. When it plays this weekend I will watch my recordings of The Passion of the Christ and King of Kings.

Nowhere does the Catholic Church pre-Vatican II teach that Muslims worship the same God as we do. Vatican II was more interested in being all PC and “ecumenical”.

The modern Catholic Church has defined her relations to non-Christian religions in a document entitled Nostra Aetate. The section on Islam begins thus:

The Church regards with esteem also the Muslims. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all-powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to men.

Their own catechism says as much. Any claim that the catechism is being misunderstood IMO should cite a document least as authoritative as the catechism, if we're supposed to take it seriously.

Not really. One was a religion that existed for thousands of years. The other was created from the fertile imagination of a homicidal maniac. That same mind, illiterate with just enough understanding of the narrative of Judaism and Christianity to be dangerous, created an alternative version of the Bible in which the Arabs were the stars.

There was never a dispute between Abraham's sons, or their descendants, as to which of them was heir to any promises by God. Isaac's sons founded Judaism. Ishmaels went off and continued their pagan ways, for thousands of years. Then the tale was rewritten, that's all, like an alternative history that says that the South won the Civil War. Such a story does not create a dispute over who won, and someone who contends the south won is just a liar, or the follower of one. Same thing here.

Wrong. There have been and are many false gods held by man. Allah is a god but not God. Big difference. Zeus was a god worshipped by ancient Greeks. He certainly is not God. Hindus have millions of gods. None being God or a God. In their hearts and minds only do they exist.

Bush isn’t a religious authority.

The Roman Catholic Catechism is. Well, to Roman Catholics anyway.

My God, sent His only Son to die for me.
Their god wants me to send my son to die for him.

I will not speculate on the motives of the modern Catholic hierarchy for making this false assertion.

Their motive is fear. They are afraid to be politically incorrect

Interesting that everyone upstream answers with a resounding no. Yet no one provides an authoritative source from Rome that usurps the teaching of the Roman Catholic Catechism..

No, it’s because they are modernist, non-Catholic heretics.

"...Islam are monotheistic religions..."

Correction, islam is a cult which has "death to all non-believers" as its ideological prime directive.

re: According to the Catechism, ‘together with us (Catholics) they (Muslims) adore the one, merciful God.’ Pope John Paul II repeats this statement even more clearly. Addressing Muslim youths, the Pope said: ‘We believe in the same God, the one and only God, the living God, the God who creates worlds and brings creatures to their perfection’ (What Dialogue Means for Catholics and Muslims, US Conference of Catholic Bishops, http://www.usccb.org/seia/brunett.htm).

This is beyond irrational. I may have two small white pills. One is an aspirin and the other is arsenic. So they are both small and white. But it would be crazy to conclude that they are the same. There were those in ancient times who believed in Baal or Molech. Does that mean that they were actually worshipping the one true God of the Bible? If the Pope or anyone else believes that one they have missed one of the biggest messages in the entire Bible.

***So no ‘Allah’ is NOT YHWH. The Muslims worship a different ‘god.’***

Of course He isn’t. Of course they do.

But that isn’t the question!
