However, the foundational principles of Protestantism contradict the Holy Scripture. That is a serious problem.

Please explain.........................

Continuing the fallout from my 1630; I am pinging the original particiants.

If they are monumental theological constructs, they can hardly be at the same time -- superstitions

If you start -- as you (collectively) do from "Salvation is by faith alone" and the Bible says the exact opposite, then two things will happen: (1) You will have to build terabytes of verbal fluff to create an appearance of legitimacy and (2) the result will remain a superstition no matter how many layers of "good works will result from faith secondarily" meme you repeat.

Similar if you start with "the Bible is the complete rule of faith" when the Bible does not say that, but instead says that the Church is who makes the rules, then again, you will produce very lengthy obfuscatory materials and you will still have created nothing but superstition.

for he did not say that, but was selectively quoted as if he did say that

Right. Because the bottom line is what I said, whether he meant to express it more aerodynamically or not.

Calvin writing of pneumatic or spiritual presence

That is in error as well. The presence is in the body as well as soul and divinity. Calvin did not understand the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, nor, in fact much of anything else.

“Mother of God” is pagan blasphemy.

What should explaining the Catholic teachings require patience? It only requires time, but I am finding some.

Exasperation comes from the expectation that your conversation partner will say “Ah, now I understand and convert to Catholicism”. That will never happen on the thread. Much later, — perhaps; but you are not likely to hear from him if it happens. Write for the anonymous reader, not for the heckler that made it his hobby to contradict the Church.

apostles didn't make that distinction

St. Paul, for example, wrote of the blood in the Eucharist without hesitation, and he was present at the Jerusalem council also:

Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. (1 Cor. 11:27)

The word venerate is not the same as the word worship

Indeed. Thank you.

Thanks. I am trying to keep up with posts but I have a terrible costochondritis flare up. I feel like a semi decided to park on my chest. This cool weather is not helping any. I need a magic pill. Take one and all pain is gone! I really do not nderstand all these crazy catholic beliefs. The more they say, the more it sounds like a cult. Why would anyone want to change the Bible? Why would anyone pray to Mary, statues, etc? I just do not nderstand. They can deny it but I have seen it with my own eyes. I do not feel like going out but amazon has 2 day shipping so I may order a few things. I do not have my tree or any other decorations up. Just have not felt like it. First, my surgery then a severe UTI and now this. Like I told a friend, God sure must be trying to teach me something! Merry Christmas.

“Continuing the fallout from my 1630; I am pinging the original particiants.”

I understood what you were saying. I don’t understand why others don’t!

Everyone sinned including Mary or don’t you believe what the Bble says about all have sinned? The Bibe does not say except for Mary.

Indeed. The real problem is that Protestantism starts from a number of counter-scriptural assumptions and yet beats itself on the chest how “scriptural” their belief system is. Naturally, the Catholic Church that Jesus built is a big problem for you.

Does the Holy Spirit speak directly and only to you? Why would He not speak to others, as well? Not sarcasm, an honest question.

make them both (Paradise and Heaven) the same?

One should distinguish the Paradise of our creation and the Paradise of our destination. In this verse, Jesus clearly speaks of the Paradise of our destination since that is where he ascended and what is His eternal home. Why did he use this verbiage? Possibly because He was speaking to a man not among His disciples, who never heard Christ's discourses of the Heavenly Kingdom and would not readily understand the term; while Paradise is something every Jew knew something about.

You have a theory that Jesus and the Good Thief went someplace else? Tell us more.

we are all to pray for one another and for those who are lost. But we are not to pray to someone

That makes no sense. If we are to intercede for others then we should expect others to pray for our intercession as well.

apostle Paul was clearly convinced of Scriptures.

That all Catholics are, along with St. Paul. But where does the Holy Scripture say that it is the complete rule of faith? I can show you where it says that the Church is the complete rule of faith.

thus deliberately defiling them

LOL. And the celebrants of the wedding thanked Him for defiling their washroom. Riiight.
