Is Prayer/Veneration/Worship to Mary Biblical?
self | 12-14-14 | ealgeone

Posted on 12/14/2014 11:57:21 AM PST by ealgeone

The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not man’s standard.

Do you deny the sufficiency of the Blood of our Lord?

Your works and mine are filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord!

We do works because we love Him...not because they can earn us credit.

Those who die without sin do not go to Purgatory.

“I was asked a question and I answered it. To not do so is rude.”

Makes sense and I commend you on your desire to be mannered.

"Most Catholic threads are sourced and not vanities! Did you notice that?

Which means what exactly? They they are sourced vanities? The source makes a difference and not the content? Have you ever noticed that a person with a "victim mentality" runs to the moderator over trivia?

Jesus died for all of humanity (including his mother).

Purgatory is BS. There are only fabricated reconstructions of Scripture that point to such a thing.

Purgatory was pagan before it was Christian...and it became Christian in the middle ages when it served a purpose (for raising money).

I don't trust the Catholic Church anymore than I trust the Protestant Churches.

Humans cannot be trusted...only God can be trusted.

From "Why I Am a Catholic" -- What I Saw In Bethlehem Yesterday (A Photo Essay)

The Church of the Annunciation

we went to The Shepherd’s Field afterwards and saw the grotto in which the shepherds rested when they were not on watch.

Inside the cave, pilgrims venerated the site where the Christ, the one who came into the world, made his literal advent.

Awed Silence

The church where Jesus’s cousin, the greatest of all of those born of women, arrived six months before He did.

There was no crowd when we paid homage to St. John the Baptist. Nevertheless, he is praying for us all now. Thanks be to God.

The thief to whom Jesus said “You will be with me this day in paradise”, for one; his sins were forgiven him.

Also, anyone whose sins are forgiven under the Sacrament of Reconciliation, after actual repentance, and who does not again sin after said forgiveness.

You are praying to the dead!

Isaiah 8:19...

And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

Leviticus 19:31

“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

You are not a criminal...you were not crucified.

You too will be in Paradise with Jesus at the moment of your death (provided you are devout...and I have confidence that you are).

This purgatory stuff is BS. It brought money into the Church when it was needed...but it was still BS.

Why do protestants, like liberals, attack the things they fear or can’t understand?

Prots don’t fear Catholics...they are trying to reconcile with them...in the name of the Lord!

Presenting lies about Catholics and the Catholic Church are sure a funny way of doing that.

Catholics do not worship Mary. The Catholic Church condemns as idolatry the worship of anyone or anything other than God. This article is anti-Catholic bigotry.

Protestant churches have plenty of lies too...and we don't hesitate to expose them when we stumble upon them. Well...at least some of us try.

The Lord connects us with directly and not through a human invention!

Churches, Catholic and Protestant, are to be scrutinized in the light of the Word.

May God bless you.

I’m not Catholic but, you’re wrong.

The title sheds light that “Premise and Outcome” were forgone, due to bias.
