If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Got the food stashed? It's almost time!!! It's almost time!!! It's almost time!!!
"Logan went to his regular ped. this morning and he now weighs a whopping 8 lbs. 8 oz!!! Not the 9 lbs. they were hoping for, but sure close enough.
His meds were not increased for the reflux since he doesn't weigh 9 lbs. yet, but I suspect that as soon as he reaches that magic number, they will be. Reflux is still a big problem with him.
He thought that he looked wonderful and is doing great :)
An appointment is going to be made for him to be circumcised. Hopefully it can be done after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. That way his mommy will be able to care for him. Because of all of the problems he had, it wasn't done in the hospital, so the longer they wait, the rougher it will be for him. Poor little fellow. He also has what they call hydrocell of his testicles which causes them to be full and swollen looking. This will be drained when he is circumcised. The doctor did check this out carefully and said that it was clear, i.e., no intestines that had "seeped" into the scrotum. Well that's good news!!!!
Logan is now doing floor exercises to strengthen his back, arms and legs. Hard to build muscles in these areas when everyone is holding him in their arms loving him!!! He's not used to being on his tummy and with the monitor wires and the canula tube, things gets pulled and pushed in the wrong direction, but all in all, he's doing ok with it. He is exercised at least 4 times a day. This baby has rarely been put on his stomach because it has affected his breathing so much. So this is a whole new experience for him.
Now his swing is a different story! The boy loves his swing as evidenced by some of the pictures. After the first few minutes he was put into it, from then on, he's decided that the gentle sway of it feels sooooo good :)
As Thanksgiving is but days away, we are eternally grateful and thankful for all of our FRamily and FRiends who have helped us along the way with Logan. It truly will be a joyful house having this little miracle and those bright shiny eyes of his embracing our world this year.
God bless you all..... each day in our family's prayers, we pray for all. We thank God for the opportunity to have you share Logan's beginning with us....
To you all.... good health, happiness, safe haven, and Happy Thanksgiving. And please remember to pray for our troops and their safety.
