CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said Tuesday on “The Source” that during the New York business record case, adult film star Stormy Daniels’ cross-examination by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers was “disastrous.”
Honig said, “It’s hard for me to believe that a juror heard that and thought, this is entirely made up. There may well be some embellishments…but I think it’s quite clear they had sex in 2006 in that hotel room. But the cross-exam, boy, her responses were disastrous. I mean, ‘Do you hate Donald Trump?’ Yes. Of course, she does. That’s a big deal. When the witness hates the person whose liberty is at stake, that’s a big damn deal. And she’s putting out tweets, fantasizing about him being in jail. That really undermines the credibility.”

Not so sure about that. The Appellate Division is the court that knocked down the required bond in the civil case. Sadly there are rabid judges out there like Bergeron and Marchand and the CO Supreme Court and lifetime federal judges, as a group, are more rogue than state judges, in my experience. But there are judges of decided political persuasion who will still judge fairly. Parenthetically, apropos to the CO Supremes, note that their decision in the ballot exclusion was a one vote majority, though all the justices are rats
Plus, I forget who it was who said supreme court justices read the papers, and it’s true. This travesty has been denounced by legal experts on both sides. Courts are concerned with their prestige. The record is already riddled with judicial error, and I think the appellate court might have a hard time just rubber stamping it

I can’t believe anyone in the legal community is taking this case seriously. It clearly has only one purpose, which is to disable the Trump campaign, and punish Trump himself for standing up to the deep state. Nobody, the judge, the prosecutor, the witnesses, has produced anything remotely qualifying as evidence of legal wrongdoing. Sham show trial.
