Russia Points North – "You Will Suffer First of All"
MSN- Dagens ^ | 12-28 | Henrik Rothen

"Russia has never threatened Finland in modern history. We had no reason for confrontation," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian state news agency Tass.

The tone intensified further after Finland announced a few days before Christmas that it was initiating a new defense agreement with the USA, granting the country access to 15 bases on Nordic soil.

Both Sweden and Finland applied for NATO membership last year after Russia initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, fundamentally shaking the security situation in Europe.

Sweden's application is still pending approval, while Finland formally joined the defense alliance as a full member last spring. Consequently, the country transitioned from a neutral state to a "hostile actor," according to the Putin regime, which is now issuing a harsh warning against Sweden's neighboring country.

According to Russia, Finland will not only taste the consequences of joining NATO. The country will also be first in line to suffer if tensions between Russia and the Western world escalate further, warns Russian diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov, as reported by Reuters.

"They have lived in peace and suddenly found themselves between Russia and NATO as a member of that alliance," Ulyanov stated.

"Will Suffer First" Mikhail Ulyanov, serving as the permanent representative of Russia to international organizations in Vienna, adds:

"But since they are our neighbors, if God forbid there is any escalation, they will be the first to suffer."

"A Big Mistake" Russia has repeatedly issued warnings against Finland recently, not only due to NATO membership. The fact that Finland closed its eastern border in November also provoked the Putin regime.

"One cannot send a clearer signal than this. We are now defending Finland together if someone attacks us," said Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen at a press conference.

Perhaps. But you have to admit there isn’t anyone, to look up to in federal government and around 9/10s of state and local government

Russia has already bitten off more than it can chew. Contemplating a war with Finland is just a ludicrous joke.

The Russian economy is withered to the point of shambles. Air traffic to far-flung locations in in doubt because there is a serious lack of regular maintenance on the Air Bus and Boeing jets that make up most of the Russian civil aviation capacity. And that is just one example of the withering.

Russia, the last time you tried this Finland kicked your butts.

The last time you sort of won a war it was with the US sending you supplies. Not sure we should have done that but whatever.

As the USSR you could not beat Finland, as Imperial Russia you could not beat Japan.

Just stop. You are really bad at war.

“And since nobody sees a problem with putting nuclear weapons on Russia’s border, I’m sure that nobody would object to the same in Cuba.”

You do know, I assume, that Russia has nukes on NATO borders, and has for decades?

And, please identify specifically just where Western nukes are on Russia’s border.

NATO nukes are in Britain and France (those are their own weapons); neither of which borders Russia. There are US nukes in five NATO countries: Belgium; Germany; Italy; the Netherlands; and Turkey; neither of which shares a border with Russia.

Facts are stubborn things.

But by adding Russia-adjacent nations to NATO, that move will be next. NATO is nothing about protecting the nations within, and everything about expanding and punishing nations that choose to NOT be WEF globalists.

The US and NATO have no intention of containing Russia - they want to eliminate Russia. Why? Because it’s all about power to them.

Again, the biggest enemies of the American people and her constitution do not lie in Russia but in Washington, DC. From open borders to lawless democrat cities to the trannies and pedophiles to unsustainable national debt to just plain trying to destroy our constitutional republic, the feds are working overtime to do what Russia has no intention of doing - destroy our nation.

“Perhaps. But you have to admit there isn’t anyone, to look up to in federal government and around 9/10s of state and local government.”

That’s mostly true.

But that brings up an interesting question: Why do those FReepers gravitate to some other country’s thuggish leader? I suggest to you that it isn’t because they oppose thuggery; it is because the thuggish leader in their own country is not THEIR thuggish leader. They like the other guy’s thuggish leader.

Oh, BS. You need to stop listening to late night talk radio.

“The US and NATO have no intention of containing Russia - they want to eliminate Russia. Why? Because it’s all about power to them.”

You’re clueless. If we had wanted to eliminate Russia we would have done it in 1992, right after the collapse of the USSR, when Russia was in turmoil and disarray; and we were coming off a huge military victory in Iraq, and at the top of our game.

“Again, the biggest enemies of the American people and her constitution do not lie in Russia but in Washington, DC. From open borders to lawless democrat cities to the trannies and pedophiles to unsustainable national debt to just plain trying to destroy our constitutional republic, the feds are working overtime to do what Russia has no intention of doing - destroy our nation.”

We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We can do both; and we are working toward that end. But, don’t you realize that our global foes are very much involved in fomenting the destruction of our country? Would you suggest we fight one evil, and ignore the other evil that is striking us when we are pre-occupied with former?

It baffles me, a number of them have turned against America and the West and are now hoping for our defeat by the powers hostile to us.

They see Putin and sometimes Xi as the strong men who can bring order to the chaos they feel they are enduring in the white world.

This is another milestone for the Kremlin. Over the last 22 months, they have had numerous successes in their glorious struggle against fascists, neocons and the World Economic Forum:

1. Invaded a foreign country, and then left a commie junk yard between Chernobyl and Kiev.

2. Got tens of thousands of their own people killed.

3. Launched a fortune in expensive weapons into poorly constructed soviet-era apartment buildings.

4. Got rid of Prigozhin after he made fools out of Putin and the Degenerate Tuvan on live TV.

5. Sold oil to Chinese and Indian interests at a discount, as opposed to selling at market prices.

6. Lost gas export capacity due to unfortunate developments involving the Nord Stream route.

7. Lost Russian-owned gas storage capacity in Western Europe to nationalization.

8. Created a cottage industry for videos of exploding Russian things.

9. Caused NATO to grow.

10. And made NATO relevant again, something even NATO couldn't do.

On the other side of the ledger, the Kremlin has failed to eliminate the neocon/nazi/WEF menace. More important, they failed to secure the land over the pipelines across southern Ukraine to Uzhgorod, where all that Rooshin gas has to go to get to the hard currency markets.

Yup.

I am reminded of Samuel Adams statement: “We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

—> No; the bases were pre-existing Finnish installations. Finland just approved NATO access to those installations. So, “we” didn’t put 15 bases on the Russian border.

They were Finnish bases.

They are now unfettered access by the US military.

“They are now unfettered access by the US military.”

And you continue to lie.

Even your own source (the link you posted) does not support your claim.

First off, the agreement hasn’t even yet been approved by the Finnish parliament. Moreover, the article said absolutely nothing about your hyperbolic claim of “unfettered” access by the US military.
