If McCarthy hadn’t supported McConnell’s neutering the new House, he’d probably be Speaker already.
If you mean for the Presidency, the last election shows that the states that Trump needs are firmly in the Democrat’s hands for rigged elections.
I had thought that if Trump could be shown to have control of the Congress after 2022, the electoral map might change by 2024.
Instead, it looks like the Swamp has control. We will have a Donk Senate and a do-nothing House - to pin the disasters on the pink-elephants. Of course, everyone will still blame the out-of-power Trump.
Trump is trying to make deals with the devil now. He thinks that they will let him run and possibly win if he plays ball. The GOP on the national level is totally in bed with the enemy. Nothing changes with them in charge of what’s left of the republican party as we continue to barrel towards The Great Reset.
Trump is playing the game to save his chances in 2024. He compromised with the Deep State on Pence. Now he is sucking up to the Deep State on McCarthy because he needs the GOP wing of the Deep State to have any chance at winning. What he does not see is that the Deep State is loyal to the Deep State. IF Trump wins the nomination in `24 it will be over the machinations of the Deep State to prevent his victory.
His depth perception is equal, so sure.
It doesn’t matter to him. Anyone that doesn’t have the exact same opinion as he does is a TDS loser.

McCarthy is going to get the job regardless of what Trump says. Trump opposing him and then losing this battle will just make him look even weaker. So, Trump is just trying to jump to the front of the McCarthy parade.
I don’t disagree. I believe he is the only game in town, so support him.
Perhaps this is his problem, though. No one knows what he wants until he belatedly announces it. His supporters think that they know what MAGA is, and who is the Swamp. It does them no good, however, to try to anticipate Trump.
If he has a strategy he is following, he is keeping it secret, even from his supporters.
Then name a better, more perfect president ?
Trump is not a God, but he was the best I’ve ever seen.
I think the weak minded are the ones holding out for the perfect, which is the enemy of the good.
I’ve got a mental picture of this guy. It involves him sitting in one of those cheap metal fold up chairs outside of a trailer, shaking his fist at the cars that drive by.
Yet no one is asking what Republican voters want.
I have a sneaky suspicion it’s not McCarthy.
Might be worth to vote for McCarthy as Speaker but to put him on a short leash. If he messes up, vote him out (Boehner got replaced by Ryan).
I doubt Trump was directly involved in the negotiations. More likely he got a call from his “friend” Kevin and asked to make a supportive statement.
McCarthy is Lucy and GOP reps are Charlie Brown. Don’t believe McCarthy!

I'm just as curious as the next person, but I know three things...
1) I'm no Trump, but we have one. And he's what we need.
2) I trust the guy.
3) I have a life that needs to be lived. I'm ready if he needs me, but until then I've got bleep I need to do.
I just thank God daily that we have the man.
