Sen. Pat Toomey not expected to run for reelection: report

The political future of Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey is unknown, according to a report today, indicating that he may not run for reelection or for governor of Pennsylvania in 2022.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news Sunday, citing two people familiar with his plans.

While the 58-year-old Republican senator is expected to serve out his current term, he is not expected to seek another term or to run for governor, for which he was seen as a likely GOP candidate, according to the Inquirer.

Toomey is expected to make an announcement Monday morning, spokesman Steve Kelly said.

He has served in the U.S. Senate since 2011 and is now the only Republican holding a non-judicial statewide elective office in Pennsylvania.

Barletta had some pretty mediocre ratings among a lot of conservative organizations that rate House and Senate members over the years. That should have served him well in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans among registered voters.

One of the globalists' favorite pet hamsters on the Hill- they must have found something else for him.

Wonder how much wreckage he can cause on his way out.

Unfortunately far too many people vote for who they've learned to live with as a representative.....Rhino or not they vote for the familiar. Which is also why the Representatives stay in politics forever!

If Trump wins; the Republicans hold the Senate and can take the House, any Republican going back to squishy, spineless Paul Ryanoism must be held accountable. We have to hold their GOPee feet, legs, and butt to the proverbial fire. No more appeasers, they have to grow a pair or resign and let someone that will “reach across the aisle” with a Louisville Slugger take their seat.

"Might have been necessary as Santorum bit the dust in 2006."

Once though of pRick as the worst wasted talent of the last 20 years. Numbskull staff made him bite on ridiculous shit like banning the NWS in favor of private weather forecasting enterprises, and sure enough he had taken money from same. NWS is .0001% of the Budget. Pick your goddamn fights.

And then his repeated presidential electoral stompings made him anathema, except to CNN who uses him as a doofus punching bag. Dude is deluded.

Positioning himself for a 2024 primary challenge vs Pence viz Pence as Trump's 3rd term.

I'll settle for the hot take which is, Toomey's handpuppets are convinced Trump is getting a 2nd term.

Which is kind of wild, given Toomey could have had a Cabinet had he played this even marginally better.

Great news, at least the little prick gave us a 2 year heads up.

I was never going to vote for him again, I wouldn't vote for a demonRAT, but I'd have left that spot open.

He was such a disappointment, but every PA senator in my life has been a disappointment, except John Heinz, and he was killed in a plane crash while serving in the senate.

Santorum was the closest thing we had to a real senator, but he couldn't get re-elected in a club where almost everyone gets re-elected.

Just the right age and experience to make his fortune as a lobbyist. Just like with term limits, there needs to be a five-year moratorium after serving in the House, Senate or Executive Branch before you can be a lobbyist.
