My Strange Starbucks Experience

Starbucks XXXXXX Charleston, SC 29401

XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX December 28, 2017

Dear sir/madam:

I am writing to describe my experience at Starbucks at XXXXXXXXXXX Charleston, SC 29401, which occurred on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 around 4:15 pm.

My friend XXXXXXX and I had finished touring the XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX house, and decided we had enough time to go to Starbucks for a cup of coffee. What happened after we got to Starbucks was both humorous, and at the same time troubling.

I ordered the coffee, and XXXXXX excused himself to the restroom. A couple of minutes later, I received a cell phone call from XXXXXX, who stated there was no toilet paper in the restroom. At that time I notified the gentleman who had prepared the coffee, and he said he would send someone right away. I offered to take the toilet paper to the restroom since he was very busy, but he said he had already told someone, and they would take it shortly.

When the young lady took the toilet paper to XXXXXX, whose hand was outstretched from behind the door, she kind of threw it at his hand. She then made the statement that she was not allowed to touch a customer's hand. Since XXXXXXX could not see the roll coming, it naturally was not caught and hit the floor. She then picked it off the floor and placed it into Louis's hand. She also made the comment that the homeless people were stealing the toilet paper, with the implication that probably was why none was available.

May I suggest you might want to counsel your employees on the wonderful clensing properties of anti-bacterial soap when properly applied during hand washing, and the desirability of checking the restrooms periodically, so that this type of incident does not occur. I do want to stress that all the employees at this Starbucks during this incident were courteous and friendly. Fortunately, this December 6 experience was not a usual one for me as a Starbucks customer.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXX-XXXX

As much as I deplore Starbucks, I have to hand it to them; they have convinced a large amount of people to pay 6 dollars for “coffee” that tastes like stain remover..

A free McDonald coffee comes with the breakfast meals ... I always leave it outside on a table for free to whoever wants it. Undrinkable.

I have to fact-check here--not the strange story, which I can believe, but the comments about Starbuck's coffee.

Stipulated: The company was started by a self-indulgent wacko, who naturally became a good Commie capitalist. And there's nothing as small-time and devoutly deluded as SJWs from the Northwest. Their corporate reaction to getting "caught" protecting their customers by evicting freeloading psychos proves it.

But Starbucks does not charge 5.00 for a cup of coffee, unless you order a grocery shelf full of candy to be dumped into it. Their price for a 12-ounce cup of regular or dark roast is the same $2 you'll pay at DD's or McD's or anywhere else. And it's very good coffee--if you like strong coffee. If you don't, you don't, but it's not burnt or otherwise gross. It's got more in common with what you'd get in Italy or somewhere. It's not for everyone. But they make money for a reason--or maybe you don't believe capitalism works? You can't fool people for as long as they've been in business, which is about 30 years. I also find Starbuck's customer service to be generally top-notch, delivered by quite normal people.

Some prefer McDonald's, which I find weak. Or DD's, which lacks zip and quality, to me. But it's just a matter of taste. If you like strong coffee and you'd rather not patronize Starbuck's, Seattle's Best is also very good with a similar product, and you can buy it in bags at lots of supermarkets. Whatever your brew--enjoy!

Coffee. A gift from God, and healthy, too.

Once upon a time America lacked coffee shops and people needed them. Then the mighty James Sinegal and the crafty Jerry Baldwin met in Seattle to plan for the future. Sinegal learned from Gemco and created Costco. Baldwin learned from Alfred Peet and created Starbucks. Now there are coffee shops in every neighborhood and America lived happily ever after.

Peet’s: the gold standard
Starbucks: the large volume of beans leads to low quality
Dunkin Donuts: pretty darn good
McDonald’s: coffee is clean but lattes come from dirty machines.
Folgers: still around after all these years

The smallest coffee is called “tall” at $1.85. The large, called “grande” is $2.10 and the ginormous which fills my trucker coffee canteen ... really big is $2.85.

Lord knows where you are going.

I go to a starbux about once a year. That’s pretty weird.

I found a local joint in my town that roasts their own beans.

There’s no comparison to the chain coffee swill.

I’m not a coffee connoisseur, I’m a coffee drinker. I can drink just about anything. Lived with my grandparents and my grandpa boiled coffee on the stove then strained it. From there he went to an old style percolator. I grew up on coffee. He gave me a cup every morning with my breakfast before I went to school. Then I married a firefighter. Been married 36 years and had some of my worst coffee in the stations he worked at.
Starbucks is worse than any of those. It’s the taste of burned beans.

“Once upon a time America lacked coffee shops and people needed them.”

There were always places in the last approx. 80 years where you cold get coffee, good coffee, like donut shops.lunch counters in stores, lunch counters in drugstores, and delis.

It was about coffee, not the coffeehouse “experience”.

Last time I was at starBucks there was a guy hitting on all the guys in the place and demanding hugs. He did not get a hug form me. I won't be back. Talk about sexual harassment.

McDonalds is great coffee. And the senior citizen coffee in northeast Georgia is only 46 cents a cup.

Don't just boycott. Buycott!

Black Rifle Coffee is good, has great gear, and is a good cause.

I went in during their confront racism week and asked if there was a special table for that. Seeing a black woman seated, I asked the manager if I should sit with the black woman and discuss racism. She said no, that probably wasnt a good idea...

I like good coffee. Peets used to be good. My new fav is a tin of Mexican espresso....usually $5.49 .... But once in a while $2.99. It’s better than bagged Starbucks. You make it like regular...maybe a bit less.
