Does Gods view of sex really bring harm to people? Let us ask some simple questions: What would the world be like if everyone followed the biblical plan for sex, engaging in sexual activity in a committed, lifelong relationship with someone of the opposite sex? Would there be more suffering? Or would there be less? Would we have more intact marriages, or more broken homes? Would there be more fatherless homes, or more involved fathers? Would STDs, teen pregnancies, and abortions increase or decrease?
The answers to these questions are obvious.

Agree with the writer but at the age people are getting married nowadays, it’s gonna be a HARD HARD life for guys who get married at 35!!!!!!
“the sexual revolution that started fifty years ago......
I suggest said “revolution” existed more than 50 years ago, it just wasn’t publicized as it is today. Today’s writers think they are onto something “new, exciting and taboo” so they write about it.
Planned destruction of the once great American culture.
Humans are designed to start having sex and procreate in our teens. Older societies understood this.
Perhaps we need to abandon the idea of late marriage.
I was thinking the same thing while I typed.
The problem is the college and masters thing.
Also the incredible immaturity level at 18 today compared to 100 years ago.
I assume the author is talking about the New Testament ‘cause there is a lot of wild sex going on in the Old!
I can attest to the DEVASTATING mental issue a 16 year old deals with when they have sex while not married.
Your brain is not as equipped as your body for sex at that age.
Furious jealousy and wanting to control the girl and NEVER lose the girl you just had this other-worldly experience with can drive you mad at that age.
Lust and the Addiction to the endorphins released during sex are misinterpreted as POWERFUL love and that usually ends bad.
You kill me! :)
Which brings up a question i’ve wondered on and off.
Are the new testament moral beliefs different than the old testament?
Did God change and become more forgiving? Why would God need to change?
I’m expecting great answers from Bible readers cause i’ve read it but am AS FAR from an expert as there is.
That is the fault of “modern” parenting and lack of hardship.
Even Dr. Spock admitted he had a made a big mistake in advising parents essentially not to discipline their children.
Add in a whopping amount of government: Child Support Enforcement Units (comprised almost exclusively of “single” mom misandrists) and “Family” Court with attorneys making more and more money as families fight it out and you have the fall of civilization.
I think most of us here could have had our parents arrested in today’s world :)
My father (God rest his soul) would be doing life!! :)
My AUNT millie would be executed.
Hit the kids with a metal spoon (a YUGE one!) and I mean hit!! She didn’t hit me cause i wasn’t her kid so i just watched fro the couch and hear the screams.
Of her four kids, one is a CEO, one is a lawyer, one is a Managing Director at a leading investment bank, the last one, the girl, has Thalassemia. You were supposed to die in your 20 or 30s but no one told her. And you wouldn’t be able to work or have a kid.
No one told her that either. She’s married with a kid, she’s 40 and holding her own and works as a Rehabilitation therapist with badly neurologically damaged kids.
Would LOVE to see the left explain that outcome.
I’m no expert. I’m a Catholic!
To make a long story short: Before Christ, it was acceptable to massacre foreign tribes, have sex with all the widows, and castrate and/or enslave the other survivors - after Christ, it was a sin on your immortal soul.
Christ essentially said: "Rule-change!"
Regards,
So they wait for the guys to climb the ladder, and in the meantime sleep with everthing that gives them tingles;
along the way learning that
--they are entitled
--they can have it all
--they are better than men
--men are disposable
--they are owed a life of constant interesting things, excitement, and prestige, without ever having to give, defer pleasure, or experience hardship
--and gaining sexual experience with many different men. They learn how to lie about this first to themselves, then to other men, d@mmit, because they're not a slut, like all those other women.
--then when they get their Master's' degree and a couple of years working, Mr. Handsome Millionaire Handyman Stud will show up and sweep her off her feet, just in time for 1 or 2 designer children
*crickets*
When the poor involuntarily celibate cube dweller who she finally settles for ("Where have all the good men gone?"), marries her, she suffers culture shock in that
--she can't leave complications behind with him, like she did with her overseas weekend fling
--bills need to be paid
--she doesn't have the money for all those nights out (hint: guys paid her way but she didn't notice)
--she's expected to *stay home* and not flirt with all the other men
--she's expected to have sex, when sober, to a non-"10".
--she gains some status but loses bragging rights and "Freedom".
So she divorce-rapes him after a couple of years, keeping the kids, and trying to relive the careless hedonistic days of her youth.
This is made possible by women working; contraception and the pill; and women refusing to marry until they're 30.
None of which is sustainable.
ROFL!! Me too!!
WOW. Didn’t know that about the old testament.
But wouldn’t that mean God had to assume he was wrong with the first rules of what men can do and what they can’t?
Or were these just retellings of events that God did not approve of?
I KNOW that’s a controversial statement but I don’t mean it to be and i know i’m wrong, I just don’t understand.
>To make a long story short: Before Christ, it was acceptable to massacre foreign tribes, have sex with all the widows, and castrate and/or enslave the other survivors - after Christ, it was a sin on your immortal soul.
The rules changed? Says who? The peace of Westphalia is when mass slaughter and rapes of civilians in war stopped. Christainity has no bibically based doctrines against pursing war in the normal fashion.
The odds of finding someone to stay in a committed life long relationship that involves a healthy person are slim to none.
As I wrote: Christ essentially said "Rule-change!"
Or are you claiming that Christ was in favor of mass slaughter, the enslavement of subject populations, etc.?
