That's true; but our society is consumer driven (mainly by / for women); and women don't want to have a life of ramen noodles and rusty old cars, because they are TEH AWESOME.

So they wait for the guys to climb the ladder, and in the meantime sleep with everthing that gives them tingles;

along the way learning that

--they are entitled
--they can have it all
--they are better than men
--men are disposable
--they are owed a life of constant interesting things, excitement, and prestige, without ever having to give, defer pleasure, or experience hardship
--and gaining sexual experience with many different men. They learn how to lie about this first to themselves, then to other men, d@mmit, because they're not a slut, like all those other women.

--then when they get their Master's' degree and a couple of years working, Mr. Handsome Millionaire Handyman Stud will show up and sweep her off her feet, just in time for 1 or 2 designer children

When the poor involuntarily celibate cube dweller who she finally settles for ("Where have all the good men gone?"), marries her, she suffers culture shock in that

--she can't leave complications behind with him, like she did with her overseas weekend fling
--bills need to be paid
--she doesn't have the money for all those nights out (hint: guys paid her way but she didn't notice)
--she's expected to *stay home* and not flirt with all the other men
--she's expected to have sex, when sober, to a non-"10".
--she gains some status but loses bragging rights and "Freedom".

So she divorce-rapes him after a couple of years, keeping the kids, and trying to relive the careless hedonistic days of her youth.

This is made possible by women working; contraception and the pill; and women refusing to marry until they're 30.

None of which is sustainable.

Harsh, but I think also true.

I admit that a lot of men need to improve their approach to life. The stereotype of the Millennial hipster male is not a good model, and the problem is older than the Millennial generation. A lot of men are not real men anymore, and this is bad.

But I feel over and above any problems on the male side of the equation, women over the past 100 years have gone down a very, very bad path. I’m not sure I know any happy women. They all seem bitter, angry and resentful. In large part they always get what they want. But they want the wrong things and life just makes them more and more miserable as they get more and more of what they think they want.

But I think it is a very hard sell to convince women that they would be happier if they settled for significantly less.

One result (statistically speaking) is Adam Lanza who shot up the school in CT. The absentee father shoveled money at the ex and his highly autistic son while refusing to accept the responsibility.

Was the father responsible for the actions of his son? Obviously not legally, and there wasn't much he could do about his ditzy ex who wanted to date and shoot and look cool. But there's no other way that tragedies like CT can be prevented. Someone must take responsibility for those situations, and like it or not, he was the one.

Well said. Sixty years ago it was hard for loose women to find a husband, unless it was to the man they were loose with.
