Several establishment Republicans cheered as the Alabama Senate Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore lost to his Democratic opponent Doug Jones.
Here are some of the establishment Republicans who praised Roy Moores loss in the Alabama Senate race on Tuesday:
National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman Cory Gardner (R-CO) said in a statement, Tonights results are clear the people of Alabama deemed Roy Moore unfit to serve in the U.S. Senate. I hope Senator-elect Doug Jones will do the right thing and truly represent Alabama by choosing to vote with the Senate Republican Majority.

Well that wont matter if the people of Alabama if he acts like one... plain and simple Bama is still a DEEP RED state... Like all politicians he wants what they all want... another term...
“Hannity threw Moore under the bus early on too. Thanks Sean”
Nope. Hannity gave Moore a platform from which to deny the allegations against him. Moore hemmed and hawed and did not give strong answers. From Moore’s own mouth came the reason for his loss. The only reason he won the primary was people were on an anti-establishment roll and Luther Strange was establishment GOP. Strange was also Trump’s pick. The only reason Moore got as many votes as he did in the general was from people who thought it more important to keep the senate seat. While keeping the seat was important, Moore was a horrible candidate. Listen to Trump reluctantly endorse him the day before the election. No passion there for Moore.
All this has been a debacle of huge proportions. The greatest debacle is knowing the GOPe will throw away their majority rather than take the responsibility of actually governing by the will of the people whose votes they campaigned for. When the ballot box is used against us, there is only one box left.
So Franken disagrees.
LOL! Thanks!
Moore lost to the RAT because Moore was a horrible candidate. Can’t blame this on anyone else. Any other R would have won in a landslide.
RINO season for the end of their rule.
You are making assumptions, and you know what happens when you assume.
I’m sure that’s what a lot of folks in Bama who stayed home yesterday thought, “How bad could Jones possibly be?”
Well, they’re about to find out.
I wouldn’t doubt it.
How did Franken get elected?
Tell us all about that “election.”

I was wondering why the President endorsed establishment candidate Luther Strange over Roy Moore. Could it be that there were already rumors brewing that Moore would be a risky candidate on account of (most likely phony) sexual allegations, so Trump decided to cut his losses and endorse a "safe" Republican who would be guaranteed to win?
Maybe so, but those same folks stayed at home precisely because they didn’t care for Crazy Roy at all...
People want candidate they can vote FOR, people came out of the woodwork to vote FOR Trump...
not some half baked religious loon...
“I was wondering why the President endorsed establishment candidate Luther Strange over Roy Moore.”
Look at how many GOPe regulars Trump appointed to vital cabinet posts.
You think I voted FOR McCain or FOR Romney?!?!?!
Hell no, I voted AGAINST Obama!
Well I hope they appreciate when Trump’s next SCOTUS pick, which I’m sure they’ll really like, gets shit-canned by the Senate.
the question is did you vote FOR TRUMP? or against Hitlary... I would have voted for TRUMP against damn near anyone... he is the right person in this moment in history to fix what needs fixing...
I wasn't all that thrilled with Moore either because he gave off a strong Elmer Gantry vibe, but if I lived in Alabama I would have supported him over Luther Strange in the primaries (to say nothing of the general election) because Moore is solid on securing the border while Strange is a Mitch McConnell clone and because Jones is completely unacceptable.
If Republican voters stayed home this time, it was almost 100% due to the sex allegations against Moore rather than any actual negatives.
