FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe abruptly cancelled an appearance before the House Intelligence Committee scheduled for Tuesday. Sources told Fox News reporter Chad Pergram that they believe McCabe canceled on the panel over fears he would be asked about recently demoted Justice Department official Bruce Ohr’s wife, who worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 presidential election.

“FBI’s McCabe was expected to appear before Hse to Intel Cmte Tues. Now told he’s not coming. Expect subpoenas to compel McCabe to appear this wk." Source: “McCabe has an Ohr problem,” tweeted Fox News reporter Chad Pergram.

I have seen that information that Mrs. Ohr applied for and received a Ham Radio LIcense. Specifically I saw that she received a Technician License. That is the same License I am studying tonight. With that license one is limited to utilizing the 2m and 70cm band and parts of other bands in CW, (morse code.) Any Freeper hams, please correct me if I am wrong.

Encrypted messages are forbidden by the FCC and if there were any hanky panky over the airwaves, fellow hams either self-police or turn to the FCC. A call sign is public domain and has to be used every ten minutes and at the end of a message/contact.

Yes, she could use the internet with a ham set up to contact across the US but I do not know about any DXing. (Long range contacts) THe 2m and 70cm bands are not condusive to long range contacts.

With encrypted messaging via email and other means these days, a Ham Tech license does not figure in this scenario in my feeble mind. Like I said, if I am missing something here, let me know.

Now if she held a General or higher license, then more bandwidth opens up to the Licensee. But as much of the messaging is open air...anyone can hear it.

It must be nice to be able to say no to a subpoena.

Sounds as if McCabe might be up a creek without a paddle, but has an Ohr. . . one too big to use in his canoe.

random news sampling this evening

hannity on fox is interviewing sean spicer about msm free passes being given to cover up the real russian collusion by the obama doj/fbi, hrc, while on anderson 360 gloria bolger is being invited to discuss how allegations against trump by various women go unanswered... correction to bolger by anderson, trump apologized for the access hollywood tape... sheesh...

cnn appears to me to consist of about 95% advocacy journalism at this point...

Bruce Ohr and Fusion GPS’ Glenn Simpson are listed there, too—what is the organization that chart is from?

Sessions is not the only one taking the nap.

WTH is Wray doing ? His is supposed to be FBI director, he is McCabe’s boss. He has done nothing so far.

Lost interest, but Packet text messaging was quite popular 20 or so years ago. Like a VHF radio chat thing in text. your type, wait while it bounces about, and maybe get a reply.

Really just a curiosity decades ago when I fiddled with it and a packet modem.

So an old tech...Packet Text messaging...not necessarily something done under a Tech License these days is it? I suppose it could be done, but with aren’t those also sent in the clear?
