The mystery over the attack on Rand Paul deepens
CNN ^ | November 22, 2017 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 11/25/2017 2:55:30 PM PST by iowamark

It's been 19 days since Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor while mowing his lawn. And on Wednesday, the story got even stranger as the wife of the Kentucky Republican Senator wrote a piece for CNN detailing the extent of the injuries he suffered in the attack.

"There have been several nights where I had my hand on my phone ready to call 911 when his breathing became so labored it was terrifying," writes Kelley Paul of her husband.

What's even more striking is how Kelley Paul describes the attack -- and the motive behind it...

In the immediate aftermath of the Nov. 3 attack at Paul's home in Kentucky, several neighbors spoke out to CNN and other national news sites, insisting that it was the boiling point of a long-running dispute over flora and fauna. "A neighbor who did not want to be identified said the two have been 'quibbling' over yard waste for years," CNN wrote on Nov. 7. A statement by a lawyer for Rene Boucher, the man who tackled Paul, seemed to affirm that story...

So, what the heck actually happened -- and more importantly why? Why would someone who had been a longtime neighbor of Paul's suddenly snap and inflict serious damage on him? Why is there so much effort to push totally contradictory explanations of the incident and what motivated it? We are dealing with a US Senator who was viciously attacked at his home. Boucher pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault earlier this month, making it more likely there will be a trial at which we may finally get this mystery solved.

What gives? What really happened? How do we not know this yet?

Yes, I was getting ready to post the same question regarding the charge of ‘misdemeanor’ assault in the face of several broken ribs, peripheral damage to organs, and now the testimony of his wife who fears he may die in his sleep.

And this is a ‘misdemeanor’ motivated by a spat over yard waste or some such.

I would hope the Paul’s sue this Boucher menace for everything he’s got.

One thing is certain, the truth is not to be found on CNN so why post their site and advertise for them?

"...will I get a misdemeanor?..."

My thoughts exactly. This is getting treated like jaywalking.
You go and tackle Senator Chuck Schumer and we would never see or hear from you again.

Nothing will awaken the GOP. It was evident after the attempted massacre of 20+ pubbies at the congressional baseball practice.””

So what does it take for you to take action? Should they shoot a bunch of rats?

"The unfortunate occurrence of November 3 has absolutely nothing to do with either's politics or political agendas," attorney Matthew Baker said in a statement. "It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial."

Well of course not.

If the neighbors attack was politically motivated he could be charged with a committing a terrorist act.

No lawyer worth his billable hours is going to admit that his client’s assault on a senator is politically motivated.

What surprises me is that the prosecuting attorney has not mentioned the neighbor’s politics. Seems that a prosecutor could get some press that way.

The leaders we have are deceitful poseurs who got in position because they fooled us. That doesn’t mean our ideas are wrong. In fact they deceived us by running on our ideas.

We just need a better way of vetting those who run for office.

You are all stuck in the two-party, Uniparty mindset. The Presidency is the only institution not controlled by the Uniparty-Left. President Trump represents a pause, temporary respite from rampaging Leftism.

You all wish to fight on their terms. I say that is silly.

We know the depths to which the rats will descend to win elections. The people somehow overcame them in 2016 to elect President Trump. It is a sign they are ready to go around the Uniparty to turn our country around.

Voting in congressional elections is insufficient effort to save the dwindling remains of our republic.

For years I have advocated an end run, a flanking movement around the Establishment; the means are right under our noses. It is called Article V.

Its difficult for me to believe it’s not a federal offense to attack and injury a seating US Senator, which should result in all emails and communications of suspect being looked at for motivation. So purposeful attacking and injuring a US senator is on par with a jay walking misdemeanor. Something really stinks here. Don’t tell me the Attorney General is playing three dimensional chess, while everybody else is playing checkers.
