Fox News anchor Shep Smith broke from his networks hyperventilating coverage of the Uranium One pseudoscandal to debunk allegations of wrongdoings by Hillary Clinton.
Smith, never one to blindly toe the party line, took to task President Donald Trump ― and, implicitly, his cable news network of choice ― over the inaccurate portrayal of the sale of a Canadian mining company with major U.S. holdings to a Russian company.
Heres the accusation, Smith explained Tuesday. Nine people involved in the deal made donations to the Clinton Foundation totaling more than $140 million. In exchange, Secretary of State Clinton approved the sale to the Russians a quid pro quo.
Its a claim that has dominated Fox News in recent weeks after The Hill published a deeply flawed report about a Russian bribery plot involving the sale. Following pressure from the president and several Republican members of Congress, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced earlier this week that the Justice Department would consider appointing a special counsel to review the deal as well as other matters involving Clinton and other Democrats.
Theres never been any evidence that Clinton acted inappropriately and, as Smith notes, the Clinton State Department had no power to approve or veto that transaction. It could do neither. Indeed, the State Department was just one of nine agencies that signed off on the deal and Clinton herself wasnt even on the committee.
The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton approved the sale, Smith said. She did not. A committee of nine evaluated the sale, the president approved the sale, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and others had to offer permits, and none of the uranium was exported for use by the U.S. to Russia. That is Uranium One.

Potts Camp?
There. Fixed it for you.
It is called a conspiracy to commit treason.
I was raised in Hickory Flat and had relatives all over.................
National Review is supporting Shep and this story
The Clintons received 140 million to their foundation in exchange for helping facilitate the uranium rights here in the USA of about 25% of our uranium reserves
Unless it was precisely quid pro quo national Review doesn’t care

the president approved the saleGosh, no ****, eh? Shep's a Partisan Media Shill. Saying "there's no evidence" is exactly the same argument that should be used regarding the months-long ongoing witch hunt against the President.
60’s before the I-22...................
I’d rather not.
;D
the Clinton State Department had no power to approve or veto that transaction. It could do neither. Indeed, the State Department was just one of nine agencies that signed off on the deal .................
contradiction
Good point. The Clintons & Media have been doing this little dance forever. Finally starting to catch up on them. Enough people saying incoherent things to clear her and dumb people believe. Now a good portion of the Hillary cult are starting to leave her behind.
Shep shows he is being bribed. He just cannot be that stupid.
Shep, a practitioner of deviant sex, should have his newscast relegated to shortwave radio.
Let him follow Megyn Kelly
What’s Fox news? Is that a hunting channel?
Shep is following the democrat talking points exactly to the word: Therre is “noevidence” BECAUSE the Obola-Session DOJ DID NOT LOOK FOR ANY, REFUSED to “see it” when it was presented, and REFUSED to prosecute when they had the inormation printed for them in the (few) papers that did print it.
They claim “the State Dept” was only one of 9 departments that had to side the agreement, when Hillary’s State Dept WAS the agency pushing and demanding the rest of the (very willing!) other government departments also sign the waiver.
They claim - as coindidence” ??? - the 1140 millions paid before and during the signature process, then use that admission that was no “quid quo pro” .... Which makes no sense.
They claim “Russia collusion” against Trump ceaselessly for 16 months, when his agents and deputies DID refuse meetings, DID reject payments and money, DID reject offers of the documents, and DID have legitimate long-running businesses with Russian companies and agencies. But, when Hillary and Bill Clinton WERE SELLING and WERE TAKING Russian money privately FOR the purpose of working with Russia WHILE she was Sec of State and WHILE she was physically and actually the lead candidate for her Presidency, Shep Smith is thinking with his organ and promoting her lies.
And, true to their allegiance, the Huffington Post and Slater and all other Washington media sources are promoting the democrat lies, while praising another homosexually-driven liar. But writing as if promoting the democrat side of Hillary’s crimes is a heroic thing worthy of praise by “fighting” Fox News bias!
Shep appears butt-hurt.
From TIGHT END to WIDE RECEIVER says his bio...LOL...
Fine. Treason is treason no matter how you describe it. However the question remains: Where is the Uranium?
