I look forward to when Boston in the October baseball.
I see you're from Connecticut. I grew up in Wallingford, with a 50/50 split between Red Sox and Yakee fans. New Haven was solid Yankee, Cheshire was mostly Red Sox.
I come from a National League family, and as a Dodger fan I could enjoy the Yankee-Red Sox rivalry as an outsider, Except of course the fact that I DESPISE the Yankees.
Just last weekend our family movie was "Boys Town". Mickey Rooney plays Whitey, an extremely obnoxious juvenile delinquent:
Freddie Fuller: There's our baseball field... last year one of our players was drafted by the St. Louis Browns.
Whitey Marsh: Well, I like the Yankees.
Freddie Fuller: You would!

I think mixed martial arts has grabbed many of the young men that in years past would have been NFL fans...why not watch a sport that shows you how to F somebody up?

Baseball has made itself unwatcheable, by refusing to deal with delaying tactics, which serve no reasonable purpose; why, for instance, must a batter step out of the box after every pitch to readjust his batting gloves? Why must a pitcher stare at the catcher for fifteen seconds to decide a type of pitch? Why should relief pitchers get to warm up on the mound after doing so in the bullpen? Just some of the stupid nonsense MLB has allowed to get out of hand...

Baseball has a different cadence than the clock sports. My big beef is the constant changing of pitchers. It wasn't so long ago that a starting pitcher stayed in until he was no longer effective, they didn't pull him just because he threw 87.4 pitches or whatever.
A clock would ruin the game. Maybe a limit on certain actions, like how many times a player can leave the batter's box.
I'd like to shrink the roster to 23 players, to cut down on the substitutions.

Hey! My son played both football and lacrosse.
His team once voted him to be the most likely to kill another player in a game. LOL
He’s a Mechanical Engineer now, specializing in Safety of all damned things! :-)

I love Rugby 7’s. It’s easy to pick up the rules, very similar to American Football. The only “drawback” from an advertisers standpoint is games are very quick, but I think you could compensate for that by showing more games.

But isnt it a hard sport? It's a blast to play, easy for a beginner to pick up, if you have decent hand/eye coordination, but yes, to be really good, as with any sport, it takes a lot of dedication, practice, and hard work, just like any sport.
But as with baseball, it can be fun to just go out and "have a catch" without actually playing the game.
The skill of the best players is amazing to watch, do a YouTube search on lacrosse.

I’d like to see professions women’s softball. I enjoy college softball when they televise the championships.

This is a proposal I’ve been pushing for years;take the fifty best teams, based on history and current trends, call them pro feeding programs, and remove them from NCAA control, and let them have at each other...sucks for the 51st team, but it would greatly improve the game by removing obvious mismatches and cupcake schedules, like Penn State’s...

I used to participate is USPSA/IPSC shooting, and while I enjoyed that, my favorite was being a member of the "Midwest Pin Blasters." Shooting bowling pins is so much fun!

I do enjoy Hockey too. In fact, Hockey is one of the few sports that is better to watch live than on TV. TV follows the puck and there is always more going on than the TV can cover. You cannot get a feel for Hockey on TV like you can in person.

Jim Brown was All-American in both football and lacrosse while in college. I guess the money was better in pro football back then. :-)

Oakland As catcher Bruce Maxwell became the first Major League Baseball player to kneel during the national anthem on Saturday, according to the San Francisco Chronicles Susan Slusser.
Oakland, huh? Like any gangrene, the offending part has to be cut off to save the body. We have to get rid of the Bay area.
