Democrats move to formally censure Trump over Charlottesville
McClatchy ^ | 16 Aug 2017 | LESLEY CLARK

WASHINGTON House Democrats are introducing a formal resolution to denounce President Donald Trump for saying that “both sides” are to blame for a violent encounter between white supremacists and neo-Nazis and the activists who showed up to protest them.

While the censure is unlikely to see traction in the GOP-led House, it serves as a rebuke to Trump and mirrors some of the Republican criticism the president has faced for his remarks.

“A president of the United States cannot support neo-Nazis. It’s just beyond the pale,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., a member of the House Judiciary Committee. “I hope Republicans who have expressed outrage with what he said put their money where their mouth is.”

Just three Democrats have signed onto the measure, but Nadler says he expects more to follow.

With this tactic, Democrats are taking a page from Republicans who frequently filed censure resolutions against President Barack Obama and members of his administration. Most died on the vine, but the Republican-controlled House of Representatives in 2012 voted to censure then-Attorney General Eric Holder for his role in the botched Fast and Furious gun-running operation into Mexico.

A number of lawmakers also introduced censures against Bill Clinton over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky and resolutions were filed against George W. Bush for authorizing a no-warrant domestic surveillance program.

One president was formally censured: President Andrew Jackson in 1834 was admonished by the Senate for refusing to turn over documents that lawmakers had requested.

The Democrats are still in denial about Trump’s win... more than 10 months later.

Russia hasn’t panned out for them so they now they’re moving on to Charlottesville.

Bottom line is they can’t stand the President for standing up to then.

I hope they keep this fools’ errand up for the next 8 years.

The President isn’t going anywhere. Period.

Censure or no censure. Impeachment or no impeachment.

Deal with it!

He needs to announce an address to the nation, and then have photographs, videos of antifa BLM etc, and the media being shown for the liars they are. Show the nation the truth , and let millions of people see what the media is covering up.

Show a video of antifa in Berkeley ,NC, BLM in Baltimore, TX, CA,NY. Then show a video of the media showing their hatred about Trump, and then show them the truth.

Haha!

No it does not mean that at all.

The President can speak all he wants.

It’s simply for the Optics from the butt hurt Democrats that said Trump was a Russian yesterday, a Nazi today and probably KKK tomorrow.

It’s all meaningless and simply for show. Don’t fall for the bull hook, line and sinker.

Excellent ideas, manc. The media would likely carry such a news conference thinking they would make Trump look bad. Then Trumo could use it persuade people as to what is going on. It only works if Trump unveils facts rather than opinions

The media would carry it thinking they can set him up, ten Trump gives his own news service for an hour with facts, video,s photo;s etc. Think about tens of millions of people, including liberals, and thee media having to see the truth.

That’s the idea.

I can’t believe that they are so stupid as to say that his blaming BOTH sides means he’s supporting the nazi’s.

Is there some kind of IQ test that one has to fail to become liberal politician?

Trump will go down as a political Phoenix, enemies burn him but he bounces back rejuvenated.

These fringe groups are .000003% of the population. It is being reported as if they are the majority. This is Trump Derrangement Syndrome fanned by Soros and the Won’s handlers.

Censure won’t mean a damned thing. Just political theater. The president is the ONLY one who is telling the truth on this matter. Nice for a change.

“A president of the United States cannot support neo-Nazis. It’s just beyond the pale,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D”

Wow, there are so many things wrong with that…

Is telling the truth about events “supporting” anyone involved? Well, only if the left is lying to slander one side, and the truth jerks the legs out from under that.

What he is saying, then, is that a president of the United States cannot tell the truth if it interferes with Nadless’s plan to deceive the American people.

And “beyond the pale.” What about the Supreme Court decision that Nazis cannot be prevented from marching?

Nadless—hell, the entire left—wants to work things around so that they have license to do violence where they please. Trump is interfering with that.

Pray for out president, if the spirit moves you.

That statement by Nadler is just a brazen, bald-faced lie. Trump does not support neo-Nazis. He just said that some of the people protesting the removal of the statue are not neo-Nazis, white supremacists, or KKK members. Those people have a right to protest peacefully, just as leftists have a right to protest peacefully. That’s all he said. Trump never expressed any support for neo-Nazis. That was a complete and absolute lie by Nadler. He should be censured by the House for brazenly distorting the truth and lying about the President.

You know, yesterday I was thinking about the stench emanating from the putrid swamp in Washington D.C., and I’ve concluded now that there isn’t one leader, not one, among all the democrats in the House and the Senate. They are all cowardly, gutless, spineless, miserable, corrupt followers who just follow their left-wing base around and do whatever their awful political base wants them to do. None of them could even lead a Cub Scout pack in a walk around the block. Hopefully, they will end up like the lemmings and they will follow their despicable base and jump off a political cliff into the sea. There’s a good chance that will happen and we will crush them in the elections in 2018 and 2020.

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” —

Ps 2:1-4 KJV
