https://ballotpedia.org/Laws_governing_recall_in_Alaska

https://scannedretina.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/recalling-u-s-senators-and-congressmen2.pdf

“Eighteen states have recall provisions. Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado,
Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey,
North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin all have recall of some
kind available to their voters. Only seven of these states require any grounds.
Some examples:
Alaska’s Constitution, Article XI, Section 8 states;
All elected public officials in the State, except judicial officers, are subject to recall by the voters
of the State or political subdivision, from which elected.
Procedures and grounds for recall shall be prescribed by the legislature.

Alaska’s statute AS Section 15.45.510 allows recall for lack of fitness, incompetence, neglect of duties and corruption.”
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Lots of good history in 2nd link, already started my research. I would forget about McCain nature will take care of that. Maine doesn’t have recall elections. Murkowski would make a splendid example though ... this is something the grassroots should get very proficient and formulaic about ... incumbents will have to spend funds, and the grass roots will show up in droves. Sarah could be a great help, also.

“Recall is unconstitutional per some SCOTUS case.”

Ok. Thanks for the info. I remember a few years back when California recalled their governor, but I guess that falls under state law.

Convention of States or Article V is all we’ve got other than waiting to vote out back stabbers. 12 States have already signed on , need 22 more.

What I really don't want is for people to take their marbles and go home, just like they've done for years.

We still have the majority, and President Trump can still get a lot done.

The democrat party is close to cracking up into smaller socialist factions. The ice is starting to crack on the Awan brothers, and congress is now asking Sessions to appoint a special council for that. By 2018 the public will see that the democrats are a criminal organization. Already they can't raise money. We can't let them back in to the game.

So, by all means let's primary as many of these republicans as we can, but let's remember that the democrats truly are the worse enemy.

The people elected them knowing they were moderates. They lied to their constituents about wanting to repeal and replace. They will be held accountable come election time. Now I wish no ill will on McCain despite the fact that he is a gift to the Democrats, but I don’t know if his health will allow him to serve his full term. If so, he’ll be up for reelection in 6 years.

You’d have nothing but McQueegs if legislatures were electing Senators on the GOP side. Looters of our treasury and big gubmint advocates to the last to compete with the same lawless pirates on the Communist Party side of the aisle.

A couple of days ago I saw Dr Gorka being interviewed re this law. He said the bill in the House had got better due to input from the WH. Still it was not perfect. Then of course it went back to the Senate. Do not know what happened in that esteemed locality. (Yes, I was being sarcastic.) However, I heard on (Swedish) radio this morning that the ban on Russia will also affect companies working on the trans-Baltic pipeline between Russia and Germany.

The DC politicians were so critical of President Trump during the NATO and G20 meetings because he did not fall in line with the European allies. Well, if anything will cause a rift between the EU (and esp Germany) and the US it is this bill. Congress’s own bill.

Of course Putin won’t like further sanctions, but he can be happy about a much deeper split between the US and Europe.
Well played Congress! Well played!

In a sane world, McConnell would have gone to the Senate floor and committed sepukku.

All should lose leadership positions in Senate. There has to be consequences for their actions.

There’s no mechanism to recall Senators/Congressmen. At least I think so.

Trump played them against each other. No matter what no matter where the DNC tries to spin in. The glaring truth is, it was the GOP who voted to repeal Obamacare many times while Obama was in office, couldn’t even pass a plain repeal, barely able to bring it to the floor.

Trump forced the vote even though it was a long shot at best. Nobody can say he didn’t try. He comes out shining.

Instead of term limits, how about no perks. No retirement, bank, barber shop, gym, insider trading, franking, post office, etc. and do something about the power of incumbency.
We somehow need to encourage citizen legislator again, instead of career politicians.
I see two problems with term limits: 1) We also eliminate good legislators 2) We put relatively more power into the hands of career staff, lobbyists and bureaucrats.
