Trump Asks Why ‘Beleaguered’ Sessions Isn't Investigating Clinton

President Donald Trump publicly chastised Attorney General Jeff Sessions again Monday, criticizing him for not seeking an investigation of the president's former campaign opponent.

In a morning tweet, Trump questioned why congressional and intelligence committees and the "beleaguered" Sessions are not probing what he called Hillary Clinton's "crimes and Russia relations."

Last week, Trump criticized Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Trump told The New York Times that he would not have appointed Sessions if he had known he would step back from the probe.

Last week, Sessions said he had no plans to leave the job.

Watch the video of Sessions ‘Recusal’, if you didn’t know better you would swear it was a guy accused of molesting a five-year-old, he was about to cry, it was embarrassing for a Man.

The only way to hold Mueller accountable is to fire him. There is no other way to force him to stay within a Russian interference / collusion mandate.

Yes there is. The DOJ controls the purse. They can also insist some republican attorneys be appointed because he is giving the country the appearance of impropriety. Remember the golden rule: he who has the gold rules!

Cankles? Hell, there a whole laundry list of ‘whom should be investigated & prosecuted’:

Zero vs. pallets of $$
Hillary vs. illegal e-mail server
USPS vs. Hillary campaign
Holder vs. F&F
Lerner vs. IRS
all the ‘sanctuary cities’ and their employees
all the tax cheats in Congress
....

Take up damn near the rest of the internet to type out the rest of ‘em

Isn't that one of the reasons that many voted for him? It was one of his campaign promises!

It’s because she stole the FBI files on every Republican of note back in the 90s and almost all of them who are still alive, are still in office or other position of influence.

Plus who knows what she had access to as SoS, plus what she had access to through Obama’s political spying apparatus.

Also all the murders tend to get people a bit apprehensive about taking her on directly.

You make some good points. Perhaps Trump extended an olive branch, but she’s clearly not accepting it. Time to play hardball.

It was an explicit promise in front of 100+ million people on live TV.

I am convinced it is THE thing above all else that happened between the conventions and the election, that made him President.

Please explain to me how Gowdy’s position allows him to “prosecute” anybody for anything. I’ll be waiting.

That's what I am wondering - couldn't the President order an investigation?

It's mystifying to me, why a man who spent the last 40 years being a chief exec, wouldn't instinctively do that. It's what we business owners do every day.

I know a few Freepers don’t like Rudy Guiliani, but if you want to see Hillary FINALLY indicted, convicted and locked up, I absolutely guarantee you 1000% if Rudy was made AG it would happen. I grew up in New York city and lived there till 2010, knew Rudy a loooong time, and there is not a person on this earth who he detests more than Hillary Clinton... He would pursue her till the ends of the earth if he was AG. Look at this: This MSNBC!!

I am wondering now if the reason the Sessions nomination was approved is because the fix was in.

Just my idle speculation.......

Who, exactly, makes the call to investigate Clinton? Couldn’t Trump order Sessions to investigate Clinton?

The fact that Trump is making this public is telling me that Sessions is likely resisting investigations into Hillary, likely because he's too soft and gentlemanly to do it, thinking that because of his recusal he can't go after a former Trump political opponent.

Sessions will clearly be gone in a short time, and Trump is basically telling him publicly that it's time to resign.

So is the pot smoking kid also molesting other kids?

There is a monstrous evil throughout our land, and anyone who mentions pot smoking should be reminded that we now have a President, congress, and justice dept. willing to confront child trafficking, even though the Clinton bodies are piling up faster and faster.

Seems the only thing that motivates Sessions is his desire to prosecute the War on Weed. I hope the Don fires his worse-than-useless ass by week’s end.

I wouldn’t bet on it. At the same time he’s investigating election fraud? He was highly praised on this board during his confirmation hearing. Recusing himself might have hurt him with Trump, but it was the right thing to do. As for Mueller, as Rush has repeatedly said, a special investigation needs parameters. If the DGA won’t make them, he ought to be fired.

It was reported in early June that Sessions offered to resign. If true, I wonder why the Pres. didn’t accept then.

Either it was fake news, which is probable, or else Trump has asked Sessions since then to act against Hillary, but Sessions has either pushed back or has failed to take any action. I have a feeling there is push back going on, and Sessions is playing the ultimate boy scout.

God bless him for his strong conservative stands and superior position on immigration, but I frankly think the problem is that he's too soft and doesn't want even the appearance of corruption. He probably thinks prosecuting Hillary is impolite, or some stupid s*** like that, or else that it is wrong for a member of a political campaign to prosecute a former opponent for any reason whatsoever no matter how legitimate.
