Texas, three more states on California’s banned travel list

California is restricting publicly funded travel to four more states because of recent laws that leaders here view as discriminatory against gay and transgender people.

It’s impossible to enforce these bans. Some poor sap engineer or analyst who needs to go to a training conference to hone their skills to provide better public service will be prohibited while sports teams will be allowed to go.

LA got trapped in one where they lost funds because their city rep couldn’t show mum somewhere, I think NC. They let the ban fizzle out. It’s all S and chest thumping

They join Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee as states already subjected to the ban.

If true I suspect this is solidly unconstitutional. No state has the power to restrict travel between states. Of course the derelict scum of the 9th Circus may disagree and probably will.

Dumb question: Why do people in state government travel so much?

Simple answer: They themselves are not the ones paying for it - you are.
