My first reaction was; “Why do the Pence’s open their heart and share their suffering on Twitter, with all the Lib haters a-swarming?
My second reaction was; “Why shouldn’t they? Twitter has not closed itself off from the GOP just yet, and besides WE WON!, so we should not be spending a lot of time trying to hide ourselves.

It must be a slow news day.
A cat is just another animal that lives and dies and is used by humans for whatever reason while it lives. Just as we won't be married to our spouse in Heaven, Oreo won't be waiting for Pence to pet him in Heaven. We won't have 15 wives on our own planets, and there aren't any virgins up there for us to commit murder for. There are no female angels in night gowns and no babies as angels. Children die and are saints in heaven just as we die and are saints in Heaven. Cherub's are actually pretty terrible creatures as they were put at the entrance to the Garden of Eden to keep us out. They are NOT little babies with wings on toilet paper wrappings. There is no sex in Heaven because we don't need to procreate. We will however, judge the angels if we get there. They long to look into this thing called Salvation that we have and they don't. There are so many tales spread by people that go to church twice a year, sometimes they need to be shown there is more to Bible study than they think.
Having said all that, I too mourn for Pence and family for the loss of their pet, but it is a pet and not human. They can buy another one by tomorrow.

Would indicate that God is concerned with the well-being of His entire creation.
There is no mention of pets per se but in Revelation 5 there is “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
Horses are also mentioned in Revelation, as well as lions and wolves side-by-side with lambs and kids mentioned in Isaiah 11 and 65. I don’t know that every animal that ever lived will be in Heaven, but I won’t be surprised if beloved pets of the saints might be present. We definitely shouldn’t be disappointed if they aren’t, since we’ll be with our Heavenly Father!
I don’t know if there are animals in Heaven or not, but the reason we eat cows and pigs, but not horses or monkeys, or dogs and cats, (in our culture)is because they show great intelligence, they respond to us, and are trainable or teachable. Some people will argue that pigs have those qualities, and I’m sure some do, but as a rule, at least in our culture, we don’t make pets from them.
I love my dogs, and when I’ve had pets pass away, it makes me sad, but that’s all. I do completely understand people who have no children or loved ones, being extremely saddened by their pet’s death, but it’s not the same as losing a child. You can recover from the death of a pet, and get another, when the time is right, but they’re animals, not humans. If you’re one who thinks that animals have more value than people, please don’t get all bent out of shape. After all, we’re all just giving our opinions here, and are each entitled to his own.
And as Matthew 10:29 states, God considers the animal creation more than just food, so should we.
I second that most heartily. I have said that very same thing to many people. Cats are just the best. I am sure that the Pence family is very much mourning the loss of their little guy. Whoever posted here "they can just go out and buy another one tomorrow" is bereft of empathy or understanding of what it is to lose a beloved pet. Eventually the Pences may adopt another rescue kitty, but first they have to mourn. Oreo was, after all, a member of their family.
Thank you (Post 28) for that comforting Bible verse and thought. If every creature and animal in heaven is praising the Lord, then we know our beloved pets are under His loving care.
Is God forbidden to take actions not specifically mentioned in the Bible?
It may seem that I am giving God a little too much leeway on how to run Heaven, but I don’t believe for a second that his options are limited to our understanding of it. I have my reasons to think that humans aren’t the only life forms he cares about. I might be willing to explain this in more detail but not right now.

I don’t know the exact place, but in Ecclesiastes it says “there is one soul of man and another of animals”, they are different but I believe animals have souls that God takes to heaven, maybe. At least we know there are horses in heaven as they’re all over Revelations....
I believe the horses in Revelations are metaphorical, but hey, who can say? If there aren’t actual horses in heaven then I don’t even know if I want to go..... (yeah, I love horses)
When my cat died sure I could have gone and “bought another one tomorrow” but I would never do that because I’d have felt it’s dishonoring to the memory of my just deceased cat. You know, no they aren’t human but yes we do develop real feelings for them, especially after taking care of them for 15+ years and they do actually have their own little quirks and personalities.
God never wrote that he would put me in charge of the best well water on the planet! Dang, it is do good! Having me a glass of it as we speak! MMMMmmmmmm
